Sometimes, said Pooh Card

Hello blog friends, Terre here with a fabulous card, I really like this one! I just love this stamp and you can find it right here at Quietfire Designs, "Sometimes, said Pooh" when ever I read this sentiment it just makes me smile!

I used Spellbinders Framed Labels One M-Bossabilities,  S4-328 Foliage and S4-161 Labels One die template to create my card front.

I airbrushed a hint of mauve, purple and gray to the card front then added some DecoArts Metallic Lustre in Bronze, Black and Champagne and blended it over the embossed areas, once the blended was complete I took my Tsukineko Memento Black ink pad and lightly ran it over the embossed areas to highlight it in black.

I stamped my sentiment then die cut it out using the Labels One die template and popped it up using some foam squares. I then adhered it to the front of my card using Beacon Adhesives Zip Dry. I hope you have enjoyed my blog post tonight, sorry it was so late! Crafty Smiles Terre

Happy Fathers Day!

Robyn here ,with a shaped card base, pop up card.

The card base is cut with the largest of the Spellbinder Grand Labels One.

To cut the  shaped card, fold your base and position the fold just inside of the cut line of the dye.

All of the Lables One dies work together, as you can see here as I built up the layers.

I have fond memories of my Dad in the ocean, so the sea themed patterned paper became the next layer, one size smaller of the same die.

I wrapped the left side around to the back of the card just for fun. He was not a glittery guy, so I'm doing my best to keep it simple and ,well, not glittery!

The quote, from the Happy Family Days collection is stamped with VersaFine sepia and thermal embossed clear.

The frame, from the same collection is stamped with Delicata Golden Glitz- no embossing needed- on Scalloped Labels One, layered on Decorative Labels One, and popped up with a bit of fun foam.

The inside of the card was created with 7 layers of text weight paper cut with the Spellbinders Dalhia and cleverly glued together with glue dots and some sprigs of Spellbinders Foliage.

Robyn here, excited to be sharing several takes on one of Quietfire Designs newest hand lettered quotes, and the evolution of a card.

Suzanne recently shared a comment that one reason folks like her stamps, is,  the same stamp can be used in so many different ways, form simple to complex designs.


"How long did it take you to make that?" is the most asked comment I get on the blog and live demoing.
My flip answer is,
"On a good day just the right amount of time and on a bad day a bit longer."

This first ATC took less than five minutes          

( not counting thinking up the idea).

Simply stamped with VersaFine Sepia and colorized with Distress Old Paper.

Adding just one new element- a hand drawn and inked border, this second ATC took under 10 minutes.

Jumping ahead just a bit, on the third ATC I added a backing panel from stash, a second layer embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots (if I could have just one embossing folder this would be it), and stamped and thermal embossed clear on some tracing vellum. Maybe 15 minutes.

Which brings us to the lead card.
The card layer front is embossed with the stripes, and the back panel for the Quote is Spellbinders Curved matting Basics  B
- be sure to label these first thing-
 and Scalloped Labels One and Labels One.
I laced some ribbon through one of the Spellbinders Celtic Accents to finish it off.

So, 1 stamp, 3 ink pads, 2 embossing folders, some misc stash ...add your imagination and the possibilities are endless!
Any of the new stamps can be used in this way- simple to elegantly complex.

Happy Family Day Card

Happy Friday Every! Thank you for stopping by my very first blog post here at the Quietfire Creations Blog. A special thanks to Suzanne the mind behind these amazing stamp. This birthday card shown above was created with one of the new stamp sets that Quietfire has just released, Happy Family Days Stamp Set #5909, just look at those curvy swirls and did you notice this stamp set matches Spellbinders S4-161 Labels One, you cam also find all of your Spellbinders die templates right here too at Quietfire.

I stamped the Family Days Stamp Set using the Happy Birthday sentiment on my My Minds Eye Indie Chic pattern paper, then die cut it using the Spellbinders Label One. Once it was cut and embossed I mounted it on a piece of Want2Scraps Label One Nestaboard, and inked the edges. I decided to embellish my birthday card with some simple hand stitching, everyone knows I love to sew on just about every project I create so this one was no exception! I used some DMC Floss and created my own stitching pattern and there you have it, a birthday card.
