Trick or Treat Tag

Hey Quietfire Fans! Halloween is only 21 days away and I'm excited to be back on the blog as I've created this spooky Trick or Treat Tag. By combining a variety of stamps as well as dies from A Way With Words, they were the perfect for my tag. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite fall beverage and learn how to recreate my tag at home.

To start, you'll need the Something Wicked stamp set. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Trick or Treat sentiment and stamp onto a piece of white cardstock. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the tree and stamp onto the same piece of white cardstock. Reapply ink to the tree and stamp again on the same piece of white cardstock. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Bat stamp and stamp onto the same piece of white cardstock. You'll need to repeat the previous step three more times. Fussy cut the trees, sentiment and seven trees out. Ink the edges of the trees, sentiment and seven trees using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Next, you'll need a #8 Distress Tag. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Carved Pumpkin, Twisted Citron and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink. Spritz the tag with water. Dry the tag with a heat tool.

Apply Emboss It Ink to the Leafy Acanthus Background stamp and stamp on the right hand side of the tag. Sprinkle Gothic Black Modern Gilding Powder overtop of the stamped image. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Apply Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink to the Crackle Background stamp and stamp randomly on the tag. Reapply ink to the stamp as needed. Apply Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink to the Crackle Background stamp and stamp randomly on the tag. Dry the tag.

The tag was missing something, so I applied Emboss It Ink to the Leafy Acanthus Background and stamp randomly on the edges of the tag. Sprinkle Gothic Black Modern Gilding Powder over top of the stamped image. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Die cut a 2 1/2" Stitched Oval out of White Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Carved Pumpkin and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink over the entire surface of the oval. Spritz the oval with water. Dry the oval with a heat tool. Apply Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink to the Crackle Background stamp and stamp randomly on the oval. Reapply ink to the stamp as needed. Apply Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink to the Crackle Background stamp and stamp randomly on the oval. Dry the oval.

Die cut the Flourished Oval Frame out of white cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the frame and sprinkle Gothic Black Modern Gilding Powder. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Distress the edges of the tag and oval. Ink the edges of the tag and oval using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Adhere the Flourished Frame to the oval. Use foam squares to adhere the oval to the middle of the tag.

Adhere one tree to the top right side of the oval. Adhere the other tree to the bottom left side of the oval. Foam square the Trick or Treat sentiment to the middle of the tag.

Adhere the seven bats as desired onto the tag. To finish the tag, tie a piece of black twine to the top of the tag.

Here are a few closeup photos of the finished tag.
