See the Magic Art Journal Page

Hey Quietfire Fans! I'm excited to be back on the blog today sharing with you my See the Magic Art Journal Page which features a variety of Quietfire Stamps and A Way With Words Dies. Grab a cup of your favourite beverage and I hope that you enjoy learning how to recreate my art journal page at home.

To start, choose a page in your art journal. Apply Matte medium to the art journal page and adhere some book pages or ephemera pages to the page. Apply a coat of matte medium over top of the page. If needed, dry with a heat tool.

Apply a coat of White Gesso to the page. If needed, dry with a heat tool.

Sprinkle Magenta Nuance in Spring Green, Aquamarine, Rosebud and Ocean randomly onto the page. Spritz the powder with water. Dry with a heat tool.

Randomly place a linen stencil on the page and use a baby wipe to apply Vibrant Turquoise Dylusions paint through it. Repeat the previous three more times. Randomly place a hive stencil on the page and use a baby wipe to apply Fresh Lime Dylusions Paint through it. Repeat the previous step three more times. The last stencil you'll use is the A Way With Words - Feather, place the stencil randomly on the page and use a baby wipe to apply Slate Grey Dylusions paint through it. Repeat the previous step six more times. Dry with a heat tool if needed.

Rub Mermaid Lagoon, Hickory Smoke and Pumice Stone Distress Crayons as desired onto the page. I rub mine into the ridges of the page.

Place the Tea Stain stamp from the Tea & Thee Stamp set onto a block. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the tea stain and stamp randomly onto your page. Repeat the previous step four more times. Place the Dotted Harlequin Background stamp onto a block. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the diamond background and stamp randomly onto your page. Repeat the previous step six more times. Set the page aside to allow the ink to dry. Rub Hickory Smoke Distress Crayon around the edges of the art journal page.

Die cut two of the leaf frames from the Rosebud Wreath & Elements A Way With Words Die out of white cardstock. Leave one leaf frame white.
Die cut a 3 1/2" circle out of white cardstock. Adhere the circle to the other leaf frame. Blend Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Ink to the frame. Spritz with water. Dry the frame with a heat tool. Apply Emboss It Ink to the Magic stamp and stamp onto the frame. Sprinkle Glacier White Embossing Powder overtop of the sentiment. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Die cut two of the small flourishes from the Flourished Frame A Way With Words die out of white cardstock.

From the Butterfly Flourish die, die cut two of the medium butterflies out of white cardstock. Sprinkle Spring Green and Aqaumarine Magenta Nuance powder overtop of each butterfly. Spritz water on the powder. Dry the butterflies with a heat tool.

From the same die, die cut the large butterfly out of white cardstock. Sprinkle Aquamarine Magenta Nuance powder over the butterfly. Spritz with water and then dry the butterfly with a heat tool.

From the same die, die cut the small butterfly twice out of white cardstock.

Adhere one of the flourishes 2 3/8" from the left and 2" from the top of the page. Adhere the other flourish 3 1/8" from the left and 3 1/2" from the bottom of the page. Adhere the white leaf frame 3/4" from the right and 3 1/4" from the bottom of the page.

Adhere the large butterfly 2" from the right and 1 7/8" from the top of the page. Foam square the other leaf frame with the sentiment 1 3/4" from the left and 3" from the top of the page.

Foam square one of the medium butterflies 1" from the right and 1" from the top of the page. Foam square the other medium butterfly 1 3/4" from the left and 3 1/4" from the bottom of the page. Foam square one small butterfly to the top left side of the leaf frame. Foam square the other small butterfly 1 1/4" from the left and 2 3/4" from the bottom of the page.

To finish off your art journal page. Splatter Black Soot Distress Spray Stain over top of the page. Set the page aside to dry.

Here are a couple of close up's of the art journal page.
