Snowflakes are the fairydust of winter....

Hello everyone,
Good (Monday)morning everyone, Yvonne here sharing  another Christmas project with you all.
I realized it'll be Christmas before we know (how time flies!) so...a great time to get started on making those Christmas cards.
And.... with Quietfire Christmas stamps are on sale with 30% off it's the perfect time to buy yourself some gorgeous Quietfire stamps!

This Christmas card is really quick and easy to re-create.
The cardbase measures 5x7 inch and layered upon (sanded) silver and a skyblue cardstock.
Quietfire's "Snowflakes are the fairydust of winter" (#6246) sentiment was stamped upon the cardbase using Jet black Archival ink.

 

The white border is die-cut using Spellbinders Borderabilities A2 Scalloped Borders Two (S5-214).
After die-cutting, the paper was embossed using a snowflake embossingfolder.
To emphasize the sentiment I chose to die-cut some  snowflakes from DCWV Glizy Glitter covered cardstock.
Upon the snowflakes some self- adhesive Pearls were glued.
And finally some stripes of glitter-glue to get that extra ice effect.

I hope the card  inspires to get Christmas-crafty.

"Hold on to the Spirit of Christmas" layered Christmas card

Happy Friday, Crafters!  Kathy Jo here to share another  Christmas project.  Last week I shared a scrapbook page I made using Quietfire’s gorgeous stamp “Hold on to the Spirit of Christmas”.  I liked using the stamp so much that I decided to use it on a Christmas card this week.

The stamp is classic, timeless and versatile.  It could easily be used on a CAS or classy and elegant or shabby chic or clean and layered card.  Whichever style you choose, the stamped sentiment will definitely be the focal point of the Christmas card.  For this card I decided to go with layers and deep, vintage colors. 

Several gems were added to the layered paper, the ribbon and on the stamped sentiment itself.  The gems added the sparkle and shine usually seen at Christmas.  The layers were made using Spellbinders Elegant Ovals and Exquisite Labels Eleven.

I like the way the card turned out and I am very happy to finish another Christmas card.  Did you know that there are only 131 days until Christmas?  That may sound like a lot of time to you but it is not for me!  I always seem to be rushing the last few weeks before Christmas finishing craft projects.  This year I am trying hard to not do that- I will tell you how/if it works out!  If you want to get a head start on your Christmas crafts then now is a perfect time: Quietfire holiday stamps are on sale for 30% off!  Yay!

PERFECT CHRISTMAS & FAMILY STRENGTH - CARDS

Hi Everyone! Holly here with two cards for you today. 

First up, quick and easy, using this beautiful sentiment stamp called

A FAMILY IS A CIRCLE OF STRENGTH

and design paper called THESE DAYS. 

Add in a few pieces cut using the MACARENA DIE , sponge on some INK, then assemble the card. Foam tape under the sentiment provides depth.

Okay, so that was just too easy- let's do another one! Inspired by Design Team buddy Kathy Jo, I opted to make a Christmas card.

 

No designer paper on this one- we'll make our own background paper. 

Using JET BLACK ARCHIVAL INK, randomly stamp Christmas designs, and the sentiment. I used 

MY IDEA OF A PERFECT CHRISTMAS for the sentiment, and DECK THE HALLS, and CHRISTMAS IS THE DAY for the images. After sponging loose circles of FIRED BRICK and PEELED PAINT  DISTRESS INK, I picked up ink with a brush and coloured in the images.

The circles for the sentiment and red mat were cut with Spellbinders CIRCLES then the red mat and strip were embossed with the REINDEER MAGIC M-Bossabilities.

The same inks were watered down a bit and splattered onto the card base and sentiment.

Once assembled, I added some pearls from my stash, and called it done.

You Are Amazing!!

I love all the stamps at Quietfire but i think this is my one of my favorites

only because i tend to say it a lot!  The You are Amazing stamp I thought

would be perfect to put on the front of my birthday gift card folder for 

my niece to let her think that we know how special she is to all of us.

