Notes - The Music In My Heart - Split Easel

Yogi here today and I'm using another of the newest dies from Suzanne.

I'm using a die "Notes" 3pce set  from Elizabeth Craft Designs, also available on Quietfire Design HERE

And I'm using a rubber stamp quote from Quietfire Design ("The Music In My Heart...")

Cut, scored and folded my white cardstock (see diagram at left). Adhere the 2 side panels to floor. Adhered music scrapbook paper (Design Originals "Musical Notes") leaving a small border around each..

Stamped the violin player (LaBlanche "Composer w/Violin") using Versafine Black Onyx on white cardstock. Fussy cut and adhered to front.

Die cut the word and notes from black cardstock and adhered to front.

On the floor:

Cut a layer of black cardstock and then some of the note paper and adhered both to floor.

Stamped the quote onto white cardstock using the black and clear embossing. Die cut with Elizabeth Craft Designs "Stitched Rectangles" die set. Used a black bullet tipped marker for the edge. Adhered to floor. Adhered a musical note.

Destiny Tag

Hey Quietfire Fans! The weather here on the west coast has been dreary and that has me longing for the warmer weather. With thoughts of warmer weather on my mind, I created this bright Destiny tag which features a variety of Quietfire Design Stamps and A Way with Words dies. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage as you learn how to recreate my tag at home.

To start, cut a #8 Manilla Tag down to 5 3/4". Ink the edges of the tags using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Tear a piece of Collage Paper that measures 4 1/2". Sprinkle Aquamarine, Raspberry and Wisteria Magenta Nuance powder overtop of the collage paper. Spritz the powder with water. Dry the collage paper with a heat tool. Trace the tag around the collage paper. Cut the tag out. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Grid Background stamp and stamp randomly onto the collage paper. Reapply ink as needed to the stamp. Ink the edges of the collage paper tag using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Choose a piece of patterned paper. Trace the tag around the patterned paper. Cut the patterned paper tag out. Ink the

Stamping technique: Mix and Match stamp sets

Hello Crafty Friends!

Often times when crafting I tend to focus on one particular stamp set- forgetting that I have stamp sets to mix and match.  Quietfire Design has so many lovely stamp sets that work well together and it is fun to mix them!  Why not experiment and create a project using more than one set?  Mixing and matching is easy to do and is a great way to get even more uses out of your Quietfire Design stamps and dies.

Valentine's Day is just under three weeks away and I wanted to create a sweet love card.  I have a lot of white scrap paper so I challenged myself to create a card front using just white card stock.  First, I had to determine what stamp I wanted as the focal point.  I chose "I love you" from the I don't tell you often enough stamp set:
I Don't Tell You Often Enough, Set of 5 - Mounted
This stamp set has already had a lot of use on different cards and I welcomed one of the stamps to be used again.

Next I wanted to frame the sentiment.  One of the newly released stamp sets was an easy choice: Twiggy Wreath and Sentiments.
Twiggy Wreath and Sentiments, Set of 5 Stamps - Mounted

The sentiment is beautiful inside the twiggy heart:
Last, but certainly not least, was the background.   I am lucky enough to have each of the Quietfire Design stamp background stamps.  The crackle background called my name and I answered!  It was heat embossed in gold.  Next, three different shades of pink ink were added to the background.  The result is a stunning gold and pink background with the oh-so-heartwarming "I love you" elevated above.
The different stamps sets do work well together.  Challenging yourself to mix and match stamp sets or dies or digital files will definitely increase your creativity and projects.

Do you have a favorite Quietfire Design mix and match?  We would love to hear about your favorites and/or see your projects!  Feel free to do so in the comment section below or share on the new Facebook page: Suzanne Cannon Fan Group!

Thank you for stopping by!
Have a happy, crafty day.
Big Hugs,

This is Bliss Scrapbook Layout

Hello Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout featuring two dies of the new release by Suzanne Cannon.

The word 'Bliss' is perfect for as a page title for all of those happy scrapbooking events - vacations, sitting by the lake, having a pedicure, drinking a good cup of coffee, and so many more things.  I cut the word out of cream coloured cardstock and pink cardstock, offsetting them just slightly.

I used the butterfly spray die from the butterfly and stars spray die set to create a temporary stencil out of cardstock.  You could also use the die cut butterflies to accent your projects.

Adhere the stencil to the corner of your page with a bit of washi tape and use ink or other media to add some butterflies to your page background.

I used molding paste because I like a little dimension and texture on my scrapbook pages.  Plain white molding paste would add a subtle touch or you can colour it up with a drop or two of spray ink or reinker.  I just scoop a small spoonful of paste onto a scrap of cardstock and mix it up.   Just smear it through your stencil and let dry.  Use washi tape to block off areas on the stencil that you don't want to use and then just toss it into the trash when you're done.  It's easy enough to cut another one any time you want it!

That's all for today.  Thanks for dropping by and I hope you have a blissful experience planned in your future!

Brayered Embossing Just For You

Happy Tuesday!!  I hope your week is going well so far!!  I have a fun card for you today that would work well for Valentine's Day or anytime.

I've used Quietfire's Tulips rubber stamp and the cutting die set, Just for You.

