Hello everyone,
Yvonne here sharing a card made with the Quietfire Design stampset "Always be my Friend" (a set of 3 stamps).

For the background I used glittered chipboard swirls which were glued upon patterned paper.
Embllsh simple using some self-adhsive rhinestones and of course the stamped (hand-cut using scissors) banner.

Friends

A faithful friend is definitely a treasure!   This is Selma Stevenson today.   I love this beautiful sentiment combined with the A Way With Words - Friends die cut.  I have designed a 6 inch card.  A piece of design paper was cut 5 1/2 inches square and attached to a white card.  

Use the A Way With Words Friends die to die cut one yellow 'Friends'.

Use the Always Be My Friend stamp set and stamp 'Those who find a faithful friend have found a treasure' onto white card stock using black VersaFine Ink.  Die cut the stamped sentiment using a Dotted Scallop die. 

Use rectangle dies to create a frame.  I used the Stitched Rectangles,  Dotted Scallop Rectangles and Postage Stamp Rectangle die sets.  Attach the stamped sentiment square on the right side of this rectangle frame.

I wanted to duplicate the flowers, in the design paper, to go beside the sentiment.  I used Susan's Garden Notes Poppy die set, Garden Notes Lilac die set for the blue flowers ,and  Joset Designs Behive die set for the yellow flowers.  The leaves were die cut using the ModaScrape Leafy Branch 2 and Leafy Branch 6 die sets.  These dies are from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

The envelope was created using Becca Feeken's (Amazing Paper Grace) Card, Envelope and Liner Spellbinders die set.  All paper is from Graphic 45's Artisan Style collection.

This would be a great set to give to a friend as just a little note to tell them how much you appreciate their friendship.

The inside note card has pretty butterfly on one side...

...and a sweet note on the other.  A thoughtful and happy note for a dear friend.

Always Be My Friend

Hello Friends!  This month the designers are celebrating Friendship.  This is Selma today and I designed a card using the Always Be My Friend stamp set.

The Always Be My Friend stamp set is one I am sure you will love to have in your  'Friend' stamp collection.  

For my card I used a 6-inch card and layered a piece of white card stock on front that is 5 1/2 inches square.  I used a score board to score around the edges to give it a finished appearance

A light blue card stock was die cut using the Dotted Scalloped Square die set, then a piece of design paper was die cut using one of the dies in the Fitted Frame die set.  A corner rounder was used to round off the corners.  These two pieces were attached to the front of the card.

A dimensional frame was die cut using Dotted Scalloped Square die set to die cut the small blue frame and a slightly smaller die from the Stitched Frame die set was die cut using white card stock.  Using the same small Stitched Frame die, two fun foam squares were die cut and attached to the back of the small blue and white frame, to give it dimension.  

The Always Be My Friend sentiment was stamped in the center of the small white frame, using VersaFine Black Ink then was clear embossed. 

The design paper used has some small blue flowers in the design.  I used the Garden Notes Hydrangea die set to die cut a bunch of small blue flowers.  They were shaped with the Flower Tool Kit and one yellow Prill was added to the center.  The little leaves were die cut using the Leafy Branch 2 die set.  Individual leaves were cut off and tucked under the flowers.  They were attached to the card as shown.

Hello Crafty Friends!  Kathy Jo here sharing a friend card using a gorgeous stamp from Quietfire Design's Always be my friend stamp set:

The sentiment was stamped on white card stock using Jet Black Archival Ink.  After drying it was die cut using Spellbinders' Labels 50 Decorative Elements.  Gold card stock was die cut using the largest die in the same set.  Peeled Paint Distress Ink was tapped onto a silicone craft sheet.  A water brush was used with the ink to color the leaves on the innermost die.  

