Flourished Oval - Mom You Are So Loved

Yogi here today and I made a top fold card... a rare occurrence for me. I was gifted with a sampler pack of cardstock and papers in various colors, such beautiful pearlescent and metallic papers. I'm using 3 from the sampler pack..

I'm using an A Way With Words dies  "Flourished Oval Frame" 2pce set and "Butterfly Flourish" 3pce set from Elizabeth Craft Designs, also available on Quietfire Design HERE and HERE

And I'm using a design element and sentiment stamps from Quietfire Design ("Keep Calm and Call MOM" 3pce set): ("You Are" 5pce set) 

Scored and top folded my white cardstock. I cut a piece of Stardream "Azalea", same size as card front and adhered this deep pink to front.

Cut a piece of Stardream Rose Qurtz (light pink) a touch smaller than card to have a border around the edges of the deep pink. Die cut the rose design (Sizzix Tim's "Mixed Media #5) and adhered to front.

Stamped the "Mom/rose design onto white cardstock using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Painted the flower/leaves with watercolors. Fussy cut around some of the flourishes and positioned my oval flourish die, placing the cut flourishes above the die so they wouldn't be cut off.

Cut a flourished oval from the light pink cardstock. Cut the larger oval (Elizabeth Craft Designs "Stitched Ovals") from the deep pink. Die cut the white layer using "Curious Metallics Iced Silver" and the Cuttlebug Anna Griffin "Flourish Medallion". Adhered these layers together,

Stamped the text using the black and clear embossed. Adhered the flourished oval assembly

I had some Brusho/Colour Burst decorated cardstock in pinks and die cut the butterfly. Adhered to front and added some white half pearls to the body.

"Home is where your Mom is" Mother's Day card

Hello Crafty Friends!  Kathy Jo here sharing a card I made for my Mother-in-Law for Mother's Day.  The card's focal point is the sweet Quietfire Design sentiment, Home is where your Mom is, from the Keep Calm & Call Mom set:

There are several layers to the card.  Here are the layers starting with the card base and working up to the sentiment: ivory tent fold base, Graphic 45's Gilded Lily pink patterned paper edged with gold, ivory card stock die cut (Spellbinders Astoria Decorative Accent), brown patterned Gilded Lily die cut (Spellbinders 5x7 Elegant Labels), Gilded Lily die cut (Spellbinders Art Deco Astoria), ivory card stock die cut (Spellbinders Swirl Bliss band) and mounted on Gilded Lily and finally the lovely stamped sentiment die cut (Spellbinder Victorian Garden Fancy Diamond).

The card does have a lot of layers but the lovely sentiment stands out.  (And isn't the heart below the "o" in Mom just the cutest?)

The inside of the card has more Gilded Lily and die cut ivory card stock (Spellbinders Decorative Elements Fancy Diamond).

Mom card using Mom rose stamp from Keep Calm & Call Mom set

Hello Crafty Peeps!  Kathy Jo here sharing a card for Mother's Day. The card used the Mom rose stamp from Quietfire's Keep Calm & Call Mom stamp set:

The stamped Mom is so beautiful that I wanted it framed on the card and heat embossed in gold.  The stamp looks gorgeous in gold!  

Here are the steps for the card:  

1. Form a tent fold card from ivory card stock
2. On watercolor paper stamp Mom in Versamark and heat emboss using gold embossing powder.
3. Apply Distress Marker in Peeled Paint along the inside edge of a leaf and use a water brush to give a watercolor appearance to the leaf.  Repeat with all leaves.  Apply Distress Marker in Worn Lipstick to each rose petal and repeat.  After drying apply Glossy Accent to the rose and Stickles (Lime Green) to the leaves.

4. Dry emboss watercolor paper with embossing folder.  Die cut into a frame using Spellbinders Matting Basics dies.  Apply Peeled Paint to raised edges with water brush. 

5. Cut white card stock to size and double heat emboss (along the outside edges) using Versamark and gold embossing powder.  Mount onto card base.

6. Mount Mom stamped paper onto gold edged paper.

7. Use foam dots or squares to mount frame to card.

8. High five yourself for a job well done.

Mom Floral Ornament shaped card

Hello All!  Kathy Jo here to share a shaped card using the beautiful Mom Floral Ornament stamp from the new stamp set Keep Calm & Call Mom.

The Mom Floral Ornament stamp was heat embossed on ivory paper.  The rose was colored using Tim Holtz Distress Stains in Spun Sugar, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick and Barn Door.  The petals were colored using Tim Holtz Stain in Crushed Olive and Peeled Paint.  Distress inks in Antique Linen, Tea Dye, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain were applied to the paper as shown.  The image was die cut using Spellbinders Matting Basics and then the cutout had gold glimmer mist applied.  Clear Crackle Paint was applied to the rose and larger petals.

The ivory card base was die cut from the second largest die in the Spellbinders 5x7 Elegant Labels set.  Before removing the die cut from the die, Spun Sugar was applied to the embossed areas.  Paper die cut from Matting Basics was stained using Peeled Paint.  Seam binding ribbon was dyed using the same Distress Stains used on the rose.  Bling was applied around the Mom die cut and also to the crinkled double bow. 

Isn't the stamp beautiful?  I like the stamp not only because it is beautiful and fun to color, but also because it is a great "anytime" stamp.  I may save this card to send to my mom just to let her know I am thinking of her.  I think the card will brighten her day!  The other two stamps in the set are just as sweet.  Here are the stamps included in the set:
