Thanks For Being My Friend

Hello and Happy Friday!!!  It's Wanda here today sharing a card using the Thanks die, a stamp from the Thanks Cuddlers set, the large Flourishing Inside Heart, and a flourish (smaller version of the large flourish) from the Flourishes 1 set.

I've cut Thanks from an Idea-ology mask sheet and stuck it to a piece of white cardstock. These die cuts are gorgeous with their beautiful letters and fancy tails but this also means that when making a mask there is not a lot of adhesive holding the mask to your substrate and it can be easy to move them out of place.  If you roll over the mask with a brayer it does help it to hold to the paper better but you still need to be careful when inking because you can lift the mask.  I think the effect is worth having to be a bit more careful.

For this card I've used Distress Inks (mustard seed, spiced marmalade, broken china, barn door, and peeled paint) inking and blending over the mask until the paper was covered.  I removed the mask, flicked water over the piece, blotted and dried it.  "for being my friend" is stamped with Archival Ink jet black.  Blue dots are added to Thanks with a Tombow marker.  The edges of the panel are inked with Distress Ink vintage photo and I stamped along the top and bottom edges using the flourish image and vintage photo.  At this point I thought there seemed to be too much space between the words and the edges and thought "maybe I'll tear off the top and bottom, use just the center and layer it up on a card".  I tore off the two edges and as they were laying there I thought "that would look good, I can layer all 3 pieces onto another piece".  I used a piece of corrugated packaging to layer on.  The bottom left corner needed something and the flourishing inside heart was perfect.  It's stamped with barn door onto a scrap of Specialty Stamping Paper.  Everything is attached to a folded white card.  The final dimensions are 5 1/2" x 6".

Thanks for following along!!!  Have a great weekend!!!

Wow, this turned out beautiful :) Can you use that mask over again for another card?

Thank you, Mickey!!! Yes, the mask can be used again. You can just wipe the ink off the top or if it needs more than that, rinse it under water and let it air dry with the adhesive side up. To store the mask, I'm keeping mine stuck to the outside of the die package.
