Eat, Drink & Be Merry Wall Hanging

Hey Quietfire Fans! For today's project I'm sharing with you my Eat, Drink & Be Merry Wall Hanging, which can easily be turned into a card. I combined a variety of A Way With Words Dies and Modern Gilding Powders which were all perfect for creating this wall hanging. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my Eat, Drink & Be Merry Wall Hanging at home.

To start, choose two pieces of coordinating patterned papers. Die cut a 4 1/2" Stitched Indented Rectangle out of one of the patterned papers. Die cut a 4 1/4" Fitted Indented Rectangle out of the other patterned paper. Distress the edges of both pieces. Ink the edges of both pieces using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut the Flourished Frame out of a piece of white cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the frame. Sprinkle Kells Gold Modern Gilding Powders over the entire surface of the frame. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Die cut the Eat, Drink & Be Merry words out of a piece of white cardstock.

From the Hearts & Love Collection Stamp Set, you'll need the two outlined hearts. Apply Emboss It Ink to the hearts and stamp onto a piece of white cardstock. Reapply the ink to the stamp two more times and stamp onto the same piece of white cardstock. Sprinkle Copper Scroll Modern Gilding Powders over the stamped hearts. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Fussy cut five of the hearts out.

Foam square the 4 1/4" rectangle to the 4 1/2" rectangle.

Adhere the Flourished Frame to the 4 1/4" rectangle.

Adhere the Eat, Drink & Be Merry words down the 4 1/4" rectangle. I have some of the words sitting on the flourished frame.

Adhere the fussy cut hearts as desired around the words.

To finish the wall hanging, punch two holes at the top of the rectangles. Tie a piece of twine through either hole creating the hanging part.

Here are a few closeups of the finish wall hanging.

Here is the finished Eat, Drink & Be Merry Wall Hanging.

Hangry is real so "Eat and be happy"

My husband has learned this is a very real thing with me.  He knows that if I say I am hungry on a road trip, it is best to find a place to eat within 15 minutes, not until the next bathroom break.  Lol!  "Eat & be happy" immediately came to mind as I was looking through my latest purchase from Elizabeth Craft Designs which included the pizza box die set.

I added a purple flower using Florals 1 and the layered dies that came in the set.  I continued the theme with the inside of the box and added the rest of the rather cheeky sentiment.  But wouldn't it be great if you just had this little gift box handy for someone getting hangry?  It's sure to break the tension that may or may not be building.  :)

You know it's my favorite thing to figure out different ways to combine Quietfire Design dies - I really like this one!  Haha!

Wedding Weekend Day 2...and Giveaway!

Welcome back to Day 2 of the Wedding Weekend at Quietfire Creations!  Yesterday we looked at Save the Date, RSVP, and You're Invited wedding cards.  Today we are looking at a few wedding reception ideas and Thank you cards.  Just like yesterday, there is a video of today's projects (if you are receiving this in email format, please view the video on YouTube HERE):
First, let's start with wedding favors.  The Gable Box is a great die to have!  The boxes are so sweet on a wedding reception table.  Below is a box with pink background and wee hearts.  The hearts are from the Hearts spray die.  (The Hearts spray die is a useful way to use up all of those tiny pieces of scrap!)
The chalkboard style is quite cool!  I used the heart from Calligraphic Elements 1 die set to die cut white card stock.  Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide was used on the Gable box and the heart as the finishing touch for the chalkboard look.
Of course I had to create another Gable box in the summer floral paper.  The top of the box was secured using seam binding.  Imagine the floral boxes next to all of the place settings at a reception or at the bridal shower.  How cute would that be?
Talking about table settings...
The Eat, Drink & Be Merry die set not only looks awesome (especially in the chalkboard style), but also is a perfect way to let guests know what is for dinner!

Here is the back of the card with the Menu die cut and more of the hearts.
Don't forget the thank your loved ones after the wedding!  The new die set Thank You 2 is so elegant and is gorgeous on a card front!
Love the look of the summer floral style thank you card.  It is like a beautiful breath of fresh air!
While writing this post I thought about a thank you card I created using some of Suzanne's other dies.  It would be so thoughtful to have a wedding photo in the front of the card (as shown below) and the elegant Thank You on the inside.  The original blog post for the below project is here.
The photo slips out of the pocket so that the receiver can frame the picture of the happy couple.

Have you enjoyed the wedding weekend here at Quietfire Creations?  Admittedly, I had too much fun creating the wedding projects!  I couldn't help but think that I wish I had these dies for my wedding.  I could picture running the dies through and assembling the projects with friends or while watching TV.  The results are timelessly lovely.  Hmm...maybe my hubby and I should renew our vows.  ;)

Are there any stamps or dies that caught your eye and are now on your "must have list"?  Well, I have some exciting new for you...you can enter for your chance to win a gift certificate to purchase some of Suzanne's dies and stamps!  Here is what you can do to enter for the giveaway:

Simply comment on this blog post (and Day 1 would be nice, too!) and make sure you are following QuietfireDesign on Instagram!  The deadline for commenting is Monday June 25, 2018 at midnight (Pacific).

Thank you for stopping by!  I do hope you enjoyed the wedding weekend and that it has inspired you!
Have a happy, crafty day.
Big hugs,
Kathy Jo

Sneak Peek with Eat, Drink and Be Merry Dies

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout and a card featuring a die set that will be released next week.  I love being able to give you a Sneak Peek at projects I designed with Eat, Drink and Be Merry from Suzanne Cannon's new collection of dies and stamps! You can see many more projects on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog and web site on June 5 - not too long to wait!

This is such a versatile die set.  You can use the words all together, like I did on the layout below, or use them separately as the occasion warrants.  I have seemingly a gazillion pictures of eating, drinking ad being merry, so these word dies make a perfect page title for many future scrapbook pages and cards.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to watch out for other sneak peeks every day this week!

Supplies Used:  Heartfelt Creations patterned paper, Elizabeth Craft Designs words dies, Chameleon pens, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L adhesive, Stickles glitter glue.
