"If you don't believe in miracles" Butterflies card

Are you looking for an inspirational card for someone special?  Quietfire Design has the most beautiful and inspirational stamps to choose from!  Today's card has a heart warming stamp as the focal point, If you don't believe in miracles from the same named stamp set:

The butterfly background was created using the sweet butterflies from the Butterflies/Dragonflies stamp set:

The background used both butterflies.  The butterflies were randomly stamped using two different shades of pink.  On a separate sheet of card stock I stamped another butterfly and fussy cut it out.  It was used on top of the gorgeous stamped quote.

The stamp sets look so lovely together!  If you are not a fan of pink then try it out in different colors.  Imagine how pretty it would be in a cobalt blue...hmm...I think I need to try that next!

"Believe in Yourself" inspiring Peacock card

Hello Crafty Friends!  Kathy Jo here sharing an inspiring card using one of my all time favorite stamp sets from Quietfire Design, If You Don't Believe in Miracles:

Oh- I have used this set so many times...love it!  Each stamp is inspirational and gorgeous. A must have for any stamper!

For the card I started with Spellbinders Reflective Moment to die cut 100 lb white card stock.  It was formed as an easel frame:

Distress Stains in Broken China, Peacock Feathers and Mowed Lawn were applied as shown.  The shimmery peacock was fussy cut from patterned paper (unknown) and adhered.  

The stamp looks beautiful!

The card would be a great gift for a friend or loved one as daily encouragement or inspiration.

Believe in yourself

The excitement of the holidays is so contagious and it's so much fun to start in with projects for all of them early.  This month it's a good time to give cards to those we are thankful for in our lives and it doesn't have to be anything special but just send something hearfelt you created to show you care.

My card today is made with the "Believe in yourself" stamp from the "If you don't believe in Miracles" set of 3.  I have a friend who is trying for an internship and i thought this would

be the perfect card to give her with a fun snowflake kind of feel since snow is arriving everywhere

already.  I used lots of white cardstock and Spellbinders dies and a embossing folder to create

the base for the card.  And the flowers are from Becca Feekens newest realease called Cinch and Go

Flowers.  They were super easy to make and you could even dip them in color around the edges

if you wanted to add something to it.  

The stamp is done with black versafine ink and silver embossing powder and i love the way it 

stands out and has a pretty shine to it.  It's really a gorgeous stamp and so are the others in the set.

If You Don't Believe in Miracles Burlap Canvas

Good Morning!!!!  Wanda here today to share a 4" x 6" burlap canvas I've created.  

I began by spraying Color Wash sprays (denim, sailboat blue, lettuce) onto the canvas.  While it was still damp, I scraped white embossing paste here and there, spreading it as flat as I could make it.  This was left to dry completely.  Next I added embossing paste through a stencil (Dreamweaver LJ907) in 3 areas and let it dry.  

The quote, If you don't believe in miracles, is stamped onto a square of torn natural muslin using Archival Ink jet black and dried.  I very lightly sprayed tumbled glass Distress Spray Stain over the square and dried it.  This square is attached with brads to a piece of Warm & Natural cotton batting cut with pinking scissors.  The next layer is a piece of corrugated packaging cut and torn to size.  Next is a piece from my scrap box that was left from THIS tutorial.  I cut the scrap to the size I wanted and even though it had paste, design and color on it already I ran it through an embossing folder (Elizabeth Craft Design 105 curvy leaves) and then used my finger to add a metallic rub (Treasure Gold) to help bring out the design.  I also rubbed some around the canvas edges.  I love that hint of metallic!!  These layers were attached to the canvas as shown.

I tore a strip of muslin, colored it with Distress Inks, wrapped it around the canvas and tied a double bow.  Over this I've glued a die cut flower (Elizabeth Craft Designs 964 Victorian Flower Set 1 and 965 Victorian Flower Overlay Set 1).  The flowers were cut from soft finish cardstock, color added with Distress Inks, and a brad to hold them together.  I had a left over leaf spray (Elizabeth Craft Designs 1034 Flourishes & Branches) already cut from manila cardstock.  I inked it with Distress Inks, cut it up, and glued on the pieces.  Finally I added a trinket pin, a mini paper clip, and a small heart embellishment.  The heart was colored with a drop of slate alcohol ink.

Hello Crafty Friends!  Kathy Jo here sharing a project using a stamp from one of my favorite Quietfire Stamp sets, If you don't believe in miracles:

This set has been used on many of my crafty projects and will continue to do so.  Usually I use lighter or pastel colors with the stamps from this set but this time I was in an inky finger vintage mood. 

I like the colors popping out from behind the Sizzix Thinlits Mixed Media die cut corner (Peeled Paint, Tumbled Glass, Scattered Straw, Vintage Photo).  The colors are a nice contrast to the colors on the Spellbinders Postage die set (Abandoned Coral, Scattered Straw, Vintage Photo).  The seam binding was dyed using Distress Stains in all of the colors except Vintage Photo.  Yes, Stickles was added to all of the fussy cut butterflies.  Hellllooooo glitter!

