Foiled Merry Christmas 2 - Bonnie Hampton, Guest Designer

Bonnie Hampton is back with us to share another fun and easy technique!  If you'd like to see her card earlier this month, click here

Merry Christmas 2
  1. On a non-stick craft mat, put down some colors of Distress Inks and gently spritz with water. I used northern lights colors - my favourite thing to try to replicate is the northern lights!
  2. Swipe a piece of watercolour paper through the wet colours and allow to dry.
  3. Place the panel in the Stampin' Up Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and run through the Big Shot.
  4. Highlight the raised trees with Black Soot Distress Ink.
  5. Add snow in the sky, crooks of branches and on the ground. I used Marvy's Snow Marker by simply drawing on the paper surface.  Apply heat with a heat tool and it puffs up!
  6. Cut Quietfire's Merry Christmas 2 from Inkssential Metal Foil Tape Sheet and apply to card.

A big thanks to Bonnie for sharing her projects!  You can visit Bonnie's blog and more of her awesome cards at Bonnie Lynn's Blog.

Winter Wonderland - Bonnie Hampton, Guest Designer

Hello everyone! I am delighted to be guest designer for Quietfire Design this month. I use so many of Suzanne's elegant calligraphy stamps on my cards, they stamp beautifully time after time and add the extra touch of style to my cards.
Today I have chosen a winter themed card to share with you. Here is how you can make it.

Instructions:
  1. Winter Wonderland Stamp Set
Start with smooth Bristol paper and scribbled various colors of Zig Clean Color brush markers in a random pattern on it. Spritz with water until the colors started to blend on their own. Don't be tempted to tilt the paper at this point as the colors lose their individuality and you get a very muted blend. Let dry completely.
  2. Dry emboss some snowflakes on the edges. I used a Sizzix embossing folder and only embossed parts of the pattern on various parts of the card.
  3. Now stamp and heat emboss Quietfire's Winter Wonderland greeting, snowflakes and deer in silver embossing powder.
  4. Edge each side of the panel with Inkssentials foil tape sheets and mount the panel on a textured white card base.

I made a second card in the same fashion this time deleting the pink from the color scheme and going just with icy blues and greens. I chose a circular base and this time fussy cut the deer after embossing and popped it up on the edge.

Ed. Note:  Bonnie is a busy crafter and makes lots of gorgeous cards!  Check out her blog https://bonnielynnsblog.wordpress.com/  for a real treat!  Make sure you leave her some love in the comments!  Bonnie will be back in a couple of weeks with more inspiration.
