For my project today, I've created this cute Something Special is Happening! Baby Shower Invite, which features A Way With Words Dies and Stamps as well as Modern Gilding Powder.

To start, you'll need three pieces of baby themed patterned paper. From the first patterned paper, die cut a 4" Stitched Rectangle out of the paper. From the second patterned paper, die cut a 3 1/2" Stitched Rectangle. From the third patterned paper, die cut a 3" Stitched Rectangle out of the paper. Ink the edges of all three rectangles using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Flourished Frame Die, die cut the frame out of white cardstock.

From the Flourished Oval Frame Die, die cut the frame out of white cardstock.

Die cut a 5/8" Fitted Fishtail out of white cardstock. From the Please Join Us Stamp, you'll need the Something Special is happening! Apply Emboss It Ink to the stamp and stamp onto the fitted fishtail. Sprinkle Copper Scroll Modern Gilding Powder over the stamp saying. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Cut the fishtail down to 3 7/8". Ink the edges of the fishtail using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Diagonal Stitched Fishtails die, die cut the 3/4" fishtail out of a fourth piece of coordinating patterned paper. Cut the fishtail down to 4 1/8". Ink the edges of the fishtail using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the Little Ones die, die cut the base of the onesie out of white cardstock. Cut the top portion of the onesie out of the same patterned paper you just die cut the fishtail out of.

Adhere the flourished frame to the 4" stitched rectangle. Foam square the 3 1/2" stitched rectangle to the middle of the 4" stitched rectangle.

Adhere the 3" stitched rectangle to the 3 1/2" stitched rectangle. Adhere the flourished oval frame to the middle of the 3" stitched rectangle.

Adhere the top of the onesie to the bottom onesie piece. Foam square the onesie to the middle of the flourished oval frame. Adhere the fitted fishtail to the diagonal stitched fishtail. Adhere the diagonal stitched fishtail 5/8" from the bottom and 1/4" from the left of the 4" stitched rectangle. 

To finish the card, cut a cardbase out of white cardstock that measures 5 1/4" x 8", score at 4". Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Life Happens, Coffee Helps....

Hello everyone,
The first thing I do when I get up is making myself a fresh cup of coffee....how I love the smell of freshly brewed coffee!
And then enjoying it cuddled up on the couch, often with our pup Noozy on my lap and seeing the garden come to life with the birds whistling....yep I love early mornings!

The lastest stamp release by Quietfire Design is tea and coffee themed...yay! what a pleasure to be presenting one of the sets to you called "But First, Coffee" (a set of 8 stamps!).

I colored the image with pencils.
Some simple layering and voila!

New Elizabeth Craft Designs, A Way With Word Dies! Cherish-Cozy-Let it Snow-Warm Thoughts and Peace

Hi Y'all, Robyn here getting carried away with the new Away With Word Dies!

The new dies are just a tad smaller than the last release, perfect for my love of ATCs!

The new ElizabethCraft Designs dies are available pre order at Quietfire Design.

Add some embossing folders, ECD glitter, dimensional adhesive, and you have a little bit of love to give away!

Hi there, Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout featuring one of the new Quietfire Designs Christmas stamps and the gorgeous Believe die.  The latter makes a perfect title for layouts about Santa.  These pictures are from over a decade ago when my boys were little and visiting Santa was an annual tradition.  Sadly, it's been a few years since they believed in Santa Claus but scrapbooking these older photos lets me go back in time and remember some of the magic.

The Quietfire stamp about childhood memories was the perfect accent for the project.  I stamped the quote with Colorbox chalk ink in dark moss, cut it out with a Sizzix Framelit die and mounted it with some dimensional foam adhesive to make it pop a little bit.

I embellished the layout with extra poinsettias cut from another piece of patterned paper and embellished the centers with coloured pearl beads that came from the dollar store.  I tucked some flourishes and berry branches cut using dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs under the flowers and dressed them up a bit with Liquid Pearls.

A Way With Words- Christmas Ornaments

Welcome to our blog again today for another fun share using the new "Quietfire Designs Dies" by "Elizabeth Craft Designs".  I went for a look to see what was new out for the holidays at my local craft store and found this cute tin ornament to decorate and also this lazer cut one so i thought i would see what i could come up with using the dies.

