Every Good and Perfect Gift

 This stamp is one of my favorite from the new release!  It would be great for so many occasions - but especially for a baby.  I suppose I'm going for a little girl here with all the pink flowers.  ;)

The Bible verse was stamped in black Versafine pigment ink and then clear embossed.  I find it much easier and cleaner than embossing with black embossing powder.

I then die cut it out with Spellbinders Label 8, then a gray layer with Decorative Labels 8 popped up above a white layer from Spellbinders Tranquil Moments.

Wild Orchid flowers were hot glued around the verse to frame it.

The sentiment was stamped onto ivory card stock using Distress Ink in Dusty Concord.

It was as if the papers were made for the stamp set...such a sweet pairing!

Remember Heritage Wedding Layout

Hi, Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout featuring my grandparent's wedding photograph.  Both of my grandparents passed away quite some time ago and I think it is important to capture the who, what, when before all the details are forgotten.  I used the May sketch from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine's Sketchy Challenge as inspiration for the page design.  For the circle element on the sketch, I used a paper doily.  You can buy a whole package of these at your local dollar store.

The Quietfire Design word die 'Remember' was perfect for the page title.  This die was just released last month and is manufactured by Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I chose to use the Quietfire Design 'love gives us a fairy tale' stamp to embellish the page.  This stamp is one of 8 in the Valentines/Love set shown below.  I then used the Elizabeth Craft Designs die 'stitched circles' to cut out the stamped sentiment and a coordinating mat.  I added more embellishments from my stash - a few flowers and charms and a chipboard corner flourish that was covered with embossing ink and a few coats of white embossing powder.

Supplies Used:  Core'dinations cardstock, FabScraps patterned paper, chipboard and metal charms, Quietfire Design stamp, Elizabeth Craft Designs dies, Clearsnap ink and embossing powder, Prima flowers, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L adhesive and photo corners, dollar store paper doily.

Isn't this a great stamp set?  So many options for  Valentine or Anniversary cards, as well as wedding layouts.

Hello and Happy Monday!!!  It's Wanda here today to share a friendship card.  

For the background stamp the doily image with Versamark Ink and, using a sponge applicator, add PanPastel rubbing the color over the entire paper.  Use a clean, dry paper towel to buff over the paper removing excess chalk.  Ink the edges with Tea Dye and then distress the edges. Stamp the quote with Jet Black. Wrap with twine, layer to red cardstock and then a cream folded card.  Create flower gluing pieces to the card.

In Summer

Good Morning.  This is Selma today with a card designed using one of the new stamp sets called In Summer.  If you are looking for beautiful stamps, Quietfire Creations is the place to shop!

This is a 6x6 inch card.  The background was created by braying on pink, purple and blue Distress Inks onto a piece of glossy card stock.  A piece of clear plastic wrap was sprayed with water and placed on top of the card stock, leaving wrinkles in the plastic wrap.  Once the ink was dry, the plastic was pulled off then the front was lightly sprayed with water, to give the colors texture.  

The large Dotted Scallop Circle, was die cut using white glossy card stock.  A Beaded Circle Frame was die cut using a dark purple card stock. All dies used to create this card are available from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  The purple Beaded Circle was glued to the White Circle.  

The Quietfire Creations sentiment was stamped in the center of the circles using black VersaFine Ink, then attached to the brayered background, using dimensional tape.

For the flowers, Susan's Garden Notes Jasmine dies were used for the white flowers and green leaves.  Two colors of pansies were die cut using Garden Notes Pansy dies.  The flowers were attached using dimensional glue dots.

5997 In Summer

The new Crackle Backround stamp

Hi everyone and welcome to our blog today on this beautiful Thursday.  We are all sharing lots of ideas using the new release of stamps that you can find on the Queitfire blog here.   There are so many beautiful ones i had a hard time choosing but the new crackle stamp really caught my eye so i grabbed a handful of inks and set out to create something fun with it and 2 new other stamps.

Watercoloring is all the rage again so i thought i would try and use different colors and stamps to show the versatility of this new Crackle backround stamp and create a watercolor effect.  I used Tsukineko inks in green, yellow,  and orange to give it a bright and warm summer effect. And i made sure that I didn't press hard in the yellow area so that it would out more muted and was a better color to stamp the In Summer stamp in black.  I just used simple kraft cardstock and matted it and then adhered it to a white card with a little twine i had in my stash.  I really love this new crackle stamp and i hope you will get a chance to try one too.

