Artist Trading Coins

Hello!! It's Wanda with you today.  Wow, can you believe it's July 2nd?  Half of 2018 is already behind us.

For this post I've made my first Artist Trading Coins.  What is an artist trading coin you ask.  They are like artist trading cards except they are a 2 1/2" circle instead of a 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" rectangle.  Cool, huh.  I found that one of the circles in the Sizzix/Tim Holtz Stitched Circles Die Set is exactly 2 1/2" and that is what was used to cut all the circles.

Also this post includes one coin (the last one) created by my daughter, Krista (her blog is http://papiliosrainbow.blogspot.com )  Her and her partner are taking their vacation at our place and we have been having a blast creating together.  Mostly we've been learning about acrylic paint pouring but we've also fit in a bit of stamping.

Most of the stamps used in this post are from the newest releases.  Fabulous stamps!!!!!!!!!!!  I hope you are inspired!!!!!!!

Quietfire Supplies used--

The background on the tulips coin is Wendy Vecchi Blendable Dye Ink.  The Tulips were stamped with Versamark Ink and embossed with Black Sparkle Powder.  Distress Markers and Water Brush to color in tulips.  Distress Paint around the edge.  An Idea-ology Small Talk Sticker for the words.

Tea Coin.  Distress Ink in the background.  Music stamped with Distress Ink.  Tea/Coffee Ring was stamped with Versamark and embossed with Potting Soil Powder.  TEA was embossed with Cactus Blossom Powder.  Around the edges I used Sticky Embossing powder and then leafing flakes.

Without Music Coin.  Background is Distress Oxide Inks.  Music stamped with Oxides.  Quote stamped with Archival Ink.  Butterfly stenciled with Oxide Ink and then with regular Distress Ink.  Queen's Gold Embossing Powder around the edge.

This last coin is the one made by my daughter.  She used Gelatos for the background.  Stamped and embossed the quote in Black.  Around the edges is Emerald Creek, Seth Apter Embossing Powder - Rocky Road.  The flowers and dragonfly are brads.

Thanks for following along today.  If you are in the USA, I hope you have a wonderful 4th of July this week.  Take time to enjoy family and friends!!!

Hugs, Wanda

These are just spectacular! I am really taken with the idea of coins vs. cards. The tulip are especially eye catching— a lot is packed onto a 2.5 inch circle and it looks just right. Beautifully and ingeniously done!