This is a really fun project to do and fill with all kinds of goodies
to give as a gift.  It's actually something i had in my stash and i
thought it was the perfect time to get it out and create something special.
The papers are from American Craft and the dies are of course by
Spellbinders.  One is Lacey Ovals and the other is Elegant Ovals
but you can use whatever dies you have to stamp the sentiment with too.

To make this you just need to make pockets and decorate
them up and then glue them inside of the fold over cover.
I cut paper for both the inside and out to make it really
feminine with all the flowers and pretty peach papers.

The birthday plain and simple sentiments stamp set would go
really well with this project too and you can see this new cling
stamp set here just in case you feel like you need it :)

Happy Birthday card...

It´s Yvonne here all the way from  a sunny Holland and... with my very first blogpost as DT-member of Quietfire....
no need to say I'm a very proud happy girl!

I love making romantic/vintage style cards and I hope I can inspire you with my little projects.
If you have any questions on my projects or maybe special requests, please do let me know!

Today I´m sharing with you a romantic birthday card with the "Happy Birthday Plain & Simple" (SKU 5899) set in combination with some Spellbinders dies.
I love this set of Birthday stamps for it's variety in "handwritings"...it suits every style!

The size of the white card base is 5¾"x7¾" and each layer upon is ¼" smaller in size.
For the embossed background I used  Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Floral Labels 4 and added silver accents by gently dabbing some Brilliance Platinum planet ink (using a dauber) onto the embossed parts.
The brown doily was made with Spellbinders Picot Edge Circles (I used the largest die).
Glue the doily onto the cardbase using Glue Dots Pop up Relief  for an extra 3D effect.
The Quietfire Happy Birthday sentiment was stamped on white cardstock using Jet black Archival ink and cut a banner (with scissors).
And finally embellish with a bow and lots and lots of flowers.

Hold on to The Spirit of Christmas Scrapbook page

Hello!  Kathy Jo here sharing a scrapbook page I completed using Quietfire's "Hold on to The Spirit of Christmas" stamp.  The stamp worked perfectly with the photo and the memory of the event.  

Some quick info about the photo: it was taken last December at a fundraiser for a local animal shelter.  The photo is of my handsome hubby and exceptionally cute Saint Bernard, Ella.  We had just taken Ella for a long walk so she was a little dirty but her "formal wear" (aka her barrel) made up for it.

The paper used was from various Graphic 45 collections (Twelve Days of Christmas, Nutcracker Sweet, Place in Time).  The gorgeous sentiment was stamped in Memento's Rich Cocoa.  Here is a better image of the stamp below:

Distress & Glue - Just Because - We Do Not remember

Hi bloggers, it's Yogi here today with a fun background... Distress and glue. ROFL. Click on any image to enlarge. Enjoy

For the background: on a regular piece of white cardstock, applied "Scattered Straw" direct to paper. Then sponged "Wild Honey" & "Spiced Marmalade". With my finger I smeared some glue here and there and set aside to dry. (all the yellowy splotches in the image at right are where the glue was applied). After the glue dried, I sponged "Salty Ocean" all over. Trimmed it down to fit card front leaving a scant 1/16" border all around.

Side folded my cream toned card to make a 5"w x 7"h card. Adhered my background. Stamped my bird (Old Island) and the Water Lily border (Beeswax) using Versafine Black Onyx. Stamped both these images again on some scrap white cardstock. The flower border with the black, the bird - coloring the stamp with Distress markers, misting with water and then stamping. Cut both out around the solid portion of the images. On the bird I also added some flicks of Wink of Stella brush to add some glitter. Adhered the bird to the card on top of the stamped image on the background. Adhered the flower border using 3D foam tape, also on top of the previously stamped image. Stamped the sentiment (10 Tiny Tag Sentiments) with the black and clear embossed.

Die cut some foliage (Memory Box "Leafy Branch" & Marianne Design) from scraps of decorated cardstock.

On the inside stamped the quote (We Do Not Remember...) with the black. Used some post it notes as a mask and stamped the birds (Old Island) with the black.
