Autumn Miracles Woven Spine Card

Yogi here today with a woven spine detail that I love... and is available on my website in a jpg image and SCUT3 (Sure Cuts a Lot) file.

If you don't have an electronic cutter or can't use the files, try using the American Traditional "Wide Arrow" template, moving the template to get the length you need. The weave is narrower but just as pretty.

I eCut the woven spine, masked with post it notes, colored with Distress (Seedless Preserves & Dusty Concord) direct to paper, removed masks and placed them on the other side coloring with (Scattered Straw & Wild Honey), scored and folded (5"w x 7"h). see diagrams at bottom of post.

Cut a separate piece of white cardstock and embossed with Sheena Douglas "Ivy Frame" inking the negative side of the folder with the Straw and hitting here and there with the Honey, misting with water then embossing.  Trimmed and adhered to purple cardstock then on to my card front.

Adhered two pieces of narrow purple ribbon (one gauze and one narrow silk).

Stamped the word "miracles" cut from the "If You Don't Believe" stamp (or you could mask off the unwanted areas and use a stamp positioner), inked with Versafine Black Onyx, clear embossed.

Stamped the Wine quote with Distress "Dusty Concord and clear embossed.

Stamped the grape flourish with the purple, clear embossed, touched with a Quickie glue pen and sprinkled with Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter "Purple" & "Chartreuse"

eCut the word "Autumn" from white cardstock and while on the mat inked with Versafine "Toffee, removed from mat and embossed with Stampendous opaque "Honey" embossing powder.

eCut a shadow layer and colored with the purples, then adhered the yellow layer, then on to the card.

Inside:  Stamped the bottom part of the "If You Don't Believe" quote using the Concord and clear embossing, added the word "too" with a black fine tipped pen.

Inked the birthday with "Picked Raspberry" and hitting here and there with Preserves, misted lightly with water and stamped.

Cut apart the floral flourish and placed them on my acrylic block spread apart to the size I wanted, inked with the Raspberry and Preserves and stamped. Repeated for the bottom flourishes. Used a Sakura metallic pink gel pen to add faux stitching joining the flourishes.

Dia 3: turn over, mask, color with the yellow and orange pads. remove masks.

Dia 5: trim top edge level to folds, then trim bottom edge.

HOPE- LIFE JOURNEY WORDS- CARD

Hi Everyone! It's Holly here today, with a fairly Clean & Simple card for you.

I began by masking the center panel and stamping along both sides of it. I used a two inch wide strip, and repositionable tape to hold it in place while I stamped.

 

From the HOME-CONGRATULATIONS stamp set, I cut the foliage away from the house, and used it, with a variety of green DISTRESS INKS. I sponged more ink close against the edge of the mask, then removed the mask from the card.

I drew black lines along the edge of the stamping, then stamped the center panel.

 

I stamped the barberry bush image from ILLUMINATIONS 1 with Peeled Paint Distress Ink, then over-stamped the image with the small BUTTERFLY, using Jet Black ARCHIVAL INK. With the same ink, I stamped HOPE from the LIFE JOURNEY WORDS stamp set. I added a little bling from my stash and called it done.

You are Amazing, Congratulations

Hi Everyone, Jutta Maraun here with the honor of being Quietfire Design guest designer for August.

I have enjoyed using Quietfire Design Stamps and products since my dear friend Holly introduced me to them in 2010.
 

Today I’d like to share with you my Versatile Congratulations Card.

The wonderful Home – Congratulations! Stampset and Webster’s Pages 6x6 designer paper are the inspiration for this card. I call it versatile because after I added the pearls to the nest I thought it will work as a Congrats on starting a family card too.
 

To begin, I cut a base and the mat from TH Kraft-core Nostalgic collection 12x12 Cardstock stack.

Then I stamped the 1-1/2” White Silk Ribbon with Congratulations and Floral Scrolls from the Home – Congratulations! Stampset.
 

To assemble I adhered the Designer paper to the Kraft-core mat, then attached the Ribbon with two strips of 3/16” Be creative Double Sided Tape. Then this lot was attached to the base and coloured beads were added.

With the left over pieces I made this Bookmark.  The You are Amazing stamp is one of my all time favorites. The Die is Memory Box Umbrell  and the Ribbon is the ½” White Silk to which I added Distress Ink stripes in matching colours.

