A Baby Is Such a Beautiful Way

Hello Quietfire fans!  Betsy here today sharing with you this beautiful baby
card that uses both a stamp and a cut file!

I assembled all my pieces and used my cut file first.  I sized it and decided not to use the
entire file for the onsie.  It has a smaller once that sits on top with a heart.  But I wanted
to stamp on the onsie, so only cut out the main image.

I cut my patterned paper to 4" x 5 1/4" and adhered to an A2 size top folding white card base.
I took some off white twine and threaded it through the heart doily.  The I made a bow
with the remaining twine.

I then stamped my sentiment using Modern Gilding Powders in Gothic Black.  Once again,
I used a hybrid black ink that stays wet a bit longer instead of clear embossing
ink.  It gives such a nice clean image.   Time to assemble my card.
I glued the doily on flat just off to the side and trimmed off the overhang.  Then I
used foam tape to adhere the stamped onsie.  I also cut out a few of the medallions
from the patterned paper and used them on the inside of the card and on the envelope.
I added a few enamel dots and it was done!

Hug Book page: A baby is such a beautiful way...

Hello All!  Kathy Jo here sharing a page for a baby Hug Book.  If you missed last week's post regarding the hug book, here is a link.  And here is the link to the hug book in the store.

The description sums it up well:

Hug Books are reusable, expandable and use no harmful glues to hold the pages together. Simply pull back the cover and the spring clamp opens up, insert the pages and it snaps back together. If you make a mistake or want to add a few extra pages, simply reopen the spring clamp and adjust as necessary.

I like the ease and versatility of the book.  This would be a sweet gift for a grandma, new parents, newlyweds, a friend's birthday, Christmas gift, etc.  It is available in black or tan and can fit in a purse (Helllooooo brag book!).  The pages inserted should be flexible so it probably is best to not stack too high with flowers, bows, etc, if you do want it to be a purse friendly brag book.  Admittedly, it was strange to not stack a lot on the page but I am happy with the results.  I started with Quietfire's A baby is a beautiful way stamp:
A Baby is Such a Beautiful Way
It was stamped in green on ivory Graphic 45 paper.  Next, it was die cut using Spellbinders' Labels 47. Yellow Graphic 45 paper was die cut using Spellbinders' Labels 47 Decorative Elements and Distress ink in Fired Brick applied along the edges.  The dies were mounted on Graphic 45's Secret Garden paper that was cut to  6" wide x 4" high.  It was scored 0.25" from the end for easy flipping in the book:
On the back side I added four die cut corners so that the gift receiver can add a favorite baby photo.
Here is a look at the front again:
Quick and easy first page to a book!  A gift book could be made in a reasonably short time with a pad of paper, some sentiments and photo corners.  Gotta love it when a beautiful album or book can be made in reduced time!

Hope you enjoyed the first page of my hug book!  Will share more when I complete them!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
Hugs,
Kathy Jo
