Give me the Splendid Silent Sun Card

Hey Quietfire Fans! For today's project I'm excited to share with you my Give me the Splendid Silent Sun Card. I combined a variety of dies, stamps and Modern Gilding Powder, which were all perfect for creating this autumn card. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my Give me the Splendid Silent Sun Card at home.

To start, die cut a 4 1/4" Stitched Oval out of kraft cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the Give me the Splendid Silent Sun quote and stamp in the middle of the stitched oval. Sprinkle Copper Scroll Modern Gilding Powder over the entire surface of the stamp image. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Distress the edges of the oval. Ink the edges of the oval using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Flourished Oval Frame, die cut the frame out of white cardstock.

Die cut a 4 3/4" Stitched Rounded Rectangle out of a piece of white cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to teh Grid Background stamp and stamp onto the left side of the rectangle. Reapply Emboss It Ink to the grid background stamp again and stamp on the remaining area of the rectangle. Sprinkle Kells Gold Modern Gilding Powder over the entire surface of the rectangle. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Walnut Stain, Vintage Photo and Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide Ink over the entire surface of the rectangle. Spritz the rectangle with water. Allow the rectangle to dry. Once the rectangle has dried, distress the edges of the rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

For the background of my leaves, I used left over prints from when I did some gel printing. But you could also use fall themed patterned paper or cardstock. Choose two of the leaves from the Leaves stamp set and apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the first leaf stamp. Stamp five times on the paper. Reapply ink to the stamp as needed. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the second leaf stamp and stamp four times on the paper. Reapply ink to the stamp as needed. Fussy cut all the leaves out. Ink the edges of all the leaves using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut a 4" Stitched Rounded Rectangle out of a piece of kraft cardstock. Die cut a 3 3/4" Fitted Rounded Rectangle out of white cardstock. Distress the edges of both rectangles. Ink the edges of both rectangles using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Adhere the flourished frame to the 4" stitched rounded rectangle.

Adhere the 3 1/2" stitched rounded rectangle to the 3 3/4" fitted rounded rectangle. Foam square the 3 3/4" fitted rounded rectangle to the middle of the 4" stitched rectangle.

Foam square the stitched oval to the middle of the 3 1/2" stitched rounded rectangle.

Adhere the nine leaves as desired around the stitched oval.

To finish the card, cut a cardbase out of white cardstock that measures 5 1/4" x 8", score at 4". Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Here are a few closeup shots of the finished card.
