U R Beautiful, Unforgettable, and Amazing

Today I'm sharing a set of cards with you that I really enjoyed making - especially because they include butterflies and I was able to use both the negative and positive of some dies.

The Momenta alphabet die are pretty big so you can't fit too many letter dies on there so I had to resort to "text" lingo.  Any letter dies work for this design and even printing out a big U and R in a block font would work too.

Suzanne has several Quietfire Design word dies that are great adjectives that would work with the "you are" including Brave, Bold, perfect, family.

I centered and die cut the U and R out.  I popped up the negative on grey card stock so the letters would pop but not too much.  I had sponged distress inks on a sheet of card stock a while back (this is also a great way to use up scrap backgrounds out of watercolor paper).  I had enough to die cut several butterflies out so I made 3 cards with them.

This last card was made by using the U and R from the other cards and stacking them on top of each other.  I did die cut another U and R to make it a little thicker.

Unforgettable Tulips Scrapbook Layout

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout featuring a number of Quietfire Design dies.

I started out gazing at Rosebud Wreath and Elements cutting die set and thinking to myself, it would be very cool to use the small wreath die as a photo frame.  Then, I started thinking about the best kind of photographs to use and the fact that the rosebuds remind me of tulips, and well, one thing led to another.....

This is such a cool die set - you can use some or all of the elements to create cards or to accent scrapbook pages.  It's very versatile.  The wreath fits perfectly on a 4x6 photo.

I cut a separate wreath out of green cardstock to frame the die cut photo, but look how pretty the photo wreath is.  I'm saving it for a future card.

I used Unforgettable as a page title and added a couple of flourished butterflies.  It's a very simple layout but I think the die cut photos add a unique element to the page.  And if you ever get a chance to go to the tulip festival in the Skagit Valley in upper Washington State, it's simply beautiful.  Thanks for stopping by, Connie

Happy Birthday, Unforgettable and Magic - More Photo Cards

Hello, Connie Nichol here again with three more cards using a photograph as a base and adding a die cut word from the selection of Way with Words dies from Quietfire Design.  I am in love with this idea.  It is such a quick way to make a unique card for that special someone.

It's also quite a frugal way to make cards - it costs only about 15 cents to print a 4x6 photo if you take advantage of a sale promotion.  And of course, the metal dies are a great value because you can basically use them forever to cut infinite numbers of die cut words.

Adhere the die cut directly on the photo if there is room, or on the card base if there is not. You don't have to get fancy.  I had some leftover patterned paper and burlap that I used up, but really, it's all about the photograph and the die cut word.

I hope you are inspired to create some beautiful cards.  Here are the dies I used:

Other Supplies Used:  Elizabeth Craft Designs patterned paper and cardstock, EK Success border punch, Brother sewing maching, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L adhesive, burlap, ribbon.