For this one i used a whole different palette of colors and then matted it in some of the same bright solids to make it pop.  I wanted it to be a little glittery so i sprayed on some pixie dust in a spritzer bottle.  The stamp is from one of the brand new sets called "I don't tell you often enough" and it too has lots of other words to use that would be perfect on their own or with one of the new dies.

Here is a closeup of the crackle card and the stamp is below.  Imagine how much fun you can have with embossing powders or even use a little paint and stamp it on wood.  Guess that's another project i will have to do and share.. Oh and if you love the stamp---You can find it to order here.

Meet the New Kid on the Digital Block - Quietfire Digital

As most of you know, I attended the Silhouette Summit meeting last month.  In Hawaii.  They sure know how to pick their location for a mini conference!

 

 

Meeting the Silhouette group and other designers and retailers, distributors and suppliers was so exciting.  I loved seeing the new accessories they are releasing soon and I'm itching to get my fingers on them!  And there will be a new Cameo coming in the near future with awesome additional features.  I'm on the list to get one!  Now my palms are itchy, too!

 

We sometimes feature digital designs here on Quietfire Creations, but they get a bit diluted in with the stamps and dies, so I've created a new blog to feature the digital designs.

I invite you to take a look if you have a digital cutting machine - and if you don't, well, it will be a good place to gather ideas and information for when you're ready! We already have a few projects there!  How cool is that?

I couldn't resist this little hula Minion, purchased at a night market.  (I think it's Bob, but it could be Norbert since he's an idiot).  So, here is Bob on my Silhouette towel taken from our balcony just above Waikiki Beach. It's a hard job, but somebody has to do it.  Oh, and by the way, Bob is quilled, completely made from paper!!  Now you know why I couldn't resist him.

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with two cards that were recently published in Creative Scrapbooker Magazine as a part of an article on adult colouring.  The Quietfire Design dies make creating these cards so easy - just colour an image, cut it out and adorn with a sentiment die of your choice. What could be easier?   The dies are designed by Suzanne Cannon and are manufactured by Elizabeth Craft Designs.  There are many words to choose from and I love that Danke and Merci are a couple of the options.

I used a complimentary colour of Elizabeth Crafts Designs soft finish cardstock to create the cards - it's got a neat texture that lends itself well to dry embossing or edge distressing and I love the bright colours.

The images are coloured with Chameleon pens and cut out from Chameleon colouring cards.  If you are among those that loves to colour in colouring books, this is a good way of using those images. Here's the word dies I used:

Yvonne here sharing a card using one of the brandnew Quietfire Design stamp sets.
For my card I used the set "Buy it all seasons" which is a set of 4 stamps, for each season one stamp-sentiment!
Since it's getting summer I used the summer sentiment for my card.
I love the combination of 2 different calligraphic handwritings in one stamp!

Used materials:

• Quietfire Design: Buy it all Seasons (#6255-1) (set of 4 stamps)
• Spellbinders: die-templates
• Archival ink: Jet Black
• 3D foam squares (Scrapbook Adhesives)
• cardstock: gold, white, salmon and black patterend
• self-adhesive Pearls (soft pink)
• bone folder

The card is really simple to make: simply add 3D foam squares behind the die-cut and glue upon the card base. Then carefully put the stamped label diecut onto the card and glue upon also using 3D foam squares....that's all!

Vintage Father's Day card

Hello Crafty Friends!  Kathy Jo here popping in to share a vintage-y Father's Day card created using stamps from Quietfire Design and products from the Quietfire Design store.  The focal point is the elegant Quietfire Design stamp from the Happy Family Day's stamp set:

The sentiment was stamped onto white card stock using Jet Black Archival Ink and die cut using Spellbinders Ornate Artisan Tags and Accents.  Distress ink in Peeled Paint was applied while the die cut was still in the die.  Black card stock was also die cut using Spellbinders Ornate Artisan Tags and Accents.

Next, Peeled Paint Distress Ink applied to one side of the Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Imperial folder.  Kraft card stock was embossed using the folder.

All elements were mounted onto a white card stock tent fold card (5.5" x 4.25").

Simple yet masculine with a vintage feel.  Easy peesy!
