Quietfire Summer Blog Hop - Day 5

Hi, Diana here to wind up this fabulous blog hop here on Quietfire Design.  If you haven't commented on this week's blog hop, don't forget to go back and leave a comment for a chance to win.  Details at the bottom of this post.

Today I am sharing a couple of cards that use the same dies and stamp - just colored differently for a boy or girl.  It's handy to have both on hand if you don't know - and there always those surprises!  But this beautiful stamp from the Welcome Little One set works for either case.

The first card is done an a natural card stock - it has bits of handmade paper and is just a bit of a creamy gray - not quite white.  I honestly have no idea where I got it from but since I haven't gone out to shop much, I am really digging deep into my craft supplies!  Lol!

I stamped the card on white card stock and die cut it out of double stitched oval die.  The delicate flowers and frame is from this month's Spellbinders small die set.  I could not help but add some butterflies from the Butterflies Spray dies.    I used Copics to color my flowers.

For the baby girl card, I used white card stock for my base but sponged the top a soft pink and the bottom a very light green.  Again the butterflies match the flowers for an overall "pink" card but not overwhelmingly so.

As promised, here are the blog hop details.....

Each day we will be sharing a project or two to inspire your summer creativity.  We also have prizes!  There will be 2 prizes awarded, valued at $50 each and are a combination of Dies, Stamps and Digital files.  (Suzanne will have a look at the interests of the winners to decide what to give away! If you’re not a digital person, you won’t want those files!) These are beautiful - nice enough to frame and hang in baby's room :)

So, so pretty! I love how you've used your colors to highlight that lovely sentiment stamp. Your sponging on the second card gives almost a stained glass effect.

I agree with CraftyJo. This card is so elegant. It deserves a frame and a place on the baby's room wall. Beautiful use of Quietfire.

I really like the card format with the texture of the butterflies and and other die cuts. That you shaded just the top part of the card and lightened the color as you worked toward the middle added a richness to the card. Last, but not least, I love the sentiment. Definitely a card to be framed!!