Isn't it the sweetest sentiment?   It is so uplifting and true.  Definitely puts a beautiful pespective to a day!

Distress Stains - aged mahogany, weathered wood, antiqued bronze

Dylusions stencil Dotted Flowers 5x8

White Paint

Distress Ink - mustard seed

Archival Ink - jet black

Embossing powder - clear

Lace scraps and Metal Butterfly

Directions --

1) Put all three stains onto craft sheet, spray with water, pull tag through color and dry dabbing off excess stain as you go.

2) Sponge paint through stencil as shown and dry.

3) Edge tag with bronze stain and dry.

4) Ink over stenciled areas with mustard seed, dab with damp cloth to take some of the ink off the paint, but not all, and dry.

5) Stamp quote with jet black and emboss with clear powder.

6) Add lace and butterfly. 

Below is another picture on green paper just to help with showing the color.

Believe and LOVE

Hello, Diana here to share a couple of cards with you. After Terre's gorgeous black and white card last week, I've been inspired to create some of my own.  My first card is an in-laid/shaker card.  I used Spellbinder's Marvelous Circles and Standard Cicles to frame my sentiment from the If You Don't Believe in Miracles set.  I stamped it in black pigment ink and then clear embossed.  

For the shaker element, I die-cut the largest Marvelous Circle die out of both silver and white card stock.  I then adhered the open white with the silver inlaid inside on clear acetate.  To pop up the top layer, I used fun foam around the circle and also the inside circle.  It would a waste of a lot of beads not to cover up the center of foam since it wouldn't show!  Finally I added a double red bow for a bigger splash of red.

My second card is also black and white with a pop of red.  I had just gotten the new LOVE Fill 'er Up stamp sets in the mail so I had to play.  And this card is mostly that... just playing.  :)

I stamped the letters and embossed them.   Then I just doodled with my black ultra fine Sharpie marker different patterns.

If You Don't Believe in Miracles Holiday Card!

Good morning!  Sherry here today and I have a Christmas card to share using Quietfire’s set, If You Don’t Believe in Miracles.  The card measures 4-1/4 x 7” and has minimal layers . . . which with a piece of extra card stock on top, could be mailed easily.

The top half of the background for the card was embossed and then double lines were scored beneath the embossing and again at the bottom.

Believe, stamped with VersaMark and embossed with Queen’s Gold Embossing Powder, was die cut/embossed with ovals.

The ornament (Spellbinders S5-223 Heirloom Reflections) was die/cut embossed.  Glitter was applied to the center piece of the ornament using a Quickie Glue Pen.  Both the sentiment and ornament were raised with foam mounting squares.

Autumn Miracles Woven Spine Card

Yogi here today with a woven spine detail that I love... and is available on my website in a jpg image and SCUT3 (Sure Cuts a Lot) file.

If you don't have an electronic cutter or can't use the files, try using the American Traditional "Wide Arrow" template, moving the template to get the length you need. The weave is narrower but just as pretty.

I eCut the woven spine, masked with post it notes, colored with Distress (Seedless Preserves & Dusty Concord) direct to paper, removed masks and placed them on the other side coloring with (Scattered Straw & Wild Honey), scored and folded (5"w x 7"h). see diagrams at bottom of post.

Cut a separate piece of white cardstock and embossed with Sheena Douglas "Ivy Frame" inking the negative side of the folder with the Straw and hitting here and there with the Honey, misting with water then embossing.  Trimmed and adhered to purple cardstock then on to my card front.

Adhered two pieces of narrow purple ribbon (one gauze and one narrow silk).

Stamped the word "miracles" cut from the "If You Don't Believe" stamp (or you could mask off the unwanted areas and use a stamp positioner), inked with Versafine Black Onyx, clear embossed.

Stamped the Wine quote with Distress "Dusty Concord and clear embossed.

Stamped the grape flourish with the purple, clear embossed, touched with a Quickie glue pen and sprinkled with Glitter Ritz micro fine glitter "Purple" & "Chartreuse"

eCut the word "Autumn" from white cardstock and while on the mat inked with Versafine "Toffee, removed from mat and embossed with Stampendous opaque "Honey" embossing powder.

eCut a shadow layer and colored with the purples, then adhered the yellow layer, then on to the card.

Inside:  Stamped the bottom part of the "If You Don't Believe" quote using the Concord and clear embossing, added the word "too" with a black fine tipped pen.

Inked the birthday with "Picked Raspberry" and hitting here and there with Preserves, misted lightly with water and stamped.

Cut apart the floral flourish and placed them on my acrylic block spread apart to the size I wanted, inked with the Raspberry and Preserves and stamped. Repeated for the bottom flourishes. Used a Sakura metallic pink gel pen to add faux stitching joining the flourishes.
