Every day is a Journey Tag

Hey Quietfire Fans! It feels like Spring has finally arrived and with the thought of Spring on my mind, I created this fun Every day is a Journey Tag which features a variety of Quietfire Design Stamps and A Way With Words dies. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage as you learn how to recreate my tag at home.

To start, you'll need a tag that measures 2 5/8" x 5" out of white cardstock. Next on a gel plate, you'll need to put Sky, Lime and Lemon Heavy Body Acrylic paint on the plate, use the brayer to combine the paint colours together. Press in some bubble wrap randomly on the plate. Place the tag facedown on the gel plate and push it into the plate. Take a separate piece of paper, and rub it onto the gel press to pick up whatever colour is left. Put Fuschia, Sky and Blush Heavy Body Acrylic paint on to the plate and use the brayer to combine the paint colours, press the now gel printed tag randomly onto the plate to get hints of the colour on your tag. Ink the edges of the tag using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Once the paint has dried on your tag, apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Grid Background stamp and stamp off onto a piece of scrap paper. Stamp the grid background randomly sevens times onto your tag

With the gel printed scrap piece of paper, die cut a 2 1/4" Fitted Oval out of the paper. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Every day is a Journey stamp and stamp in the middle of the oval. Ink the edges of the oval using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut the Flourished Oval Frame out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Ink the edges of the frame using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

On the gel plate, place Lemon, Lime, Turquoise and Tangerine. Brayer the colours together and press a piece of scrap paper into the plate. Let the paint dry. From the Small Flowers die, die cut three flowers out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. From the gel printed paper, die cut three small flowers and three centers. Ink the edges of the centers and the gel printed flowers using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Adhere the oval to the flourished frame and foam square the flourished frame to the middle of the tag. Adhere the flowers together and shape as desired. Adhere one flower in the top left corner of the frame and adhere the other two flowers in the bottom right hand corner of the frame.

To finish off the tag, tie a twine bow at the top of the tag.

Here are a few close up's of my Every day is a Journey Tag.

Thanks so much for joining me today and taking a look at my project! I hope that I've inspired you to want to recreate my tag at home.
