Double Flap Card - Friends Are Those - Happy Birthday

Yogi here today with a double flap card, also called a "Joy Fold Card". I used to make this type of card eons ago, but one of my quilling friends brought it back to my attention... so had to make one again BIG GRIN

I cut my dark green textured cardstock 6" x 12" and scored at 6" to create the base card.

Cut my cream toned card 10.75" x 4.75", scored in half (approx 5.4") (ps I use a 10ths ruler...)

Front: Embossed one side of the cream cardstock using Cuttlebug Anna Griffin "Matelasse" embossing folder. Hit the high points with Distress "Bundled Sage" and on the back side "Peeled Paint". Adhered the unembossed side to the right inside flap, making sure when the flaps are closed there is no interference and keeping the borders equal. I then cut a piece of the green cardstock and adhered to the cream cardstock, both on the front flap and the inside so it had the appearance of the same border all around...

eCut the word "Ginkgo" and a shadow layer from white cardstock. Inked the word layer using Versafine "Toffee" and embossing with "Paprika". Inked the shadow layer with the toffee, adhered the word layer, and then embossed with "Detail Gold". (PS your ink should be juicy, so you have enough time to glue your word piece before your ink dries...). Adhered to card front. eCut the ginkgo leaves from cream toned cardstock, embossed vein lines using a small balled stylus, then hit the leaf direct to paper with the sage pad. adhered the leaves to the front.

Back side of front flap: I used Peeled Paint, direct to paper on the backside.
For the quote, I cut away the word "home" from the "May Your Home" stamp, and inserted the word "day" from the "Valentine" stamp set, inked with Versafine, Black Onyx and clear embossed on cream toned cardstock. Trimmed down, sponged edges with the Peeled Paint, hit the edge with the pad to get a darker edge and adhered to another piece of cream cardstock, trimmed down using my "layering Ruler" set, then adhered to card flap. Raided my butterfly stash and adhered the butterfly.

Main Card Flap:  Die cut the Spellbinders "Labels 41 - Decorative Accents" largest frame from cream toned cardstock, sponged with the Peeled Paint and adhered to card flap. Stamped the quote ("Friends Are Those...") using the black, then used the die to trace the inside contour and fussy cut around it. adhered to flap. added the 4 amber pearls.

Left Inside Flap:  Stamped the ginkgo leaves using Distress greens, misted with water and stamped on cream cardstock. Repeated till I filled the area. Trimmed down, and used a circle punch to nick the corners.

Stamped the flourish frame using the toffee and embossing with Queen's Gold. Stamped the frame again on another piece of cream cardstock and fussy cut the inside contour. Stamped the "Happy Birthday" using the black and clear embossed. Adhered to card flap. Added a couple tiny butterflies from my stash.

Inside:  The cream cardstock is the unembossed side of the front flap. I had added the green strip on the right side to give the illusion of an equal border frame around.

Stamped the ginkgo leaves using the distress and various greens, misting with water on white cardstock. Fussy cut around them (or you can create a silhouette image and eCut them... which is really what I did). Adhered to card.

Stamped the flowers (Altenew "Floral Motifs") onto a cream toned vellum using the toffee and embossing with the Queen's Gold. These I really fussy cut around... Added some Quickie Glue pen to the centers and sprinkled with Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter "Gold". Adhered to card using 3D foam squares in the center only. Tied a fork bow from a salmon colored narrow ribbon and adhered to card. Added another butterfly from my stash.

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial and maybe you'll give it a try... Have a great and creative day.
