Dream Scrapbook Layout

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout that features the Quietfire Designs Dream die from Elizabeth Crafts Designs and some butterfly embellishments from a Quietfire Design digital cut file.

This was a very simple layout to create.  I just layered different pieces of Graphic 45 patterned paper, putting some of the smaller pieces on with dimensional foam adhesive and embellishing with machine stitching and some butterflies cut from Quietfire Designs Butterfly Heart Card cutting file. This file is so versatile - you can cut beautiful butterflies, or the butterfly doily as needed, or create the whole card.  The file is available on the Quietfire Designs website as an svg file, or in the Silhouette Store here.  I cut the butterflies out of white cardstock and added a little glitter with a Wink of Stella glitter pen.

The page title is this die manufactured by Elizabeth Craft Designs.  Perfect for a page about a boy and his books.  Happy Scrapbooking!

Supplies Used:  Graphic 45 patterned paper and metal key, Quietfire Design Dream die and butterfly digital cutting file, Sizzix Big Shot and Eclips 2 electronic die cutting machine, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L dimensional adhesive and tape runner, May Arts ribbon, Brother sewing machine, Zig Wink of Stell and black pens.

"Dream" mixed media card

Hello Crafty Friends!  Kathy Jo here today sharing a mixed media card using the beautiful "Dream" die:

This lovely die has been used on many of my projects and it is definitely one of my favorites.  (Yes, I love all of Suzanne's dies and there are some that I seem to go to frequently: Believe, Memories, Remember, Merry Christmas and happy.)  I pulled out this favorite die and played with mixed media products to create the Dream card.

Instructions:

1.  Create a top fold card 5.25" x 5.25" from Kraft card stock.
2.  Cut pinstripe patterned paper (from My Mind's Eye) to 5" x 5" and distress edges.  Apply white gesso to the center of the paper and lightly along the edges.  Dry.
3.  Place Tim Holtz' "Tracks" stencil vertically on paper and apply Archival Ink in Coffee.
4.  Place Tim Holtz' "Bubble" stencil on paper and apply Coffee archival ink.
5.  Place Tim Holtz' "Flourish" stencil on paper and apply Ranger Texture paste using palette knife.
6. Adhere scrap cheese cloth and tissue tape as shown.  Dye ribbon using Distress Stain in Tumble Glass.  Adhere lace ribbon.  Create bow and adhere bow/ribbon to card front.
7. Die cut Dream using white card stock.  Apply Stickles in Peacock.  Sprinkle Tim Holtz Glitter dust on still wet Stickles.  Air dry.  Adhere to card front.  Glue white rose to ribbon.

The card was so fun to make and the Dream pops on the card as it is sparkly and pretty.

Dream With Your Eyes Wide Open

Happy Monday!!!  It's Wanda here today!!  I know... we don't always like Mondays... but we can chose to not let them get us down and instead To Dream!!!  I'm sharing a card using the fabulous A Way With Words Dream metal cutting die and the stamp Dream with your eyes wide open. 

Directions -

1.  Cut white cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2".  Fold to create top-fold 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card base. 

2.  Die cut Dark Fuchsia paper with Stitched Rectangle die, splatter with white paint thinned with water, add white paint to edges.

3.  Scrape blue and purple paint onto 1/4 sheet of white cardstock using an old plastic card, dry.  Stencil white paint in some areas of the piece.  Die cut piece with stitched rectangle die. Add white paint to edges. Attach to Dark Fuchsia panel. 

4.  Stamp "Dream with your eyes wide open" onto panel with black ink.  Add white highlights to the word Dream with gel pen.

5.  Die cut Dream from Gold Shimmer Sheetz and from Dark Fuchsia paper.  Attach to panel as shown.

6.  Die cut flower from Gold Shimmer Sheets, determine placement on panel, make hole through flower and panel, attach with brad, bend up flower petals.

7.  Attach panel to folded card.

Dream

Hello!  Diana here to share a starry card with you.  I made this background a little differently than the way I usually do.  Instead of using distress inks, I used watercolors.  Once one layer was dried, I painted another layer on top of it.  I did this 3 times to get a darker effect than just one layer of heavy of watercolor.  

I then adhered different die-cuts of clouds from vellum and star-shaped glitter. Since I knew that the glue would show through the vellum, I purposely placed glue strategically near the curved edges of the different clouds.  I die-cut the Dream out of gray card stock and then embossed in silver twice.

I Dream Of You - Sleeping Under a Quilt - Love You

Yogi here today with a quilt background technique that I especially love doing... Also using decorative paper - Kanban - that I recently got.

I scored and folded my cream toned  card (5"w x 7"h).

Created a stencil from Graffix clear plastic cutting a 1.5" square in the center of a larger piece. Placed the stencil on the lower left hand edge of my Soft Finish cardstock and sponged Distress "Gathered Twigs" very lightly around the bottom and right edges of the stencil. Then went a little darker near the corner creating the shadow. Sponged some "Spun Sugar on the lower side (diagonally) and some "Fossilized Amber" on the upper side - very lightly. Added some little streak lines to mimic puckered shadows from a button. Moved the stencil over to the right and butting up to the square just colored, repeated the process. Continued with all the other squares.

Inked up a little flower stamp (ggdesigns.net "Tea Pot Cup" set) using Distress markers ("Worn Lipstick" & "Lucky Clover"), misting with water and stamping, misting with water again and stamping a 2nd generation. Added white pearls at each juncture.

Hand cut a rectangle 1/2"w frame same size as my card base from Kanban "Bella Floral Damask Dark Chocolate" cardstock. Adhered my quilt to frame. Adhered some greenish lace and mauvish narrow ribbon diagonally on opposite edges, then adhered to card front.

Die cut my words from gold metallic cardstock (inside of a Bernard Callebaut chocolate box... the chocolate was delicious...). Adhered to front. PS the "i" is actually an exclamation mark upside down... ROFL Newest "A Way With Words" dies ("Calligraphic Elements 1" set . One of my DT sisters mentioned it looked like a candle - use your imagination... and "Dream" and parts of "Thinking of You" set also available on Quietfire Design HERE

On the inside: I repeated the quilting technique, adding a couple borders of butterflies (Darcie's "Paris" JCS172 stamp set) inking with Versafine Toffee and clear embossing.

Stamped the quote ("Sleeping Under a Quilt..."), inking with the toffee and then here and there with Black Onyx, clear embossing.

Stamped the "Love You ("Just For You" 4pce set) with the black on white cardstock, clear embossed, die cut with Spellbinder's "Classic Hearts" set, sponging around the edges with "Spun Sugar". Adhered to card and added 3 mini red buttons.

A bright and cheerful Dream...

Hello Crafty Friends!  Kathy Jo here sharing a card using one of the new beautiful Quietfire Design dies.  Oh- I am so loving the new dies and the Dream die is one of my favorites!  When I first started playing with the Dream die, I had a difficult time deciding what my first Dream project should be: a scrapbook page using one of my furry family members sleeping, a graduation card, an inspirational mixed media canvas or a sweet butterfly tag.  I ended up using some bright and happy Dylusions sprayed papers papers to make a cheerful butterfly Dream card.  

The white Dream die cut pops against the bright background.  I used scrap pieces of sprayed card stock to punch some butterflies.  Behind the Dream die cut I spritzed a Picket Fence Distress Marker.
