For my project today, I've created this cute Something Special is Happening! Baby Shower Invite, which features A Way With Words Dies and Stamps as well as Modern Gilding Powder.

To start, you'll need three pieces of baby themed patterned paper. From the first patterned paper, die cut a 4" Stitched Rectangle out of the paper. From the second patterned paper, die cut a 3 1/2" Stitched Rectangle. From the third patterned paper, die cut a 3" Stitched Rectangle out of the paper. Ink the edges of all three rectangles using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Flourished Frame Die, die cut the frame out of white cardstock.

From the Flourished Oval Frame Die, die cut the frame out of white cardstock.

Die cut a 5/8" Fitted Fishtail out of white cardstock. From the Please Join Us Stamp, you'll need the Something Special is happening! Apply Emboss It Ink to the stamp and stamp onto the fitted fishtail. Sprinkle Copper Scroll Modern Gilding Powder over the stamp saying. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Cut the fishtail down to 3 7/8". Ink the edges of the fishtail using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Diagonal Stitched Fishtails die, die cut the 3/4" fishtail out of a fourth piece of coordinating patterned paper. Cut the fishtail down to 4 1/8". Ink the edges of the fishtail using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Little Ones die, die cut the base of the onesie out of white cardstock. Cut the top portion of the onesie out of the same patterned paper you just die cut the fishtail out of.

Adhere the flourished frame to the 4" stitched rectangle. Foam square the 3 1/2" stitched rectangle to the middle of the 4" stitched rectangle.

Adhere the 3" stitched rectangle to the 3 1/2" stitched rectangle. Adhere the flourished oval frame to the middle of the 3" stitched rectangle.

Adhere the top of the onesie to the bottom onesie piece. Foam square the onesie to the middle of the flourished oval frame. Adhere the fitted fishtail to the diagonal stitched fishtail. Adhere the diagonal stitched fishtail 5/8" from the bottom and 1/4" from the left of the 4" stitched rectangle. 

To finish the card, cut a cardbase out of white cardstock that measures 5 1/4" x 8", score at 4". Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Once Upon A Time - Little Ones - You Can Never Have Enough Fabric - Welcome Little Ones - Ribbon Quilt

Yogi here today and I got a little carried away...BIG GRIN.  I'm not really into babies and things, but we were asked to do baby thing projects... And I came across the scissors in a Tonic Tim Holtz pamphlet and cut it out. And then I was in a mood to do a ribbon weave and the rest evolved and evolved and evolved...

I'm using a die "Once Upon A Time"  and "LittleOnes" 7pce set from Elizabeth Craft Designs, also available on Quietfire Design HERE and HERE

I'm using a rubber stamp quote which I love from Quietfire Design ("You Can Never Have Enough Fabric")

I'm also using a clear stamp design element designed by Suzanne Cannon and available on Quietfire Design "Welcome Little One" 5pce set and also available on Elizabeth Craft Designs HERE 

 

Scored and folded my pink cardstock  to create the easel structure. Cut a piece same size as card (7"w x 5"h) and adhered to card front.

Created the ribbon quilt: adhere strips of Sari variegated ribbon to the top edge of a piece of cardstock. Started weaving horizontal pieces of ribbon starting with a cream toned polka dotted ribbon. I alternated with a bright pink silk ribbon, and a bright green silk/gauze ribbon. Adhered some double sided tape to the outer edges to hold the ribbon in place. Trimmed down. Die cut a frame using Elizabeth Craft Designs "Stitched Rectangles" and adhered over weaving. Adhered to card front off set.

Die cut the "Once Upon A Time from a white gold pearlescent cardstock (Paper-Garden.ca). Adhered to card front.

Cut out the scissors from the Tonic Tim Holtz brochure. Inked with Versamark and clear embossed twice. Adhered to card front.

Stamped the fabric quote onto cream cardstock inked with Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Trimmed down adding the picot edge and adhere to card front.

On the floor: Stamped the "Welcome Little One" onto cream cardstock using the black and clear embossed. Cut out with a Spellbinder's oval die set. Die cut a couple small circles to create handles and adhered to either edge of quote piece. Slipped the pink ribbon through the loops and adhered all to card floor.

Die cut the feet and Onsey from white Shrink Plastic. Colored with alcohol ink and shrunk. Adhered to card using Glossy Accents.

Die cut the Thread spool (Memory Box "Thread Spools") and the thimble and pin cushion (Spellbinder's "Sewing Elements"). Colored with mini Distress pads and colored pencils then adhered to a piece of cream cardstock then onto the floor to act as my stopper.

Baby Love

Hello!!!  We have lots of baby love going on in our family as two grandbabies were born in the last 8 days.  One each to both of our sons - one was a girl and one was a boy.  The first for both of our sons.  Exciting times!!!!

My main panel is watercolor paper and the color is embossing powder.  Using an embossing ink dauber  I made streaks of ink leaving space between the streaks.  I added once color of embossing powder to the ink and heated to melt.  After allowing a minute to cool I repeated with the dauber, added my second color of embossing powder and heated.  This was repeated for the third color.  I allowed the bands of color to overlap slightly and, as you can tell, I only worked in the center area (from top to bottom) of the card.  Once I was done with the embossing and it was cool I added white paint through a stencil for the hearts.  Gold paint was added around the edges.  Thinned gold paint was splattered over the panel.

All the die cut elements were cut from both purple and white card.  The words were layered together offsetting the pieces.  The feet were inked around the edge with purple ink.  I added the white heart dropout to the purple feet using tape behind the feet to keep the heart in place.  Using punches from my stash I added smaller white hearts on top putting foam between them for dimension.  All die cut pieces were attached as shown.  I punched two small purple hearts and added them as shown.  The panel was attached to a folded white card.

When I made the card, looking at it in person, everything looked good.  It has since been used for a baby shower but looking at these pictures, 'love' looks crooked to me and it's driving me crazy, LOL.  But overall I hope you like the card.  It was fun to make!!!

Hello Crafty Friends!

Are you loving Suzanne's new stamp and die release?  It has been fun in my crafty room using all of the new product.  The new release has product for your birthday, wedding, and baby projects (to name a few!). The baby collection is darling and the Little Ones dies are too stinking cute.  The wee feet are the focal point of today's baby card.

Also used is the lovely Little One stamp from the Welcome Little Ones stamp set.

Gold card stock and blue card stock were both cut with the Little Ones feet die (I wanted to accentuate the heart created by the feet).

Little One was stamped using coordinating blue ink.  A tag was created and gold applied to the edge.

Isn't it a sweet card?  I told you the Little Ones die set was too stinking cute!  :)
