HOW BEAUTIFULLY LEAVES GROW OLD- CARD

Hi Everyone! This is Holly, and I'm sharing a couple cards today that have the same masked design, yet look so different.

I began by cutting my tree mask, using MAPLE TREE-FOUR SEASONS
e-cut file. You get SO MUCH with this file! I just need the tree today.

I laid the tree mask on white card stock, off to the side a bit, then sponged on DISTRESS INKS, peeled paint, fired brick and stormy sky. I applied the inks more heavily around the tree and card edges. Using the same inks, I stamped the leaves randomly, hoping for a breezy day look. The sentiment was stamped with jet black ARCHIVAL INK. The sentiment and leaves are from HOW BEAUTIFULLY THE LEAVES GROW OLD stamp set. Love it!
On a scrap of white card stock, I stamped a few more leaves, cut them out, and stuck them to the lower area of the card.

So simple, I had to give you another one.

The second card starts with stamping Friendship is a Sheltering Tree (FRIENDSHIP QUOTEMARKS SET) all over the white card stock, using dried marigold and antique linen distress inks. The tree mask was placed over the stamping, again to the left side a bit, then sponged over with faded jeans, broken china and chipped sapphire distress inks.
Two stamps from THE WOODS WOULD BE VERY SILENT  were stamped on white card stock, then cut with Spellbinders CLASSIC OVALS. The ovals were sponged around the edges with more antique linen and dried marigold ink. All three pieces were then edged with jet black archival ink by rolling the edges against the ink pad.
The ovals were attached with foam tape and black gems were added to the card base.

I hope you try masking. It provides an easy background for your card.

Thank you for looking today!

Being Thankful and Friends

Hello Everyone and happy Monday to all of you! It's Teresa here today.

With all the new cling stamps that are being released it was really hard to
chose one to use today so i decided to do a few fancy ones to share with you.

So my first share is made with a new stamp set called Always be my Friend
that has 3 amazing stamps in the set.  I love this saying and i know the perfect
person i am going to send this away to.  I used Kaisercraft paper called
75 cents 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 paper pad and it had gorgeous papers in it that
you can use with all of your favorite Quietfire stamps.  And the dies that
i used are from Spellbinders and this center oval is called Elegant Ovals and
then i used the Borders 2 above and below it.  I love how all these lacy dies
really make the stamp stand out and look that much more vintage...

To stamp my image I used Ranger Archival ink in dark coffee and added
clear embossing powder to define the edges better.  There are lots of
beautiful swirls on this stamp and i wanted all of them to show up..

And...For this second card i used another of the new Cling Stamp sets
called Give Thanks and i wanted to really make this fall looking
so I used lots of papers from a Kaisercraft pad called Miss Empire and
another die from Spellbinders called Majestic Labels One.  I cut
the outside layer of this out in the deep orange color and then I
cut the inside out with the coordinating die set Labels One and
popped it up with a few 3D Foam dots.  Then i added lots of flowers
from Petaloo and Prima and that was it.  The layers are simple and
lots of color to really make it feel like fall is coming!!

Thanks for stopping over and don't forget
Tuesday Winsday tomorrow for a chance to win...

Gate Fold Card - Friendship Quote Marks, Happy Family Days, You never Know

Yogi here today with a gate fold card and a multi-looped bow.

I scored my cream cardstock at the 2.5" and the 7.5" points, then trimmed down the center where the sides meet to get a perfect fit. Embossed both sides with Cuttlebug "Bamboo" 5 x 7" embossing folder, using the "off the edge" technique to only emboss the front of the card on the right flap. Lightly sponged Distress Crushed Olive over the high points.

Die cut the lattice piece from cream cardstock and used the rubber mat to emboss the designs as well. Lightly sponged using my dirty brown sponge over the edges. Die cut the underlayer from Chyiogami paper (fall colors/leaf pattern) and adhered to my lattice piece. Stamped the quote with Versafine Vintage Photo and touched areas with Black Onyx, clear embossed and die cut with the center die of the set. Sponged again with my dirty brown sponge and adhered to lattice piece. Cut another cream toned underlayer piece and adhered to lattice assembly. Adhered the lattice assembly to the front of the left side.

Cut another cream toned underlayer and adhered it to the inside of the card, matching the edges and only adhering to  the front flap edge. This leaves a pocket type opening for the right side flap to fit into to keep card closed.

Created my bow by making several loops from black and cream toned gauze ribbon. Cut ribbon to 4", adhere to form a loop with a small piece of Sookwang tape.

I used a piece of thin string to pinch the first few loops in the center to give more of a bow look, tying the string in the back. Used an awl to pierce my bow in the middle and inserted my pearl brad. Kept stacking the loops, arranging them in a circle pattern. Punched out a 3/4" circle for the base. Opened my brad points then adhered the circle to the card. Cut a couple tail ends of ribbon and adhered them to the front with some Sookwang tap, trimming them to fit the contour of the design. (should have cut a slit and stuffed them under... hindsight). Cut ends into fishtails.

On a piece of brownish Kraft cardstock, stamp the left part of the frame with Versafine Toffee using a stamp positioner and some tape on the stamp as a mask. Ink the stamp, remove the tape and stamp. Emboss with Queen's Gold. Stamp the right side of the frame in a similar way using the stamp positioner.

Stamp the quote  using Versafine Vintage Sepia and touching areas with Black Onyx, clear emboss. Trim cardstock down and adhere to inside of card.