For the background I've used a brayer, paint, and embossing powder.  I started with brayering a little bit of Fresco Finish Chalk Paint (Guacamoli).  This paint dries very quickly.  I had thought that maybe if I worked quickly some embossing powder would stick, but no.  It worked out well in the end.

Next I brayered some Distress Paint (Picked Raspberry).  This stays wet longer.

I then added Mixed Media Embossing Powder (Punch).  You can see it stuck well to the Distress Paint.

And here it is melted.

I stamped the Tulips with Archival Ink Jet Black onto watercolor paper.  I used the Stamping Platform so I could get a good image on the textured paper.  Color was added with Distress Inks and a water brush.

I die cut them into a deckled rectangle.

Just For You was cut from dark green cardstock and from gold Kraft Metallic.

I also cut a rectangle of the gold Kraft Metallic and ran it through an embossing folder.  The folded base is a gold metallic cardstock.

And there you have it.  A fun, easy card that could have many looks just by changing your paint and embossing powder colors.

Hugs, Wanda  (Art By Wanda)

Just A Note with New Quietfire Design Dies

I'm so excited to share with you a card I made with the new Quietfire Design dies!  There's just not enough happy snail mail nowadays - and imagine how happy the recipient would be to receive a card just because!

The first step to making the card above is to make a small envelope.  I dusted off my Memory Keepers envelope maker and made a tiny envelope out of some lined vellum.  Cut a square of 4" x 4" and score at 1 3/4" using the envelope maker.

To make the butterfly spray, I water colored a rainbow spray.  After running the die over the colored paper, I left the butterflies on the acrylic plate.

I used Press 'N Seal to keep the butterflies in place and added glue to the butterflies while still on the Press 'N Seal.

I flipped it over and added them exactly where I wanted them.  This is the easiest and fastest way I found to keep the butterflies in order of the rainbow.

Such beautiful cheer coming out!

I hope you like it and make one to send to a friend.  I mixed and matched the word dies to form the "Just A Note" sentiment.

You Are so Loved Art Journal Page

Hey Quietfire Fans! With Valentine's Day right around the corner and I thought that I'd share a love themed art journal page with you on the blog. My You Are so Loved Art Journal Page features a variety of Quietfire Design Stamps. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite winter beverage as you learn how to recreate my art journal page at home.

To start, paint two pages in your art journal page with White paint. Once the paint has dried, randomly paint streaks in the middle of the pages using Peony Blush and Cherry Pie Paint.

Once the paint in the middle has dried, place the Dotty Stencil randomly on the middle of your pages and spritz Post Box Red Dylusions Ink Spray overtop, stencil as many times as desired. Place the Heart Stencil randomly on the middle of your pages and spritz Black Marble Dylusions Ink Spray overtop, stencil as many times as desired. Place the Stitches Stencil randomly on the middle of your pages and spritz Rose Quartz Dylusions Ink Spray overtop, stencil as many times as desired. Once the ink spray has dried, paint white gesso slightly overtop of the pink areas. After the white gesso has dried, apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Crackle Background Stamp and Grid Background Stamp and randomly stamp in the pink painted areas.

Die cut one 3 1/2" Stitched Heart and two 3" Stitched Heart out of watercolour cardstock. Die cut eight small hearts out of watercolour cardstock using the Entwined Hearts. You'll also need a scrap piece of watercolour cardstock. On the three stitched hearts and scrap piece of watercolour paper, spritz them with water and then spritz with Rose Quartz, Cherry Pie and Postbox Red Dylusions Ink Spray. Dry the hearts and scrap piece of watercolour paper with a heat tool. Spritz the small hearts using Postbox Red, Cherry Pie and Rose Quartz Dylusions Ink Spray. Set the hearts aside to dry. Apply Emboss It Ink to the Twiggy Heart Wreath stamp and stamp onto the coloured scrap piece of watercolour cardstock. Sprinkle Midnight Black Embossing Powder overtop of the image. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Fussy cut the heart out. Ink the edges of the stitched hearts and fussy cut heart.

On a second piece of watercolour cardstock, spritz Cherry Pie, Rose Quartz and Postbox Red Dylusions Ink Spray. Dry the piece of watercolour cardstock with a heat tool. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the "You Are so Loved" sentiment and stamp onto the coloured piece of cardstock. Fussy cut the words out.

Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Grid Background and randomly stamp onto the three stitched hearts. Re-ink the stamp as desired. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Crackle Background and randomly stamp onto the three stitched hearts. Re-ink the stamp as desired.

Adhere the fussy cut heart to the 3 1/2" stitched heart. Adhere the 3 1/2" stitched heart to the middle of the page. Adhere one of the 3" stitched hearts to the left of the 3 1/2" stitched heart and adhere the other 3" stitched heart to the right of the 3 1/2" stitched heart. Adhere the "You Are so Loved" sentiment to the right of the right hand side stitched heart. To the right of the sentiment, adhere three small hearts. To the left of the small left hand side heart, adhere five small hearts.

Rub Worn Lipstick Distress Crayon along the edges of the art journal page. To finish off the art journal page, splatter Black Marble Dylusions Ink Spray randomly overtop of the art journal page.

Here are a few close up's of my You Are so Loved Art Journal Page.

Thanks so much for joining me today and taking a look at my project! I hope that I've inspired you to want to recreate my art journal page at home.
