Hi Everyone it's me Teresa and i am sharing a painted project
today that i did with something i found while cleaning up
in my garage a few weeks back. I used to do alot of
decorative painting and had lots of leftover things so when
i found this star box i new it would be perfect to put my
sentiment on. I used #5970 "If I had a star" and i really like
the way it came out using the wood and paper together.
To make this project i first sanded my box really well
and then painted it white. Then i sanded it again and then
painted the outsides with Antique Gold (Deco Art-Americana)
and let it all dry really well. Next i traced around the box
with a piece of paper and cut it down to make a pattern
for the yellow dotted paper which i cut out. To adhere it
to the box i used my favorite "Perfect Paper Adhesive" and
let that dry completly. Don't forget to push out all the bubbles
under the paper as it is drying so it will be flat and nice.
And then i stamped my beautiful sentiment on yellow
printed paper to match with Vintage Sepia Versafine ink
and embossed it with clear. I used a Spellbinders Standard
Circles Large die to cut it out and did another layer with the
Scalloped Circles to put under it to make it stand out more.
And then i glued it on with 3D foam dots and added some
pretty flowers and now i can fill it with goodies to give
to someone special that i have in mind.
Mixing papers and wood is really fun and you can create
some beautiful gifts--- so have fun, be creative with it and get
out all those Quietfire stamps you have and have a go at it....
