Anyone can change everything....

Hi and happy Monday to all of you!  I have a really pretty card that i created to share with all of you from our newest release of the Quietfire Rubber stamps.   This one i really love because it gives such a positive message and would be perfect to send someone who needs a little lifting up or even a family member who just needs some positive inspiration in their life.

I used soft pale pink for my backround of my card and cut the swirled die from Becca Feeken in white to add a beautiful feminine feel to the card.  I stamped the image in black for contrast and added subtle pink and white flowers with a green ribbon for accents.  Then i finished it off with some tiny adhesive pearls and a smaller die cut at the top to add more interest to it.

You can see all the new stamps HERE<<<<<

Enjoy your day and have fun doing something creative today!!

Believe in You card

I hope that you all had an amazing Christmas Holiday yesterday!!  I love this time of year and hopes of starting a new year with even more special things planned always keeps me in good spirits and i can't wait to start 2018. Can you believe it's almost a New Year?

So-- with all of that in mind--- i thought i would create a card that i could send to a special friend for always being there for me.  I think everyone has them and receiving a special card would be really nice even for me.  I created my card using one of the new Cling Rubber stamps called  "The best thing- Believe in you" and i wanted to keep it simple so i used a pretty hemstitch oval die by Becca Feeken to stamp my sentiment in black and that way it would stand out great with the Kaisercraft papers that i used.

And behind the oval die is another of Becca Feeken's dies called "Braided Grace Square".  I made two of them one in each of the papers and alternated the pattern to create a pretty back round under my gorgeous sentiment.  And i just finished it with a pretty ivory bow and a sparkling star.  It's simple yet really elegant... just how i like it.  And i hope you do too!

Thank you so much for stopping over and best wishes for a wonderful new year!!    Teresa

Snowflakes and Christmas Wishes

Hi Everyone and Happy Thanksgiving if you are in the US with us today and stopping by.... Today i have lots of cards to share with you to get you all inspired for all those holiday cards you will be sending out soon!  My first card up above is from the brand new release from Quietfire Design called May your Heart be warm and since my inspiration came from the ribbons i had in my stash i went with non traditional colors and did a pretty card in pinks and greens.  The dies are from Becca Feeken's newest die release too and i think they give the stamp a very special charm.  Not to mention the saying is beautiful too!!

The little spray is on the bottom of the stamp and i thought i would use some pink liquid pearls to accentuate them and match with the ribbons... it's really pretty i think and i know exactly who i am going to send this one to.

And this card i made with the new "Way with Words Christmas collection stamps" from Quietfire.  This set has lots of adorable and sweet sentiments that you can use for years to come... Love the snowflakes.

I went ahead and posted the set so that you can see all of them together and what a great set it is.

My next card i went with Santa themed plaid papers and created this cute card to send to a friend to make her laugh.  I even stamped in a bright Santa red ink and a pretty bow to match in red.

The die for this is from Becca Feekens newest release called Hemstitch Ovals.  It's one of my favorites and fits all the stamps perfectly....

Thanks so much for stopping over today and be sure and stop over to the Quietfire store and see all the other Christmas stamps to do your cards this year!!

Friendship mini book

Hi Friends and welcome to the Quietfire blog today.  I have a pretty little mini card book to share that i did using a fun piece of watercolor paper that i had in my stash.

Sometimes you just want to tuck in a little something with your gift with a wonderful message to tell the receiver how much you care about them--- so i had this idea to create a little mini card using a book die i had from Becca Feeken.  I used a piece of watercolor paper and the die to cut this design on the outside and layered another piece under the top layer to make the colors pop.

Then i cut the inside in the yellow part of the paper that you see below.  The stamp that i picked is called "Friendship isn't a big thing".  It was the perfect size and the perfect sentiment to fit inside my mini book.  And then all i had to do was decorate the outside with a pretty flower and some twine.  It's perfect and it went together so quick.

Here is the stamp and the link just in case you need to order one!!

Be sure and check all the new things in the store, it's pretty amazing!

Have a wonderful and crafty day...

Your friendship means so much

I think one of my most favorite stamps to have on hand and to make up is a card for a friend. Quietfire Design has so many gorgeous ones and sometimes it's really hard to pick a favorite but todays card is really special.

I love this stamp because it has the most gorgeous swirls and curls and really does the sentiment justice.  I chose a soft palette of aqua and pale ivory cardstock to make my card and layered it using a Becca Feeken die that i had in my stash.  To add a little more depth i inked the die with a little bit of aqua ink to make parts in the designs pop more and slightly offset it when i glued it together to frame it.  This gave it a gentle framing around the center and didn't make the ivory so bright.  It just blends more.

And here is a quick closeup of the sentiment... isn't it gorgeous!  And here is the stamp in case you need to place a quick order!

Supply List:

Aqua and ivory cardstock
Cascading Grace Die by Becca Feeken
Ivory seam tape ribbon
Studio G ink in dark aqua
Paper trimmer, scissors, adhesives

Have a really fun and creative week and see you back soon!!

Believe in yourself

The excitement of the holidays is so contagious and it's so much fun to start in with projects for all of them early.  This month it's a good time to give cards to those we are thankful for in our lives and it doesn't have to be anything special but just send something hearfelt you created to show you care.

