CHRISTMAS IS THE DAY, & OTHERS- ONE SHEET WONDER 16 CARD STASH BUILDER

Hi Everyone! This is Holly, and I'm hoping that today I can show you a fun way to build up your Christmas card inventory. Sixteen different cards, all simple, and you can bling them up way more than I have. Keep them simple for mailing, or go over the top and hand deliver. Or create a box :)
The first photo shows the cards created, and a bonus tag from the leftovers.
Let me show you how.

On a 12x12 sheet of white cardstock, I randomly stamped the following:
From the Christmas Cuddlers stamp set, I chose the JOY stamp and used it with Fired Brick Distress Ink. From the Christmas Is the Day set, I used the two trees with Peeled Paint and Shabby Shutters Distress Inks. Forest Moss Distress Ink was used with the holly stamp from the Deck the Halls stamp set. The snowflakes were inked with Stormy Sky Distress Ink.
Once the stamping was done, it was time to add some sparkle-always fun! You can add glue and glitter, emboss with metallic or sparkly embossing powder, doodle with glittery gel pens, add flat-backed rhinestones...whatever you want.

This is the 'designer' paper I created.

This is how I cut it up.

These are the measurements of my pieces. You can cut up your designer sheet the same, or do your own thing. The idea is to make up a lot of card elements. You can always trim a piece, as you go, if you need to.
I folded 16, 81/2" x 51/2" pieces of white card stock for the card bases, and added some coloured cardstock to match the inks as closely as possible. I dry embossed lots of the coloured card stock pieces with Spellbinders M-Bossibilities  folders.

The Merry Christmas stamp is from Christmas Is the Day set and stamped with Jet Black Archival Ink.

The Believe stamp is from Textured Holiday Words and stamped using the same black ink.

I kept these cards very simple to show you how easily this One Sheet Wonder design helps you create a stash of different cards. Lots of them can be mailed "as is" and others can be blinged up.
I've used traditional Christmas colours here but anything you want, goes. How about monochromatic? How about no images, just words? Stamp onto ready-made designer paper.
You can find it all at Quietfire Design, and create a nice supply of cards in a very short time.
What I've shown you today, could be done in a couple evenings.

I hope you try this and create a great batch of cards, in plenty of time for mailing.
Thank you for looking today!

CAS - Perfect Pearls - Xmas Cards

hi there, Yogi here today with a couple CAS cards for Xmas...

PS the card below shows the Perfect Pearls background to better advantage...

Both cards start of with a side folded 5.5" x 4.25" white cardstock. I taped off a 1/2" border all around (ps if you're doing multiples, just make yourself a stencil for the border from thin cardstock or clear plastic).
Stamped the Textured Holiday Word stamp repeatedly using Versamark (can use Perfect Medium or Distress Emboss pad as well). While the ink was wet, dusted on Perfect Pearls (Perfect Gold, Rust, Forever Green). Wiped off the excess with a dry paper towel. Removed my tape and drew a border around my stamping. Red Zig marker on one and a Faber Castell Artist Pen "Copper " for the other.

On the first card I stamped the tree/deer image (Memory Box) with Versafine Black Onyx.

On the card at right I stamped the Holly leaf flourish with Versafine "Spanish Moss" and embossed with "Queen's Gold" and some "Olive Leaf" embossing powder.

To create the raised leaves, I stamped them again in black, scanned them, and cut with my electronic cutter, then applied some of the Moss and embossed with the same powders. (PS if you don't have an electronic cutter, you could just hand cut them.

I adhered them to the card so the leaves were raised, (see detail pic below) and added a large red rhinestone.

The sentiment was stamped with the Black and clear embossed.

Hope you give it a try if you're looking for something quick and easy. The Perfect Pearls give such a nice background.

SNOWFLAKES ARE THE BUTTERFLIES- GIFT CARD HOLDERS

Hi Everyone! Holly here with an idea or two for giving gift cards this Christmas. I have two styles to share and I believe they can easily be adapted for birthdays and other occasions.
Both gift card holders use the Snowflakes are the Butterflies stamp set. The ornament shaped one also uses the Deck the Halls , Christmas CuddlersRejoice and Hallelujah and Textured Holiday Words   stamp sets. The scalloped square one also uses the Flourishes 1 stamp set.

Both gift card holders use a brad hinge to allow the top to swing aside to show the gift card. This one uses two slots cut into the paper to hold the card.
This card holder has a pocket to hold the card.
Distress Inks were used for all the stamping and sponging around the edges.
There are no limits to the shape you choose as long as it's large enough to hold the card. The pocket requires a larger design, whereas the slot design allows for a smaller shape.
This can be presented as a card or hang it on the tree as an ornament.

Here you see the top 'leg' of the brad rolled with round nose pliers to create a hanging loop.
My next post will be after Christmas, so I'd like to extend my best wishes for a very Merry Christmas or Happy Holiday season. May you stay safe and be happy!

TEXTURED HOLIDAY WORDS- COAT/PURSE PIN

Hi Everyone! This is Holly with an altered item for you today.
It all starts with a button pin, and I found a bunch at the Thrift Store and a couple in my junk drawer.
I chose the 'Believe' stamp from the Textured Holiday Words set and stamped it using a Jet Black Archival Ink Pad. I used a variety of sheets of paper from the Simple Stories 25 Days of Christmas paper pad {Ed. Note: Sorry!  This paper is now sold out, but we have lots of other beautiful papers!} to cover the button pin and then make the layers behind it. Spellbinders Classic Scallop Circles created the layers and cut out the center circles to access the pin back.
This pin uses Spellbinders Stars and 'Rejoice' from the Rejoice and Hallelujah stamp set, with a small Flourish added. 'Rejoice' was stamped with a Sepia Archival Ink Pad and the edges were sponged with Distress Inks. Gold glitter was mixed into Diamond Glaze and applied to the star and around the button base.
These pins are like potato chips- you can't have just one. Make some for friends too.

Thanks for looking!
