"There are always flowers"

Hello Crafty Friends.

You know when you have a rough day and nothing seems to be going well?  This rough day may spread to two days, a week, whatever.  Your car may break down one day, the next day your washer breaks and spills out an entire load of water on your floor and this pattern may continue to the next day.  (That happened to me...what a week!)   It may wear on you and possibly put you in a not-so-happy state of mind.  It happens to everyone.  Gasp!  Spoiler alert:  Life isn't always sunshine and lollipops.  Next time this happens to a friend or loved one- or even you- head into the craft room, pull out the Floral Banner & Quote set, and make a card.  This thoughtfulness can mean so much to the person having a bad time.  Imagine if you received a card made using this stamp set.  Wouldn't that make you feel a little better?  Perhaps this beautiful stamp can bring sunshine to an otherwise gloomy day.
Floral Banner & Quote, Set of 2 Stamps - Mounted
For my card I made sure that the quote was the focal point of the front.  I chose darker patterned papers and card stock to ensure that the quote popped.
The gorgeous calligraphy quote is so very lovely and inspiring.  It is a wonderful stamp set to have on hand.  And don't forget to make a card or little sign for you, too.  Your future self may thank you.
Thank you for stopping by!
Have a happy, crafty day.

Hello everyone,
Yvonne here sharing a card using the Quietfire Design stamp "Sometimes I Just Look Up".
Such a lovely hand lettered quote expressing that special feeling I think all of us have experienced at least once in life....

Looking at the stamp I think of some very special that I have lost not too long ago and....a smile and many good memories come to my mind...

Dear Suzanne,

Quietfire Frame It! Butterflies blessing upcycled frame

Hello Crafty Friends!

Happy April to you!  This month at Quietfire Creations we will be sharing framed projects using Quietfire Design product.  I am kicking this month of with an upcycled frame using the Quietfire Design stamp from the Butterflies Circles stamp set.

Butterfly Circles, May the Wings, set of 5 stamps - Mounted
The cool wood frame was picked up at a local second hand store- although I have seen similar frames at the dollar store.  It was perfect for the Irish Blessing stamp!  Below are the steps used to create the project.

Instructions:
  1. Pick out cool frame.
  2. Use black Archival Ink and stamp blessing onto ivory patterned paper. (Graphic 45 Nature Sketchbook was used for all papers.)  Die cut using Spellbinders Circle die.  Apply gold marker along edge (optional).
  3. Die cut red pattern paper using Spellbinders Stately Circles.
  4. Die cut gold card stock or gold construction paper using Spellbinders Tiara Rondelle.
  5. Cut patterned papers to fit into frame.
  6. Mount all above to frame opening.
  7. Fussy cut butterflies and mount as desired.
In the photo above I added a wee butterfly at the end of one of Suzanne's flourishes to make it appear like it is the butterfly's path.

What a fun little project and a great piece of framed art to enjoy or give to someone.  Quietfire Design product is beautiful in upcycled or new frames.

Thank you for stopping by!  I do hope you enjoyed the project and it inspires you to frame your favorite Quietfire Design product!

Have a happy, crafty day.

"You are sunlight to my heart"

Hello Crafty Friends!

Kathy Jo here sharing a card using a classic Quietfire Design stamp, You are Sunlight:
You are Sunlight - Mounted
Isn't it the sweetest sentiment?  I remember the first time I used the stamp- it was on a card I made for a wonderful friend of mine.  That card was shared here on Quietfire Design on December 31, 2014!
Wow- time has flown!   Even though it was released a few years ago- like all Quietfire Design stamps- it is a timeless stamp to be used again and again.  This time I paired it up with the lovely heart die from the Calligraphic Elements 2 set:
Calligraphic Elements 2 - Metal Cutting Dies
I think the stamp and die were made for each other as they look so happy together.  :)
The flower ribbon is a beauty, too. The ribbon tucked under the heart is from the Prima ribbon set, Nature Garden Trimmings:
Nature Garden Trimmings
Oh!  And I had to add some bling that shimmers in the light.  The bling looks quite content on the heart:
The shaped card has several soft layers that allow the beautiful stamp and heart to be the focus of the card front.
I do hope you enjoyed the card...I know I enjoyed making it!  It felt great to pull out one of the Quietfire classics and create another project.

What are your favorite older Quietfire Design stamp sets?  Do you have a favorite one that you use often?  Or that makes your heart smile whenever you use it?

Thank you for stopping by!  Have a happy, crafty day!

"Love" pretty in pink card

Hello Crafty Friends!

