Nature is full of Genius card

Welcome to our Quietfire blog and thank you for stopping by to see what is new today.  I used a brand new rubber stamp called "Nature is full of Genius" to create a really simple card on printed card stock and i am really happy with the way it came out.  The paper is a new winter paper from Kaisercraft and it has those pinecones on both sides so i thought how fun to just cut half of it off and then stamp my image in a nice light brown to go with it.  Then i put a kraft colored paper behind it to make it stand out and then put that on an ivory card.  Super easy right?

And since i am mostly about texture i thought i would add a few diamond Stickles on the pinecones to make them pop out more and tied a bit of twine across the bottom into a bow.  It's simple and easy and i can pretty much send it to anyone just to let them know i am thinking about them.

Here is a quick link to the new stamps for you: "Nature is full of genius"

Thank you again for stopping by....  Teresa

Happy Birthday with New Elizabeth Craft dies

It's almost the beginning of my favorite season here in California and today i am sharing a new card with the new dies designed by Suzanne Cannon for Elizabeth Craft.  I used 2 dies for my card, one is the new smaller version of Happy Birthday that i just love and the other is that super adorable frame that you can make to go around it.  I used super basic papers and cut the dies from ivory and kraft cardstock and then added pretty fall flowers on the side to set the mood.

And the dies cut like butter so you can make a whole set of these to give in different papers for gifts.

Be sure and head over to the Elizabeth Craft website to see more of her new dies and have fun this weekend creating something fun.

Good Friends are priceless...

Having good friends is priceless gift to all of us so having a nice card on hand to send could really mean alot when it's needed.  Today i am sharing a fall color inspired card made with the "Always be my Friend" stamp set #5615.  I used pretty papers from Basic Grey and lots of leaves for fall.

I loved this paper because the colors looked so good with my image that i
stamped in navy.  The set is called "Persimmon" and all the neat little dies are from
Spellbinders.  The ribbon i had in my stash from Really Reasonable Ribbon.com.
I loved the natural look of how it all went together...

Below is a picture of the stamp set.  It's one of 3 beautiful stamps hand written
by Suzanne and each is such a beautiful work of art.

Thanks so much for stopping over today and hope you are enjoying
fall wherever you are in the world... Happy Crafting!!

Quietfire and Walnut Hollow Blog Hop - Harvest Blessings!

HarvestBlessingsSide2

Good morning!  Sherry here and it’s my turn to welcome you to the Walnut Hollow & Quietfire Design 2014 Blog Hop!  We’re pleased you’re joining us and know you’ll find lots of creative inspiration for combining Quietfire stamps and/or digital cutting files with the beautiful Walnut Hollow wood products.

QFD WH BlogHop 09 14

For my project, I chose to work with the Walnut Hollow Tabletop Sign (Item No. 40187)

40187

and Quietfire Design Silhouette Digital Cutting File Harvest Blessings.

Image001

To begin, the Tabletop Sign was painted white, antiqued with different shades of browns and then sanded.  I love the distressed look achieved using my palm sander!

HBStep1

The Silhouette Cameo and vinyl were used to make a stencil of the sentiment, Harvest Blessings.

HBStep2

The stencil was cut in two parts, covered with contact paper and then applied in stages to the sign.

HBStep3

Using the same tan/brown paints used for the antiquing, the sentiment was painted onto the sign.  Blessings was painted first, allowed to dry and Harvest was painted last.

HBStep4

While the paint was still wet, the vinyl was removed.

HBStep5

To finish the sign, I dug through my fall decoration boxes and found some loose flowers and pumpkins to glue to the sign.

HarvestBlessingsSide1

Both sides of the sign were completed, so that it could sit on my dining room table as a centerpiece for the holidays.

Being Thankful and Friends

Hello Everyone and happy Monday to all of you! It's Teresa here today.

With all the new cling stamps that are being released it was really hard to
chose one to use today so i decided to do a few fancy ones to share with you.

So my first share is made with a new stamp set called Always be my Friend
that has 3 amazing stamps in the set.  I love this saying and i know the perfect
person i am going to send this away to.  I used Kaisercraft paper called
75 cents 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 paper pad and it had gorgeous papers in it that
you can use with all of your favorite Quietfire stamps.  And the dies that
i used are from Spellbinders and this center oval is called Elegant Ovals and
then i used the Borders 2 above and below it.  I love how all these lacy dies
really make the stamp stand out and look that much more vintage...

To stamp my image I used Ranger Archival ink in dark coffee and added
clear embossing powder to define the edges better.  There are lots of
beautiful swirls on this stamp and i wanted all of them to show up..

And...For this second card i used another of the new Cling Stamp sets
called Give Thanks and i wanted to really make this fall looking
so I used lots of papers from a Kaisercraft pad called Miss Empire and
another die from Spellbinders called Majestic Labels One.  I cut
the outside layer of this out in the deep orange color and then I
cut the inside out with the coordinating die set Labels One and
popped it up with a few 3D Foam dots.  Then i added lots of flowers
from Petaloo and Prima and that was it.  The layers are simple and
lots of color to really make it feel like fall is coming!!

Thanks for stopping over and don't forget
Tuesday Winsday tomorrow for a chance to win...

Ten Tiny Sentiments ....

Today i pulled out one of my favorite sets of sentiment stamps
and thought i would share a card with lots of pretty colors for fall.
Summer seemed like it went so fast this year and soon we will be seeing
the leaves fall from the trees and it will be time for apple picking again.!
So it just seemed right to start in with my fall cards to give...

My card today is made with the Ten Tiny Tag Sentiments #6382 that you
can see down below.  There are so many little sentiments to chose from
and there is sure to be something that you can use for cards,
tags and even treat bags.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a really
wonderful day... Teresa