My card today is made with the "Believe in yourself" stamp from the "If you don't believe in Miracles" set of 3.  I have a friend who is trying for an internship and i thought this would
be the perfect card to give her with a fun snowflake kind of feel since snow is arriving everywhere
already.  I used lots of white cardstock and Spellbinders dies and a embossing folder to create
the base for the card.  And the flowers are from Becca Feekens newest realease called Cinch and Go
Flowers.  They were super easy to make and you could even dip them in color around the edges
if you wanted to add something to it.

The stamp is done with black versafine ink and silver embossing powder and i love the way it
stands out and has a pretty shine to it.  It's really a gorgeous stamp and so are the others in the set.

And that's it from me today and i hope that i inspired you to get out some of your stash and
have fun and create something gorgeous to send to one of your friends too.
Happy Monday to all of you.... Teresa

Hug Book Page: I Dwell in Possibility

Hi there!  It's Suzanne today here to share a Hug Book Page with you.  What's a Hug Book?  Click here to learn more!

I decided to continue on with Teresa's theme of a graduation book.  She did such a beautiful job on the book, it inspired me to work outside my usual colour range!  I went with my theory that simplicity is elegant.

Not only did I continue with Teresa's colour palette (except I added gold), I used the same Becca Feeken design  die set.  By offsetting the design elements to the bottom, it will break any repetition in centered page design and wake the reader up!

Supplies:
I Dwell in Possiblility
Tsukineko/Imagine Crafts VersaFine Onyx Black
4x6" Gray cardstock
Spellbinders Becca Feeken Design Arched Elegance
Die cutting machine
Gold paper or foil would work
Stamp Positioner
Hug Book

Instructions:
  1. Cut 4x6" gray cardstock
  2. Die cut the cardstock by aligning the die 1/4" from the bottom and approximately 3/4" from the opening edge of the book.  The center of the page will actually be shifted because part of the page is embedded in the binding.
  3. Use a stamp positioner to stamp the sentiment.
  4. Cut a piece of lightweight gold paper or foil to 4x6".  You can adhere this to the back of the gray cardstock, or it can become a new blank page behind your gray page.  It's that easy!
Thanks for stopping in and having a look!
Happy creating! Suzanne

A Graduation Hug Book

It's Suzanne here, but really it's Teresa!  I asked Teresa to decorate the front of a Hug Book - she chose the black cover, thinking it would work for a wedding, too.

You've already seen this cover when we told you all about Hug Books in our last blog post but here are some details.

Teresa plans to fill this book with inspirational saying for someone who is graduating.

Supplies: (links are to the Quietfire site)
A Journey of a Thousand Miles
Black 4x6" Hug Book
Spellbinders (Becca Feeken Design) Arched Elegance
Spellbinders Oval, Lacey Oval
Authentique papers
Black ink, embossing powder, Black Foam Squares
Black ribbon and clear Gem

Isn't this absolutely beautiful?!  Watch this blog for Hug Book sample pages created by the Design Team over the next few weeks!
Thanks for dropping in!  Give Teresa a round of applause for this beauty!
Happy creating!

The Hug Book

What is a Hug Book?  It's a book you receive from someone that seems to give you a little hug every time you open it!

Hug Book cover created by Teresa Horner.

I saw these blank books at CHA and was immediately drawn to the potential in them!  They're so easy to use! And what you put in them?  The sky is the limit.  And no bookbinding skills needed!
Click here to see the Hug Book on the website!
We have them in two colours, black and tan (sounds like a few dachshunds we've parented....) and the page size is 4x6" landscape.  The cover is a wonderful smooth bookcloth.  There is nothing cheap-plasticy looking about them!  Not only can the pages contain "hugs", the book hugs the pages!  To load the book, you merely fold the covers back (it works like a big paper clip, in a way), insert your collection of artwork and return the covers to their normal position.

Here are some detail pictures. Just click on them to see larger photos of the Hug Book that's waiting for your love!

They're perfect for your coffee table or mantle - or fit in most purses!  So if you decide to make a Grandma's Brag Book, you've got it right there to share with your friends.

These books were really designed to hold photographs, but we see them holding pages filled with beautiful words of wisdom and encouragement. If you're a designer, you might use this as a mini portfolio. Use them as a wedding book, a baby book, an encouragement book, a cook book or as Teresa has used it - a graduation book.

You could send someone a Hug Book with a decorated colver and then send them pages to insert in their Hug Book on special occasions.

Over the next few weeks, the Quietfire Design Team will be creating sample pages to jump start your creativity as you make your own Hug Book.

Here are some tips for making your Hug Book!
  • Choose light weight cardstock.  You want to be able to separate the pages! If you do use heavy cardstock, it will help if you score your page along the "fold".  If you're able, make sure the grain of the paper runs parallel to the spine.  That will help the pages bend over the previous page.
  • Don't add to much dimension to your page.  I adore a book that yawns at the fore edge, but if you want the recipient to take it with them, try not to add too many items to the pages that are thick.  You especially don't want things to rip off the cover!
  • Cut your pages 6" wide by 4" tall. Leave 1/4" undecorated along the left edge of the page because that will be where all the pages are hugged together.
We hope you like our Hug Books!
Create without Limits!
