You were born to greatness

Hi and welcome to our blog today. It's Teresa here and I have a really special card i did for my niece to send her because she is a little down about going back to school to get her degree.  It's a hard thing and a huge leap of faith to quit your job and go back but she was born to greatness so this will be perfect to give her inspiration to reach her goals.

To make my card I used one of our new clear stamp sets and some special vintage papers that i just got.  The stamp set is called the "Soar Collection" and there are lots of beautiful stamps in the set.  I think you will really love to create with them. 

You all know that i love making vintage inspired things so using all these pretty muted colors with the butterflies fussy cut on it was really fun.  Sometimes things just work and the stamp says it all.

I added some extra flicks of Tim Holtz ink on it and also a touch of glitter spray.  Soooo fun!

Celebrate and making a subtle background with stamps

Hello!  Diana here with a card that can be used for any celebratory occasion but feels like spring to me!  It's in the 70s today and it's FEBRUARY!  I like it.

But on to the card itself:

It's hard to see in some of the photos because the background is so subtle but that was what I wanted so that the beautiful Celebrate die cut would really pop.  I used the "Celebrate" clear stamp from the Happy Birthday collection to make my background.  I stamped it repeatedly on a white card stock and clear embossed.  Though the picture looks almost ivory there, it was the best picture that captured the clear embossing even though everything was done with Neenah white card stock.

The Celebrate and butterfly die cut were sponged with Distress oxide inks and then adhered to the front of the card.  I added a bit of adhesive rhinestone to my butterfly and voila, all done!

For a little big of extra sparkle, I went over all the die cuts with a clear glitter Wink of Stella pen.  It's so pretty and delicate in real life!

Love you... Quietfire Design clearstamps...

Yvonne here sharing a card using one the latest Quietfire Design/ECD clearstamp sets.
The set I used for today's card is called "Love & Hearts" and contains 11 stamps.

The romantic sentiment combined with soft colors with matching die-cuts, make all parts come together...a very romantic, sweet card...
The blue patterned cardstock is altered using a paper distresser and some brown ink...a nice contrast with the clean die-cuts :-)

Used materials:

• ECD/Quietfire Design/ Suzanne Canon: Love & Hearts Collection (set of 10 clearstamps)
• Gold inkpad, brown inkpad, ink blending tool, acrylic stampblock
• cardstock: white, pink, patterned
• Die-cuts, paper distresser
• Self-adhesive pearls and hearts, mulberry roses, satin ribbon
• 3D foam squares

New Dies, New Stamps & A Sweet Project!

It's Suzanne here and I'm over-the-moon thrilled to share this exciting new release of Quietfire Design designs from Elizabeth Craft Designs! (Got that? Say it five times!)

There are 15 new dies/sets that I hope you're going to love. Attendees at the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival in Edmonton last weekend were lucky enough to be able to purchase these dies!  Five of them sold out quickly - can you guess which ones?  (no, there is no prize for guessing, sorry!!) 

Wanda is going to share a project in a minute, but without further ado here are the new dies!  You can find all of these products on the Quietfire website today in the What's New Department.

In addition to all this bumper crop of dies, I'm simply delighted to share something completely new.  We now have *clear* Quietfire Design stamps!  Elizabeth Craft Designs has produced six big beautiful sets that I know you're going to love.  They are very cool!

Isn't this a super fantastic release.  Wow!!  So much good stuff!!!  I'm using just a tiny bit of that "good stuff" on this card.

What I've used from the new release -

     New Stamp Set, #CS074 - Soar Collection  Quietfire Site | ECD Site

     New Cutting Die, #1444 - Soar      Quietfire Site | ECD Site

Other Supplies -

     Watercolor Paper

     Black Cardstock

     White Cardstock

     Distress Ink - Tumbled Glass, Picked Raspberry

     Distress Oxide Ink - Picked Raspberry

     VersaFine Ink - Onyx Black

     Mini Ink Blending Tools

     Water Brush

On watercolor panel stamp "let your dreams" and butterflies with black ink.  Run a line of artists tape across the panel just at the bottom edge of stamped words. Ink top of panel (area above tape) with Tumbled Glass using the blending tool. Keep the color darker around the edges fading near the butterflies.  Color butterflies using Oxide ink and a water brush.  Die cut soar from white cardstock. Ink completely with Oxide, spray lightly with water, dry, add shading with Distress Picked Raspberry, attach to stamped panel.  Splatter panel with oxide ink using the water brush.  Attach panel to black cardstock and then folded white card.
