It's the countdown to Christmas! Bring on the glitz with this bright Christmas Word Tree card (or it would be awesome in a frame!). It's Suzanne here today. For this project simply choose the A Way With Word dies that you have (or maybe pick up a couple more) and start die cutting!
I still have Noel and Dec.25 die cut in gold for another project. All you need to do is choose words that get progressively wider. Don't worry about overlapping flourishes!
There are really no directions for making these. Simply decide which words you will use and die cut them. Deciding on the size of the triangle might be the hardest part. Here is how you can do that part!
Instructions:
- Die cut your a Way With Words from gold cardstock.
- Take a scrap piece of paper and draw a pencil line down the middle with a ruler from top to bottom. Lay out your words as they will appear on the final card, centered over the pencil line, aligned with the bottom of the paper. Mark the edges of the bottom (largest) word. Make sure the word really is centered. If not, measure the distance from the center line to the marks and adjust.
- Draw a pencil line from the mark on the bottom edge to the center line above the smallest word at the top. Duplicate this line from the other mark at the bottom to finish your triangle. Cut this shape from the paper you will use for the tree. The triangle for my card has a 5" base and is 7.75" high.
- Adhere the words to the triangle tree as shown and add some embellishments if you wish. Create a side-fold card base that is sized for your tree and mount your tree onto it with foam adhesive.

If you're looking for a different, less formal look, here is an idea! This one is more winter themed, but it could just as easily be Christmas. Make it in the look that's right for you! Mix and match your designer papers to create branches on your tree. Have fun!!
The triangle for this card measures 5.5" across the base and is 8" high. The "branches" are 1.25" high. The smallest is 1.25" wide, then 2" wide, then 2.75", 3.5" and finally 4.5" wide. Depending on the papers you use, you might not even need the triangle.
