Let Your Dreams Soar Tag

Hey Quietfire Fans! For today's project I'm sharing with you my Let Your Dreams Soar Tag. I combined a variety of dies, stamps and Modern Gilding Powders, which were all perfect for creating this tag. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my Let Your Dreams Soar Tag at home.

To start, die cut the small tag from the Planner Essentials - 2 die out of a piece of white cardstock. Apply Kitsch Flamingo Distress Ink to the Grid Background Stamp and stamp onto the tag.

Next, you'll need the Let Your Dreams Soar sentiment from the Soar Collection Stamp Set. Apply Emboss It Ink to the sentiment and stamp onto a piece of white cardstock. Sprinkle Copper Scroll Modern Gilding Powders over the stamped sentiment. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Fussy cut the sentiment into two strips.

Choose two leaves from the Create a Wreath Die. Die cut one of the leaves once out of a piece of green paper. Die cut the other leaf four times out of the same piece of green cardstock.

From the Christmas Accents die, you'll need the large, medium, small and extra small flowers. Die cut the large flower once, the medium flower three times, the small flower three times and the extra small flower three times.

From the Christmas Accents die, you'll need the flower centres. Die cut the flower centres three times out of white cardstock.

Shape the flowers as desired. For one flower, adhere a large, medium, small and extra small flower as well as two centres together. For the other two flowers, adhere a medium, small and extra small flower as well as two centres together.

Adhere two matching leaves to the top left corner of the tag. Adhere the remaining two leave to the bottom left side of the tag. Adhere the single leaf to the middle left hand side of the tag as desired.

Foam square the large flower in the middle of where the leaves meet. Adhere one flower about the large flower and adhere the other flower below the large flower.

Use foam squares to adhere the Let Your Dreams Soar sentiment to the middle right hand side of the tag as desired.

To finish the tag, tie a piece of white crinkle ribbon through the hole at the top of the tag.

Gilded Shoot for the Moon Card

Happy August! Kim here on the blog today with a quick share. Sorry I do not have a step by step photo view, as I had more to-dos than weekend available! 

My card was actually quite simple to put together!

1] Cut a 5x10” sheet of cardstock, fold in half for your card base.

2] I cut a 4.5” square of Ranger ~ Dina Wakley Media Collage Collective paper. Within that        square I cut a circle, set aside.

3] I added Elizabeth Craft Designs double seeded adhesive to both sides of a scrap of cardstock and cut out the star from the Flourished Christmas Minis 2 set.

4] Use the patterned paper as a guide to place your star and set aside one ever agin. Before revealing the adhesive on the top side of the star, wipe your card with a dryer sheet to remove static for the next step.

5] Now remove the protective backing on the star, revealing the adhesive and sprinkle with Modern Gilding Powder ~ Forever Platinum, use heat gun to set.

6] Adhere the patterned paper now,  I had some little gold, sequin stars that I glued down for extra interest and texture.

7] Using a stamp positioner, I stamped my sentiment on a piece of 5x5” Duralar film, using the card underneath as a guide to position. I used StazOn ink for it’s permanency and quick dry time.

8] I used four mini Glue Dots at the edges to secure the Duralar down and had four small blue stars that were perfect for hiding the the dots of adhesives!

Soar Collection

This is what I used for my card today:

First, I prepared my base of pale yellow card stock.  I cut it to 6" x 6 1/4"

and scored it at 3".  I cut my patterned paper to 2 3/4" x 6".

I stamped my images with a black hybrid ink and then heat embossed

them with the Gothic Black Modern Gilding Powders.  Despite my best

efforts with the anti-static powder bag, it was a hot and muggy day so

I did get stray  dots of the embossing powder.  😒

I decided to color my images with Copic markers to make the butterflies more

noticeable.  The colors I used:

Blues:  B00, B32, B23

Pinks:  RV000, R81, R85

Yellows:  Y11, Y02, Y15

I kept the shading to the centers and I was very careful not to let my markers

make contact with the melted embossing powder.  At this point I adhered my

panel to the card base. I felt it needed a bit of shimmer and shine so I first made

little butterfly bodies with light green glitter drops.  I also added just the tiniest

dots I could possibly make randomly over the background.  This really

made the black embossing powders dots seem not to stand out so much.

As a final embellishment I added some tiny clear iridescent butterflies.

And that finished my project!

Hi, Diana here playing with dies to frame this lovely stamp from the Soar Collection.  I found that the Sizzix Geo Frame die set had the perfect sized frame for this stamp and I built the card around that.

The flower dies were from the same set and the butterflies are from the Butterflies and Stars Spray dies set.  To make the frame easier to adhere because they are quite delicate, I used Elizabeth Craft Designs double adhesive on the back of my mirrorcard in silver.

The smaller flower and the largest butterfly is popped up using foam tape.