Peeled Paint Distress Ink was applied to the inside of Spellbinders' Imperial M-Bossabilities folder and spritzed lightly with water.  (Ink was applied more heavily to the bottom section of the folder to create an ombre effect.)  Watercolor paper was spritzed lightly on one side and embossed using the inked Imperial folder.  Gold card was cut to 4.25" x 5.5" and adhered to a white tent fold 4.25" x 5.5" card.  The embossed watercolor paper was mounted to the card base as were the die cuts.  

For the finishing touch, a triple seam binding bow was added with a wee green twine bow.

Always be my friend

Hello!  It's been a while since I played with my color bursts - and they are just as fun and easy as ever!  I used half a sheet of watercolor paper and Alizarin Crimson so that I would have plenty for this card.  

I then die-cut out two sets of roses from Elizabeth Craft Designs Roses and A Way With Words "Friends" out of the color burst sheet. I also cut the Friends out of black card stock for a shadow effect and the outline of the roses was done in white card stock.

I thought this sentiment from the "Always be my friend" went perfectly with the word die so I stamped in in Versafine black ink in the lower right hand corner.

Hi Everyone and thanks for stopping by today on the Quietfire blog to see what is new.  Today i am sharing a card with a set that i have used before because i needed a sweet card to send to a friend that i haven't see for awhile.

I went over to Micheals last week and they had lots of these lazer cutouts in a big display so i bought some for later and one of them ended up being the perfect size for this sentiment. The stamp set is called "Always be my friend" and has 3 wonderful sentiments on it to use.

For the papers i used a new line called Chickaniddy.  I think the colors were great in that it gave it a real country feel to go with the wood lazer cut.  And i just kept it simple stamping on a circle of the paper and embossing it with clear.  And then i layered the papers under it and popped up one layer to give it more dimension to go with the thicker piece of wood. 

I just inked the lazer cut with some brown ink but you could paint it, spray it or emboss it with anything to make it fun and unique for your card.  

And then to finish my card i just added some little country looking flowers and a twine bow at the bottom with a quick dry adhesive. Simple and perfect for my friend.

My love is my best friend and this stamp says it so perfectly!
The stamp is one of a set of 3 stamps called "Always be my firend".

Materials used::

• cardstock: white, patterned, gold
• Archival ink: Jet Black
• Distress ink pad : Brushed Corderoy, ink blending tool
• Acrylic stamp block
• mulberry flowers, leaves
• Scrapbook Adhesives: 3D foam squares
• paper distresser

The card is all about simple layering using foam squares for an extra 3D effect.

For the aged edges of the layers a distress tool +  brown distress ink + ink blending tool wa used.

Good Friends are priceless...

Having good friends is priceless gift to all of us so having a nice card on hand to send could really mean alot when it's needed.  Today i am sharing a fall color inspired card made with the "Always be my Friend" stamp set #5615.  I used pretty papers from Basic Grey and lots of leaves for fall.

I loved this paper because the colors looked so good with my image that i 

stamped in navy.  The set is called "Persimmon" and all the neat little dies are from 

Spellbinders.  The ribbon i had in my stash from Really Reasonable Ribbon.com.  

I loved the natural look of how it all went together...

Always My Friend - Butterfly Heart Card

Yogi here today using one of Suzanne's newest eCut files "Butterfly Heart Card". I did remove the square format and instead spliced a couple hearts together... The finished card measures 5"h x 7"w.

I eCut the filigree heart (5.5"w) from 110# white cardstock, then cut a blackout layer. Cut some aqua toned mulberry paper the approx size of the heart shape and glued to the inside front piece. Cut some blue satin ribbon and applied Sookwang tape, then adhered the two hearts together - the ribbon acting as the hinge.

eCut a 3" circle. Sponged Distress "Salty Ocean" around the edges. Stamped the quote ("Always Be My Friend" 3pce set) using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Adhered circle to inside of heart front, making it level to the bottom edge of the card front to stabilize the card.

