Quick Christmas Thank you card

It's almost Christmas! I hope you've got all your Christmas cards out by now.  I love opening the mailbox and finding a bit of that personal mail in the midst of junk mail - this is true anytime of the year but I love the frequency of it in December.  And it should keep going with a flurries of thank you cards in January.  So today I'm sharing a quick thank you card you can make and use up all those red and green scraps.

Many of the die cuts that I used were already around as extras from my previous Christmas card projects.  I did have to cut some extra pine branches to fill it in my little spray.  After gathering up one holly branch, one berry branch and 3 pine branches from the Create A Wreath set, I placed all of them together and hid the ends with a pinecone.  

I used a bit of holographic washi tape to run across the card - that was very helpful in lining up the pastel foil thank you die cut.  I topped off my spray with a bright red bow and voila - I've got a festive card ready to be filled in after all the presents are open.

Planning the Wedding Stationery!

Save The Date

Sending this out will certainly alert everyone that there something really big happening!  How exciting!

For this wedding set, I used Soft Finish Cardstock in white, both 90lb and 110lb.  The heavier cardstock makes a great cardbase so make sure you use that!  Soft finish cardstock has a wonderful delicate pebbled surface that softens blended inks.  It's very classy!

All the stationery features ink blending using Distress Worn Lipstick and Bundled Sage.   They vary a bit with placement in these samples, but you can be consistent throughout the collection. Adhere the elements with Micro Glue Dots.

Last summer Kathy Jo did a gorgeous wedding set using these dies.  Here is her Save the Date.  I'll share a few of her samples here, so you can see how she has used the same dies, but with a different design theme.  You can find even more of her ideas using these dies here including the Mr and Mrs die set.

Kathy Jo used a stamping platform to stamp out the information on the inside of the card!  Please Join Us and Months and Numbers were used to create this with formal black stamp ink!

You're Invited

Here it is!  The card they've been waiting for!  Add all the details inside and don't forget to include an RSVP card!

You're Invited is made the same way as Save the Date, simply change the diecut to You're Invited!

In this version the flourish from the Flourished Frame has been added underneath and the elements are cut from foiled cardstock.  Gorgeous!

Along with the invitation, you'll need an RSVP card.  Print the information on a separate paper and insert it with a couple of Glue Dots to the inside.  I've underlined the RSVP with the coordinating Long Stem Rose diecut.  So pretty!

Welcome

Once your guests have arrived, you might want to give them an Order of Service or Program.  Why not create a Welcome card!? 
This one is designed to unfold to all the information on the inside.  I've underlined the Welcome with the Long Stem Rose to coordinate with the RSVP.

Menu

After the ceremony, it's time to party!  If you're having a sit-down meal, you might like to include a menu at each place setting.  For these I've used the Menu diecut in two different ways.

The top one simply has the menu printed on a sheet of linen paper and then it is topped with the Menu diecut and Long Stem Rose, designed to continue the look of the RSVP and Welcome cards.

The second variation is a tent-fold card with Menu and Long Stem Rose on the front and the menu printed inside.

Favour Boxes

Give your guests a sweet memory of your special day with a tiny thank you gift box.  The Gable Box is a "fan favourite" for this job!

In this variation, I've used the little flourished rosebuds from the Rosebud Wreath and Elements die set.  These are some of the elements!

After the happy day, it's time to send out Thank You cards.  Continue on with the elegant look of your stationery by using Thank You 2 inside the Rosebud Wreath.

And last but not least....  It never hurts to have a little Love card handy if you're giving a gift or.....

This one uses the flourished rosebuds from the Rosebud Wreath & Elements and the A Way With Words Love diecut.

Thank you cards with Alcohol Ink backgrounds

Hello!  Today I'm sharing a set of notecards I made for my son to use as Thank You cards.  I'm running late so they needed to be really quick and easy.  But since I'm not big on mass producing, I needed a bit of variety to them.  Yay for Quietfire dies!  Did you know that there are 3 different "Thank you/Thanks" word dies available?  You would think you only need one but I find that having them in different sizes and arrangement really helps.

First, I finally jumped on the alcohol ink background so I had a bunch of them laying around.  Most were on the 5"x7" Yupo paper so I simply cut them in half and adhered them to a white card base.  And then I got a little more creative with cuts.

After deciding on the shape of the background layer, I die cut all of the different "thanks" type of die cuts to see which one would look best with the different layouts.  I came up with these 4 different cards:

For the first card, I simply die cut the new Thank you 3 metal die and placed in on the bottom of the triangle.  I did add a layer of Crystal Effects on the die to add just a bit of depth to the die cut.

For the second card, an older Thanks die went perfectly in the angled background.

For the third card, I embossed in silver and split the background along the diagonal.  

The last one is simply an oval with a bit of washi tape along the bottom. I'm really glad I had all these different dies that said essentially the same thing because it made the different layouts I had come together easily.  Which was your favorite?

3 Cards From One Background Die Cut

I apologize in advance for a very long post - but the good news is you don't have to read much and can just look at the pictures!  Lol!

But briefly, I got this Geometric Die from Elizabeth Craft Designs and was able to make 3 (!!!) cards out of one run of the die.  I am loving this method of making more with less.  Here is all 3 cards  - you can probably figure out how I did it but if you didn't, continue on!

I'll let the pictures do the talking and keep the explanations short:

Make a background.  I used Distress Oxides.  Die cut the sheet and leave everything intact on the cutting plate.  (Yes, my cutting plate is in dire need of replacing!)

Carefully lift up the thin outline portion and washi tape onto base layer.  Place the new Thank You die to the right. (A few of the triangles got stuck to the outline.)

Add foam tape to the rectangles that do not touch the word die.

Remove backing and carefully place all the rectangles back into the grid lines.  The outline helps to keep the spacing between the triangles precise.

Lift up the grid lines and voila - you've got a clean background and now you can adhere the Thank You die on there.  

You still have plenty of rectangles so now do the same thing with the "thank you" on the left.

And voila - you've got your second card.

For the third card, I noticed that the geometric background has a sort of symmetry to it and that there are 4 distinct blocks.  I cut out the 3rd block, leaving the border intact and added the Celebrate die to the center.  It was too busy for my taste to have all the lines in the background.

Just so you know, I still have all those triangles from the center of the die cut.  Don't be too surprised if you see a 4th card soon with those pieces!  These cards just make my mathematical background heart happy!