Kathy Jo here to share a pretty in pink "Love" card using Quietfire Designs' beautiful "Love" die,
Love - Metal Cutting Die
Excluding the "Love" die cut, all of the papers used were ivory card stock.  A wonderful medium, Cosmic Shimmer Metallic Gilding Polish was used to add the metallic pink luster to the ivory card stock.
Card Instructions:
  1. Create a tent fold card from ivory card stock.
  2. Cut ivory card stock smaller than front of card base.  Apply gilding polish.
  3. After gilding polish is dry (it dries in a zip!), apply gold marker along edges.  Mount to card base.
  4. Die cut ivory card stock.  Mount to base.
  5. Emboss ivory card stock.  Lightly apply gilding polish.  Note: the larger the gaps in between the raised areas, the more likely you will get gilding polish in non-embossed areas.
  6. Die cut with oval die and mount to card.
  7. Die cut oval frame.  Apply gilding polish.  Add gold marker along edges.
  8. Die cut "Love" using ivory card stock and gold card stock.  Slightly offset both die cuts and mount to card using liquid adhesive.
  9. Create triple ivory bow.  Mount using liquid adhesive.
  10. Create three roses of different size. (Or take roses from your crafty stash.)  Apply gilding polish as desired.  (I applied polish evenly over the entire large rose and just on the edges of the smaller roses.)

  11. Add crystal gems and Sitckles, if desired.

Thank you for stopping by!  I do hope you enjoyed the pretty in pink "Love" card.
Have a happy, crafty day!
Big Hugs,
Kathy Jo

"Nothing can be truer than fairy wisdom"

Hello Crafty Friends!

It may be January but my thoughts have turned to spring.  I love the beauty of spring gardens as they are full of bright bulbs and cheep-cheep-cheeping birds.  Spring garden life is captivating.  Seeing the earth awakening from the winter sleep and new plants bursting from the soil carpet is amazing.  Life is truly magical.

Garden magic inspired today's card.  I wanted to make something bright, beautiful and magical.  Fairies are definitely all three and Suzanne's fairy stamp set, Nothing can be truer than fairy wisdom, was the focal point of the card front.

Nothing Can Be Truer, Set of 2 - Mounted
Card instructions:
  1. Create a top fold card base using white card stock.
  2. Cut and mat purple glitter paper.
  3. Cut patterned paper smaller than mat in step 2.  Outline using gold marker (optional).  Mount to card front.
  4. Die cut white card stock and mount.
  5. Cut and mat purple glitter paper to white die cut using double faced foam tape.
  6. Cut patterned paper smaller than mat in step 5.  Outline using gold marker (optional) and mount to card front.
  7. Use ornate die to cut purple card stock.  Mount.
  8. Stamp quote onto white card stock using purple ink.  Die cut and outline using gold marker (optional).  Mount to card front using double faced foam tape.
  9. Create bow and mount using liquid adhesive.  Adhere tag.  Apply Stickles at will.
  10. Apply sparkly gems.
  11. Decorate inside of card as desired.  (Below are the inside views of my card.  It is nice to create a pocket using patterned paper- just in case you would like to use the card as a gift card holder.  The white card stock is also not stamped yet- it is left open for a Quietfire sentiment stamp.)
The quote is so sweet!
Isn't the stamp lovely?  I can't help but smile when I read it.

Thanks for stopping by!  I do hope you enjoyed the happy card.

Fancy Frame Fairy Mixed Media card

Hello Crafty Friends!  Kathy Jo here sharing fancy fold frame style card using Quietfire Design's newly released stamp set, A Rustle in the Wind:
A Rustle in the Wind, Set of 4 - Mounted
The card creation process was full of inky fun!  I sprayed several Dylusions Ink Sprays on mixed media paper.  After drying I picked out a section of the paper that reminded me of a mystical night sky.  After cutting it to size, the quote was stamped onto the paper using Jet Black Archival Ink.  Next, Nuvo Crystal Drops were added to give the appearance of stars or other heavenly bodies.
The fairy was stamped onto the mixed media paper and fussy cut.  A triple bow using Sorbet Sari ribbon was created and the fairy was adhered.  Nuvo Crystal Drops were added to the wings.
The image and bow were mounted onto the die cut card base.  More Nuvo Crystal Drops were used on the frame.
Oh- what a fabulous stamp set!  The stamp set pairs perfectly with the other newly released stamp set, Nothing Can Be Truer:
Nothing Can Be Truer, Set of 2 - Mounted

So happy!  Love the gliding fairy...beautiful!

Thanks for stopping by!  I do hope you enjoyed the card.  :)
Have a happy, crafty day!
Big Hugs,
Kathy Jo