HOME-FLORAL THANK YOU-CARDS

Hi Everyone! This is Holly and I would like to share a couple cards I made using NEW stamp sets from Quietfire Design, HOME, and FLORAL THANK YOU.

This thank you card is 1 1/4" squares, cut from a quarter sheet of glossy card stock, that was heat embossed with RANGER QUEEN'S GOLD embossing powder, then inked with RANGER DISTRESS INKS  The stamps were placed randomly and the inks were sponged on randomly.

Makes it all so easy!

The squares were adhered to a base that had been embossed with TIM HOLTZ EMBOSSING FOLDER- RAYS AND RETRO CIRCLES, followed by a stamped and trimmed Thank You, using 3D FOAM SQUARES. 

 

This card is the same idea, just uses different shapes and colours, the HOME-CONGRATULATIONS stamp set and SPELLBINDERS M-BOSSIBILITIES SO TRENDY for embossing the base mat.

Home–Be Not Forgetful!

Good morning!  Sherry here today and I have a project to share using Graphic 45 French Country and the new Quietfire release, Home – Congratulations!  

The base is a page from an old chipboard album, that was covered with papers from the Graphic 45 French Country Collection.  The edges of the paper were sanded away and then sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink.  The black border at the bottom was die cut/embossed with Spellbinders A2 Scalloped Borders One.  The frame was made from a piece of chipboard that had been covered with another paper design from the collection.  It was die cut with Spellbinders A2 Distressed Edges.

The sentiment was stamped in black and then die cut/embossed with Spellbinders Labels Twelve.  While the paper was still in the die, Antique Linen was used to stencil in some color leaving a nice white edge around the sentiment.

The seam binding ribbon was dyed with Aged Mahogany Distress Stain and Ink.  The flower was die cut from watercolor paper with Spellbinders Jewel Flowers and Flourish.  Because I wanted it to resemble the sunflowers in the paper, it was colored with Mustard Seed and Wild Honey Distress Stains and highlights were added with Rusty Hinge and Fired Brick inks.

Home-Congratulations Card



Hello Everyone, Terre here with another creative card featuring Quietfire Designs! I hope that everyone had a very special Mother's Day! For my card today I used the "new" Home-Congratulations Stamp set which feature 5 fabulous sentiments.

The paper choice for this card was a collection from Basic Grey, I used my favorite glue Beacon Adhesives Zip Dry...love it to secure all of those wonderful die cut pieces together.

I stamped my sentiment in the inside of my card and created a sliding band to go around the outside of my card.

My card base is created using Spellbinders LF-246 Grand Labels Eleven, the die template on the outside attached to the band is a Die D-lite Medallion. I used some Want2Scrap bling to accent the medallion as well as a Nina Bracket Border Bling for the inside. Thank you for stopping by my blog post today and remember to "Like" us on Facebook! Home-Congratulations

 Robyn here, and where ever you are, whatever you are doing, Congratulations! You deserve it!

Here are two quick cards highlighting the new Home-Congratulations set by Quietfire Design.

I shaped the card using Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles and cut out one of the small tags to hold a gift card made from Decorative Labels One.
I left the card stock in the dies while I added Distress Lilac and China, and that held the crisp white edge.
Th quotes are stamped in Versafine Deep Lagoon and thermal embossed clear.
Just a touch of gold around the outer edges gives it a finished look.

The flourished home stamp and Congratulations created the background.

The inside

This card is simply 3 layers of Spellbinders Card Creator Matting Basics A2.

Be Not forgetful is a re -sized oldie and goody!

The background I got at a GNO at my LSS. We all brought some of our fav stamps, lots of card stock and ink and stamped away. There was also lots of food and chocolate! We had tons of fun and I'm amazed at how often I am using these pre stamped panels. Thanks girls of ASAP!

Be Not Forgetful - Faux Stitching

Yogi here using the faux stitching/quilting technique that Holly started our month off with. I expanded on it a bit...

So I raided my scrap drawer of decorated papers in green tones and punched a whole bunch of 3/4" squares using an EK Success slim punch. I then adhered them to cream toned cardstock, avoiding the middle area since it would be covered with the quote. When everything was adhered, I then did faux stitched using a Micron pen. Trimmed my background down and adhered to my cream toned card front (5"w x 7"h), then did faux stitching all around.

