Thanks! Connie Nichol Guest Designer

Hello everyone! It's Connie Nichol here. I’m so happy to be joining Quietfire Design as a guest designer this month.

I had a lot of fun playing around with a couple of Quietfire Design digital cutting files and combining them with the “Thanks” metal cutting die produced by Elizabeth Craft Designs.  These cards are so quick to put together and the designs on both the digital and metal die cuts look so elegant, especially when combined with metallic paper.

For these cards, I used the Quietfire Maple Tree Four Seasons cut file.  In addition to the tree, the file contains leaves, snowflakes, a bird and a swing, so you can customize your tree to look however you like!

I use a Sizzix Eclips2 as my electronic die cut machine, and it was a snap to load the svg files and cut trees and leaves of different sizes out of Core’dinations specialty cardstock.    I added a little stitching with gold thread to fancy it up even more.

This card uses the Flourished Leaf Rectangular Frame cut file available from Quietfire Design.  I loaded the svg file into my Eclips 2 and sized it so it would fit perfectly around the “Thanks”  metal die.  I love the flexibility of manipulating digital design files to whatever size you need.  And I love the simplicity of using a metal die and manual die cutting machine.  Combining them kind of gives me the best of both worlds.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to go check out the gorgeous digital cutting files that are available in the Quietfire store.
