May Peace be your Gift Christmas Card

Hey Quietfire Fans! It's hard to believe that December is here and Christmas is right around the corner, so for today's project, I decided I would share with you a pretty card perfect to give to anyone on your Christmas list. By combining a variety of stamps, dies from A Way With Words and the Modern Gilding Powders, they were all perfect for creating my Christmas Card. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite Christmas beverage and learn how to recreate my Christmas Card at home.

To start, you'll need to choose three pieces of Christmas patterned paper. From one of the patterned papers, die cut a 2 1/2" Stitched Oval. Apply Emboss It Ink to the May Peace be your Gift sentiment and stamp in the middle of the stitched oval. Sprinkle Acanthus Teal Modern Gilding Powder overtop of the sentiment. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Ink the edges of the circle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut the Flourished Frame out of white cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the frame and sprinkle Acanthus Teal Modern Gilding Powder over the entire frame. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Die cut the Flourished Oval Frame out of white cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the frame and sprinkle Kells Gold Modern Gilding Powder over the entire frame. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

From the Flourished Christmas Minis 2, you'll need the snowflake die. Die cut the snowflake die three times out of white cardstock.

On a scrap piece of white cardstock, apply Emboss It Ink to the cardstock. Sprinkle Acanthus Teal Modern Gilding Powder over the cardstock piece. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Place the dot with star die from the Flourished Christmas Minis 2 on the Acanthus Teal piece and run through a die cutting machine. You'll need another scrap piece of white cardstock, apply Emboss It Ink to the cardstock. Sprinkle Kells Gold Modern Gilding Powder over the cardstock piece. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Now place the dot with star die from the Flourished Christmas Minis 2 on the Kells Gold piece and run through a die cutting machine. You'll need four Acanthus Teal dots and five Kells Gold dots.

Next, you'll need the other two patterned papers. From one of the patterned papers, die cut the 4 1/2" and 3 1/2" Stitched Rectangle. From the other patterned paper, die cut the 4" Stitched Rectangle. Ink the edges of all three rectangles using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Adhere the 4" stitched rectangle to the 4 1/2" stitched rectangle. Adhere the Flourished Frame die overtop of the 4" stitched rectangle.

Foam square the 3 1/2" stitched rectangle to the middle of the 4" stitched rectangle. Adhere the three snowflakes as desired on the 3 1/2" stitched rectangle.

Adhere the Flourished Oval Frame to the stitched oval. Foam square the stitched oval to the middle of the 3 1/2" stitched rectangle. Make sure that the oval covers part of the three snowflakes.

Adhere the Kells Gold and Acanthus Teal dots as desired on the oval and 3 1/2" stitched rectangle. To finish the card, cut a cardbase out of white cardstock that measures 5 3/4" x 9", score at 4 1/2". Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

May Peace be Your Gift Gift Bag

Hey Quietfire Fans! With November here and Christmas right around the corner, I decided I would share with you a fun gift bag perfect to put a little something in to give to a special someone in your life. By combining a variety of stamps as well as dies from A Way With Words, they were the perfect for my gift bag. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite Christmas beverage and learn how to recreate my gift bag at home.

To start, you'll need a muslin bag. Apply Fired Brick Distress Ink to the Merry Christmas Background and stamp randomly on the bag. Reapply ink to the stamp as needed. Apply Forest Moss Distress Ink to the Grid Background and stamp randomly on the bag. Reapply ink to the stamp as desired.

Die cut the Love, Joy & Peace Christmas Ornament out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the ornament. Sprinkle Acanthus Teal Modern Gilding Powder over the entire ornament. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Apply Emboss It Ink to the embossed ornament. Sprinkle Acanthus Teal Modern Gilding Powder over the entire ornament. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

From the Flourished Christmas Minis 2, die cut the snowflake twice out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Die cut a 2 1/4" Stitched Circle out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the May Peace be your Gift stamp and stamp in the middle of the circle. Sprinkle Kells Gold Modern Gilding Powder over the sentiment. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Apply Forest Moss Distress Ink to the Grid Background stamp, stamp off on a piece of paper and then stamp on the circle. Repeat the previous step until the circle is covered with a grid pattern. Ink the edges of the circle using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Peace on Earth die, die cut the stars twice out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to seven of the stars. Sprinkle Kells Gold Modern Gilding Powder over each star. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Apply Emboss It Ink to seven embossed stars. Sprinkle Kells Gold Modern Gilding Powder over each star. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Adhere one snowflake to the top right side of the bag. Adhere the other snowflake to the left middle of the bag.

Adhere the stitched circle to the flourished Christmas Ornament. Use foam squares to adhere the flourished Christmas ornament to the middle of the bag,  slightly overtop of the snowflakes.

To finish embellishing your gift bag, use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the stars as desired around the flourished Christmas ornament.

Here are a few closeup photos of the finished gift bag.

Flourished Deer Holiday Card Tutorial - Margie Higuchi, Guest Designer

Greeting from Chicago IL! I’m MargieHiguchi and am so thrilled to be guest designing this month. Many thanks to Suzanne and Kathy Jo for letting me play with some of Quietfire Design’s wonderful products. I hope that my project will inspire others to try a new idea or two. Featuring the Flourished Deer DieSetModernGilding Powder in Copper Scroll and in Burnished Silver, I will create a dimensional element with heat embossing and a sheet of 3D Foam Creative Sheet.

Holiday Card Details
To make three rectangular card panels, cut a piece of white vellum and red cardstock to 5 x 3 3/4-inches, and a 5 1/8 x 4-inch in ivory cardstock. For a horizontal fold A2 size card base, fold in half a piece of 8 1/2 x 5 1/2-inch Kraft cardstock.

With the red card panel, stamp the snowflake design from the May Peace Be Your Gift stamp set with VersaMark Ink and an acrylic block.

Next, pour Modern Gilding Powder in Burnished Silver over the card panel. Tap off excess.

Flourished Deer Element

Using a sheet of 3D Foam Creative Sheet SM, die-cut the Flourished Deer Die. Note: For easy removal from the die, use a piece of wax paper.

Using a heating tool, melt the powder to a beautiful metallic silver finish. Set aside to cool. Let's work on the beautiful Flourished Deer Die :)

Take the backing off of the deer die cut and center it to the white vellum card panel. Note: I dusted the vellum with anti-static powder for any pesky and unwanted embossing powder.

Then take the top liner off of the deer and pour Modern Gilding Powder in Copper Scroll over the die cut. Tap off excess. Melt the powder with a heating tool. Be careful not to burn the vellum.

Bringing It Together
Adhere the ivory card panel to the Kraft card base. Place the vellum card panel to the red card panel with Adhesive Dots Large behind the deer. I did this because I placed a Creative Photo Corners Silver on each of the corners to also secure and for a shiny accent. With the Crafty Foam Tape, I secured the panel to the card front to lift the layer.

Stamp the inside with the sentiment from the May Peace Be Your Gift Stamp Set and black ink to finish. Here is a second look at the finished project.