Stamped my quote (Home/Congratulations set) on another lighter toned cream cardstock using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Die cut with Spellbinders "Floral Ovals" using a piece of Tyvek between my die and cardstock. The die cut just pops out beautifully... PS you can use the Tyvek over again in the die or color it and use it on a card.

Sponged Distress "Shabby Shutters" and a touch of "Mustard Seed" around the edges and adhered to card with 3D foam squares.

Tied a peg bow from 1.5"w green gauze ribbon and adhered to card with Golden's Extra Heavy gel medium.

Dug into my stash and pulled out a matching green butterfly (Cottage Cutz "Filigree Trio"). Added some white half pearls to the body. and voila!!

May Your Home be Filled!

Good morning!  Sherry here with you today and I’ve got a simple layered card to share.  I’ve been having some fun recently working on single layered cards with some stenciling.  For some reason this process has taken me back a few years when we all stamped our backgrounds and used different tools to create with.  Today’s mixed media reminds me of those days and I’ve really gotten lost in the creative process.

I used 140 lb. watercolor paper for the entire card, including the base.  I love the thickness of the watercolor paper for my card base, so that it doesn’t feel so flimsy.  The paper for the card base was scored in the middle and folded before die cutting with Spellbinders Matting Basics.  I used the largest die (#7) of Matting Basics B for the card base and Matting Basics A for the front panel.

Using painters tape, Die Template #4 of Classic Hearts was taped to the front panel.  Using a stencil brush, layers of Victorian Velvet and Seedless Preserves was brushed on the paper.  

Splatters of acrylic paint were applied to the front panel with a watercolor brush.  While some of the splatters were still wet, canned air was used to spread the splatters out.   A Pigma Micron pen was used to draw the squiggles around the edges of the card and heart.  Splatters of gold were added with a gold paint pen.  The sentiment, May Your Home be Filled, was stamped in archival black.

HOME-CONGRATULATIONS CARD

Hi Everyone! Holly here and I'm very happy today to be bringing you a simple technique, and using the new stamps, HOME-CONGRATULATIONS from Quietfire Design. This fabulous set has five stamps relating to 'home'. I have a special fondness for anything home related these days, as we are in the midst of selling one and buying another. At least we hope we are.

So, on to the technique Faux Quilted Frame.

You may choose any shape frame you like. I chose the oval from Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large as it allowed for extra room around the sentiment for the quilting.

 

I also chose designer paper from Kaisercraft Magic Happens paper pack. The colours in it matched RANGER Distress Inks Dusty Concord and Milled Lavender beautifully. I lightly sponged a little around the cut designer paper and very lightly on the oval cut sentiment.

The sentiment and house design were stamped with Jet Black Archival Ink and set aside to dry thoroughly before sponging on the distress inks.

 

I cut 3/4" squares from cardstock coloured to match, and embossed the milled lavender pieces, using Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Imperial. Then, I assembled the card by attaching the designer paper to the top section of the card base and adhering the oval to the center of it. I laid out the squares, then glued them down.

 

Using the oval die and a black pen, I drew the faux quilting line following the edge of the oval. I outlined the entire card with faux stitching to complete it.

 

As promised, a simple technique that allows for lots of changes- use more than two colours for the squares, use one colour and different embossing designs, use design paper for the squares- change it however you like. Darker colours look better with white ink stitching. Just play and try things.

Congratulations on Your New Home! Card

Hi there!  It's Suzanne today, wondering what has happened to April!!

Here is a little card for you with a whole bunch of elements that I've been wanting to use.

First, I should introduce you to the new rubber stamps!  They were designed for someone with a new home, but they can all be used for other occasions.

Here is the whole set of five stamps. And here is the link to the set! Just click on the image below to see them larger.  Be Not Forgetful is a smaller version of a stamp we released quite a few years ago.  The technical problems have been remedied in this version.  Ahem, by mistake I left out the attribution...  It's the Bible, from Hebrews.  We hope you like our new collection!

I used VersaFine Crimson for stamping the images and blending around the edges.  I adore the little wood houses from Prima and the Memory Box star on a string. I'm finally getting to use the new Graphic 45 French Country papers.  They always makes me smile.  At CHA they were always playing Edith Piaf in their booth!! I think I would have gone insane after 4 days... either that, or I wouldn't have been able to speak English anymore.  My husband would have been impressed. Non, Je ne Regrette Rien!