The tin ornament was really fun and they come in different shapes so you could do lots of them to decorate.  I chose this one because i thought my "Season's Greetings die" would look really nice across the center and i could put lots of things in the backround to decorate.  The papers are from WeR and i picked it because it went great with the color of the metal.  I really wanted to make the sentiment pop so i cut out 2 of the same in white and glued them together.  This way it's really thick and it really shows up well.  You could also cut thin cereal box cardboard and put that in the back to add more depth.  It measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches just to let you know the size.

 And to make it pretty and glistening like snowflakes i added lots of rhinestones and a pretty bow at the top of it.  And just a bit of some decorative edging that i had in my stash... gotta have texture :)

And this ornament is a bit smaller and i inked the top and then put a clear coat of varnish over it to seal it.  Then i cut a silver mat for the green center and glued that on.  The "Merry Christmas die" I cut out of silver mirror cardstock and glued that on the top.  And I finished it with a bow and rhinestones in a few places to make it glisten when it's on the tree.  It was super easy and would be great to give as a hostess gift for your holiday party or for friends and family.

Quietfire Designs for Clothing.....You BET!!!!

I am sure by now you have figured out that I am in LOVE with the Silhouette Cameo and all of the cool things that can be made with it. Well, today won't be any different, except this time I didn't make a paper crafting product or home decor item.  Today I made a garment, a useful kitchen garment, an apron.

I am in luck in my love of the Silhouette Cameo, because Suzanne Cannon has FABULOUS designs sold in the Silhouette Online Store!!

I chose two today, Flourished Calligraphic Ornament and Corners and Kiss the Cook Calligraphy.

Today I am going to share two ways you can use Heat Press Vinyl to create fun clothing, hats and anything you can iron on.

I started with another clearance bin item, lime green apron.

Using the Silhouette Cameo software I was able to import the image from the Silhouette Online store, "flip" the image horizontally and cut.  Easy peasy, puddin' -n- pie!!!

Now you can see why you have to flip the image before you cut.  Heat Transfer Vinyl has a clear,  glossy,  medium tack adhesive transfer sheet that is a barrier for the heat transfer vinyl and the actual heat press.  

When you apply the heat transfer material to the Silhouette Cameo cutting mat, the clear, glossy side is the side that is stuck to the cutting mat.  The dull or muted side is where the image will cut.  

After the image is cut and you weed off the extra vinyl, flip the image onto you garment and your ready for heat.

I am going to show two ways that heat transfer vinyl can be used.  

With my image in place, I put my garment on my 15" heat press.  My  temperature setting is 360 degrees.  

A teflon sheet between my garment and the actual heat part of the press.  Close the lid for 15 second.  My press has a timer, so it tells me when my shirt is complete!!  Yeah for that.  Not one burnt shirt yet.  haha.

My timer has gone off and the image is applied to the apron.  Yeah!!

Here is the second method.  Just to be upfront, this way will take 20 to 30 minutes.

Place your garment and cut image on an ironing board, place a press cloth or any light weight cloth over the transfer sheet of the image and the garment.  You want to do this, because you will be applying as much pressure as you can with your household iron over the image.  Prolonged heat to the transfer sheet will cause warping and possibly a bit of melting plastic to your iron and garment (BIG NO NO!!).

Continue to apply pressure to your iron over the image.  You will need to lift the press cloth and transfer sheet from time to time to see how progress is coming.  If your project is taking 20 to 30 minutes.  That is normal.

I hope that this quick tutorial has inspired you to look at Suzanne Cannon's Designs in a whole new way and another way to use your Silhouette Cameo.

Oh how I love Valetines Day!!  I love all the "lovin" going on.  I love pink, hearts and just "lovin" on people!!!

Making Valentines Day cards kind of comes pretty easy to me.  Quietfire Designs new release, Calligraphic Love Bits made the card I had in mind perfect!!  The smaller sentiments fit exactly where I wanted on this smaller card or what could be a gift tag.

The card from was created using Spellbinders Nested Heart die.  I cut the die with a die cutting machine and then dry embossed the shape using a rubber mat and a die cutting machine.

While the patterned paper was still in the die, I rubbed Ranger Distress Ink Walnut Stain over the die (that was acting like a stencil) onto the paper.    I then stamped the "love you forever" sentiment with brown pigment ink and heat embossed detail clear embossing powder.

Onto the another piece of patterned paper,  I traced around the nesting die again and cut it out by hand to it was just a bit bigger than the die cut.  Using adhesive dimensional I adhered the card front to the card back.

With a two inch piece of kraft card stock, I scored a 1/2 inch edge to adhere to the back of my card panel to create a sentiment panel.  I stamped the smaller fun little sentiments and beautiful heart to the inside.
