Thank You For Being My Friend

Good Morning, this is Selma today.  You can always create a beautiful card when you use the Quietfire Design stamps and A Way With Words dies.  Today I designed a card to thank someone for being my friend.

On the front of the card I used the new, A Way With Words "Thank You" dies for the gorgeous sentiment, which was placed in a frame created with Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Frames.  On the side of the stitched frame, I added a doily die cut  from the ECD Paris Edges and a Susan's Garden Notes Hyacinthe.  Lavender, flat back pearls were added on the corners.

On the inside of the card, I used two Quietfire Design stamp sets.

Floral Thank You - Set of 4 Stamps - Mounted

The "Thank You" oval, from the Floral Thank You set, was stamped using VersaFine Ink, then die cut using one of the ECD Stitched Oval dies.  It was backed with another ECD Fitted Frames Curvy Oval die cut using purple card stock.

Thanks Cuddlers, Set of 7 Stamps - Mounted

In the center of the Thank You oval, I used the "for being my friend, stamp from the Thanks Cuddlers set.

I know you will love being able to use the A Way With Words die cuts along with the Quietfire stamps.

Do you have someone that you need to thank for being a special friend?

Floral Thank You - Guest Designer Chana Malkah

Hello, Crafty Peeples!
This post features my final projects as a Guest Designer for Quietfire Creations.
One of the products provided by Quietfire was their Floral Thank You (Item #5833.)
The versatility of this rubber stamp set is a delight for the card crafter's heart!

A Boxed Thank You Card Set allows the use of all stamps in the Collection.

Directions for creating the box and lid can be found HERE  Thanks, PootlesPapercraft for the wonderful tutorial!

I chose not to show all the cards I created for this project.
The box accommodates 8 cards with envelopes

I also created this combination Gift Card/Treat Box project using the "Thank You" sentiment!

These little boxes are easy to construct and and a perfect vehicle for the "Thank You" sentiment.
I originally planned to create a box using the same papers, but I was out of Teresa Collin's "Fabrications."  Hershey's Kisses look great in these boxes but all I had on hand were some Chiclets!

Directions for creating the Gift Card/Treat Box can be found HERE.   Thanks, PootlesPapercraft for the wonderful tutorial!

Materials Used:
Gift Card Box
Teresa Collins Fabrications 8"x8" Designer Paper Pad

CAS - Dahlia - Thank You card

Yogi here today with a CAS card.

Side folded the white cardstock to make a 4.25"w x 5.5"h card.

Die cut the Dahlia (Spellbinder's ""Dahlia") from white cardstock to use as a stencil and a mask.

Lay the die cut drop out piece on my card where I want the design to land. Taped it at one corner with removable tape. Lay the stencil down positioning it to fit around the Dahlia, taped the stencil down with removable tape, and then removed the drop out piece.

Stamped the two line "Thank You" stamp with Versafine Black Onyx, stamping off the edges, removed stencil and clear embossed. Stamped the butterfly with Versafine "Satin Red" and touching here and there with the black pad, clear embossed.

Placed stencil back in place and sponged Distress "Mustard Seed" heavily around edges and lighter toward the center, then "Worn Lipstick" lightly around the edges. Removed stencil.

Die cut a Cheery Lynn Designs "Fanciful Flourish" from white cardstock to use as a stencil. Placed my Dahlia drop out piece in place with removable tape, then positioned the Flourish sprig taping down with removable tape. Sponging with "Shabby Shutters" & the Lipstick.

Technique: ink up the sponge and press down firmly, lightly wiggling the sponge in place to transfer the ink. If you try to sponge in a normal circular motion, the stencil will lift and get destroyed. Continue till the area is colored, then go back in and touch here and there with a red sponge. Move the stencil to another area to continue the design.

Stamp the 1 line "Thank You" with the black.

Place the die over the design, tape down with removable tap and emboss using the tan mat to get a nice Dahlia impression.

Enjoy and have fun creating.

If Nothing Ever Changed - Cards Using Vellum

Hi Everyone! Holly here today, and I thought it might be fun to share a few ways to use vellum.

My first card uses GOLD VELLUM which has been embossed with Spellbinders
IMPERIAL M-BOSSIBILITES, and attached to the bottom of a white card base.

The top section has VELLUM with a distress ink technique applied. Use a piece of vellum, larger than your design area, to allow for easy handling, and tearing the edges.
Start by swiping the SPICED MARMALADE DISTRESS INK across the vellum. Press a clean, dry stamp onto the ink, lift off, and clean the stamp. Repeat. I used BUTTERFLIES / DRAGONFLIES
stamps here. Finish off by pouring clear EMBOSSING POWDER onto the ink, and heating as usual.
When cool to the touch, tear along each edge, adhere to top section of card base. Trim any excess over the card base if necessary.

IF NOTHING EVER CHANGED was stamped onto card stock, then cut out with Spellbinders Floral Oval, and attached to the card. The small butterfly was stamped onto vellum with timber brown stazon ink, then coloured on the back with a yellow TOMBOW MARKER.
After cutting it out, the wings were folded up, and it was glued to the card.

This card has gold embossed vellum, attached to white card stock, then attached to the card base.
FLORAL THANK YOU stamps were used on the plain vellum strip, at an angle, as shown. The Thank You was embossed with gold embossing powder, and the bouquet was stamped with JET BLACK STAZON. The image was coloured from behind as well, then embossed with a stylus.
I folded a paper towel to give me a bit of cushion to press against, without tearing through the vellum.
Embossing gives a white highlight.