Shoot for the moon

Hi, there!  I'm here to share a card for the dreamers and the go-getters in your life... or maybe you need to give them a little nudge in that direction.  Haha!  It's the mom in me coming out.

I was in a bit of a rush to make this so I don't have any pics of the steps to make the card but it's pretty straightforward.  I started with a piece of vellum and embossed in black the sentiment from the Soar Collection. I usually emboss on vellum because I have the hardest time not having my ink smear. 

To make my starry night background, I started with blue cardstock and used Black Soot Distress Oxide to darken it.  I then splattered gold Finetec paint on it.  I turned the Star Spray die so that the smaller stars would be at the top.  I then covered a sheet of cardstock with Silver Sands Silk Microfine Glitter and cut the same stars out of that.  Set those aside for now.  Make a moon by using a circle die or punch and then use the same punch/die to turn it into a crescent moon.

The reason for those glittery stars (besides being very pretty) is so that I could have places to add adhesive to the vellum to adhere to the background.  As you know, you can see wherever you put adhesive on the vellum so I did select places and then covered them the with the glittery stars.

Love You To the Moon Treat Box

Oooo, such a sweet way to tell someone you love them!
Today is all about Valentine's Day projects at Elizabeth Craft Designs' blog and here is my contribution.

It's pretty in pink and fits a surprising number of treats so don't just buy one or two - yes, you may eat the excess!  And yes, I do have to go buy treats for staging my photos... :-) 

Here are the supplies you'll need:

AWW Gable Box  QFD | ECD

Instructions:

1. Die cut the Gable Box from patterned paper.  Position the second smallest Fitted Square die in the middle of one of the side panels of the Gable Box and die cut a window.
2. Cut a square from a transparency slightly larger than the window and adhere it to the inside of the box.  Assemble the Gable Box.
3. Die cut the butterfly from the Butterfly Flourish in a coordinating colour of cardstock.  
   
4. Stamp the sentiment on white cardstock and cut with banner dies or tag dies.  Back with a slightly larger mat and adhere the layers together.  Trim to size, if necessary.
5. Punch a 1/8" hole in the tag, thread ribbon through and tie with a bow to the Gable Box.
   
6. Gently curve the butterfly wings up and adhere its body to the Gable Box.
7. Fill with treats and share!  You're sending your love and if you fill with treats, you know you'll be loved right back!

Let Your Dreams Soar

Hello Everyone!  Betsy here on the blog today with this very ethereal card using the Soar Collection and Soar die!

I was very inspired by the dreamy quality of Suzanne's calligraphy and the images in the stamp set.  And the die cut "Soar" really needed some sparkle behind it!

I started by choosing a paper that went with my theme...in this case clouds and stars in the sky, cutting it to be 4" x 5 1/4".  I used the die, retaining the inner bits that I knew would have to be glued back on.  I cut a piece of heat resistant acetate and glued it behind the die cut. Then I adhered

the extra bits so the word would be clear. 

Then I put this panel in my MISTI to be stamped.  I placed all of the butterfly stamps and the sentiment on at one time.  I curved the sentiment...so easy to do as they are photopolymer.  I stamped everything in black hybrid ink and then heat embossed with Gothic Black Modern Gilding Powders.

At this point I colored in the outer parts of the butterfly wings with a white Prisma color pencil and then made hi-lights with a white gel pen.

Next it was time to make the shaker.  I placed foam tape all over the back of the panel.  I paid particular attention to the area around the die cut portion, making sure I placed my foam tape completely around the outer edge of it and that there were no gaps.

I cut a side folding A2 size card base out of dark blue card stock.  I placed my shakers bits, 

in this case clear diamond sparkles, onto the base where they would be 

captured by the foam taped top panel.

I gently placed my top panel over the shaker bits and made sure they were all contained before pressing it down firmly.

I added 5 iridescent star sequins to my piece and numerous tiny stars.  I added Liquid Pixie Dust on the actual paper in places where it was lighter.

This finished my card!

I haven't done a galaxy background in a while.  Sometimes it's nice to go back and use an old technique on  a card with some new stuff.

For this card, I actually started with blue card stock and sponged darker blues, purple and even black.  I have found it a lot easier to do that than to cover a sheet of white card stock - faster too!  This time I used a Tim Holtz Swirling Star dies with a silver card stock to peak in the negative spaces.  I added a moon die from Love Nicole to go with this quote from Quietfire Design. The quote is stamped and embossed in white.

So how are those New Year resolutions coming for you?  Did you have big ones or just small, realistic ones?  No judgement here - I didn't even get around to making any!  

But I did make this card - apparently it advocates dreaming big but any dream will do!

This was a really quick card (apparently my kind of card lately).  I started with dark blue card stock and splattered gold and silver Finetec paint on it.  Instant starry night sky!  The moon? Even easier - take a hole punch and then offset it, punch, and you get a crescent moon.

I added a trio of evergreens by Memory Box and added a large snow bank so that I would have room for this quote.   Hope you like it!