I hope you give vellum a try, if you haven't already. It's a very exploratory product, and we'd love to know what you do with it.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
Have a wonderful day, and thank you for looking!

Floral Thank You

Happy Monday!!!!!!!!!!

It's Wanda (design team alumni) here today to share a tag with you using a stamp from the Floral Thank You set.

I love how this background turned out and it's very easy to do!!!!  I put the Dreamweaver stencil, jungle leaves, on a #10 manila tag centering it side-to-side just below the reinforced hole, applied translucent paste with a palette knife, and removed and washed the stencil.  While the paste was still wet I "sprayed" on Distress Stains picked raspberry, peacock feathers and squeezed lemonade.  Yes, I said "sprayed"... to do this I opened the stain bottles (you can pry the top off where the seam is between the black plastic and the white) and poured each one into a mister bottle... ta-da Sprayable Stain.  I let the stain just sit and dry naturally on the paste leaving fabulous color - deeper where the paste is and lighter on the manila.  I tore off the bottom of the tag and added Distress Paint tarnished brass to the edges going wider along the torn bottom.

For the flowers and leaves I cut Spellbinders bitty blossoms from watercolor paper, sprayed each flower with stain (same colors as background) and stained the leaves with mowed lawn.  I added shading to each flower and leaf with Distress Ink in their respective colors (for the lines on the leaves I folded the leaf and rubbed the fold with Distress ink) and also white pen doodling on each flower, rolled up and glued each flower and added a white pearl bead to the center of the largest flower.

For the sentiment, I stamped "Thank You" with Archival Ink jet black on a piece of 13mm white silk ribbon, added color with Distress stains and dried it. The ink bleeds slightly on the ribbon but overall when seeing it in person and not on a computer screen, it looks good!!!    Attached the piece as shown taping it to the back of the tag and glued on the leaves and flowers. A piece of pretty paper can be cut and attached to the back of the tag to hide the taped ends.

For the bow, I again took 13mm ribbon, laid it on a craft sheet and sprayed it with Distress Stain, spraying one color, then another color next to it and continuing until the whole piece was sprayed... if there were any spots where a color wasn't bleeding into the next color I put just a little spray of water to help it along... and dried the ribbon.  I did not move the piece of ribbon until it was getting dry so the colors wouldn't get messed up...  put the ribbon through the hole, tied a bow and then added white pen squiggles to the ends.

Floral Thank You French Country Style!

Good morning!  Sherry here with you today and I have a card using Floral Thank You, lots of Spellbinders and Graphic 45 French Country to share with you.  I have to admit that my project today was supposed to be a journal page (well at least in mind that what I had planned).  Needless to say, after a few unsuccessful attempts and some ripping and tearing of pages, I ended up with the following card instead.

ThankYouCardAug2013

Using Graphic 45 French Country Collection for the card base, all the guess work of matching paper was taken out of the equation.  I love to work with Graphic 45 papers . . . the mixing and matching is all right there for you!  The border under the distressed paper edge was created with Spellbinders A2 Scalloped Borders One.

The sentiment “Thank You” was stamped on a cutout from the French Country Collection and then wrapped with a frame die cut from chipboard using Labels Twenty-Eight.

ThankYouCardAug2013 Sentiment

The flower was made using Bitty Blossoms, wrapping all three layers together.  The ribbon was dyed with Aged Mahogany Distress Stain and the edges of all the paper where sponged with Antique Linen and/or Vintage Photo.

Thanks for joining me today!

Floral Thank you

Hi Y'all, Robyn here with a question- to color or not to color?

The Floral Thank You is the focus of this card and introducing the Flourished Leaf Oval Frame, Digital cut file for all y'all with digital cutting machines. If you don't have a machine, some of the files have a PDF file you can hand cut.

I made an embossing mask with my cutter out of chip board to get the swiss dots only on the outside of the frame- a Cuttlebug folder.

The stamps are thermal embossed with Queens Gold, my new fav.

Then I colored.
Leave a comment of which on you like best.

This simple card is made with the same stamp set and the  Digital Flourished Leaf Rectangular Frame.
So much is happening at Quietfire Design, new stamps, new digital cutting files, new designers!!!( you might be seeing less of me) so be sure to stop back here often and on our FB page and share what you are creating with us!

Please note:  We are unable to ship orders from July 29 to August 7, 2013.
We apologize for any inconvenience.

HOME-FLORAL THANK YOU-CARDS

Hi Everyone! This is Holly and I would like to share a couple cards I made using NEW stamp sets from Quietfire Design, HOME, and FLORAL THANK YOU.
This thank you card is 1 1/4" squares, cut from a quarter sheet of glossy card stock, that was heat embossed with RANGER QUEEN'S GOLD embossing powder, then inked with RANGER DISTRESS INKS  The stamps were placed randomly and the inks were sponged on randomly.
Makes it all so easy!
The squares were adhered to a base that had been embossed with TIM HOLTZ EMBOSSING FOLDER- RAYS AND RETRO CIRCLES, followed by a stamped and trimmed Thank You, using 3D FOAM SQUARES.

This card is the same idea, just uses different shapes and colours, the HOME-CONGRATULATIONS stamp set and SPELLBINDERS M-BOSSIBILITIES SO TRENDY for embossing the base mat.

Thank you for looking today and I hope you'll try this 'grid' type design.