Stamped the flowers (Penny Black "Blooming Garden" set) using the black, clear embossed then painted using Winsor & Newton watercolor markers on a piece of plastic and picked up the color with a damp paint brush. When dry, fussy cut around it and adhered to front of card edge, again positioning it to stabilize the card.
The butterfly is part of the eCut file. Applied Versafine "Toffee" all over and embossed with "Rustique Tin Can" twice. Quilled a bunch of small coils from narrow 1/16"w quill strips and inserted them into the openings of the wing design, applying glue to the backside. Adhered to card front.On the inside: Stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment ("Happy Family Days" 5pce set) using the black and clear embossed.

Punched out a smaller 2" circle, sponged with the Salty Ocean and adhered to inside. I had also eCut a smaller butterfly, sponged with a dirty pink sponge, applied Quickie Glue and applied eCraft Designs "Warm Diamonds" micro fine glitter on the wings and Glitter Ritz "Java Bean" on the body. adhered to circle.

Stamped the other sentiment ("Twirl & Enjoy" 3pce set) using the black.

Color Burst Flowers - Hello - Those Who Find - BD Wishes

Yogi Here today using Color Burst powders by Ken Oliver that I recently acquired - very nice. They work as well as the Brusho's, but are easier to use since they already come in a nozzle type dispenser... There are only 6 colors at this time, so it's pretty hard to make a mistake with them. I like that Brusho's have 24 colors... So between the two products, I have lots to play with...


I'm using the newest "Hello" die on the outside; a quote stamp (Always Be My Friend... 3pce set) and sentiment stamp  (10 tiny tag sentiments 10pce set) on the inside from Quietfire Design as well as an eCut (Happy Birthday) from Suzanne available on the Silhouette onLine store.

Side folded my white cardstock (5"w x 7"h). Embossed using Ecstasy crafts "Leaves" embossing folder.

I sprinkled the ColorCraft powders onto misted Canson Biggie watercolor paper (smoother - backside), then misted some more. Dried and stamped the flowers (AlteNew ""Floral Motifs") using Versafine Toffee" and embossing with Queen's Gold embossing powder. Fussy cut around the flowers to create the border.

Used a slot punch to thread my salmon colored narrow ribbon through.

Adhered the border to the card front, adhering the ribbon tails to the inside.

Die cut the "Hello" from a scrap section of the background. Then cut 3 more layers, coloring them with a blue Prisma colored marker, as well as the edges of the first die cut. Adhered all 4 layers together and then onto card front.

Added the large mauve rhinestones to the flower centers.

On the inside: hit the high points of the embossed background using Distress "Iced Spruce" and then with "Peeled Paint". Adhered a piece of scrap paper towel (from my Gelli print session at Artsy market...) using a glue stick.

eCut the "birthday" at 5"w from white cardstock. Colored with a black watercolor marker, then applied Versamark and embossed with "Oak Leak Olive" embossing powder - twice - to get a nice thick coat.

Masked and stamped the "wishes" (10 tiny tag sentiments ) onto white cardstock with the black, punched it out with Whale of a Punch "Butterfly", sponged using dirty sponges (raspberry & yellow), adhered to birthday word.

eCut a bunch of flowers (AlteNew Floral Motifs") from translucent vellum, stamped with versamark and embossed with Queen's Gold. Adhered to card with Glossy Accents. (if you don't have an electronic cutter, just fussy cut around the stamping...)

Stamped the quote (Always Be My Friend... 3pce set) with the Black, clear embossed. Added faux stitch lines using a Prisma Colored Marker in an olive tone.

Heirloom Roses - Those Who Find - HB

Yogi here today using a couple of my newest acquisitions that I absoultely love... I have to say that the Hybrid Heirloom Roses (Die-Namics) is the BEST rose die I've come across... It's a 3 piece die set. The center cluster is one of those coil type that just shapes so beautifully without having to adjust or force it to shape. It's beautiful just on it's own too. But when paired with the other two layers - I'm loving it.

The other die I'm in love with is another Sue Wilson (Creative Expression) die from the Gemini series "Lyra". It makes such a gorgeous edge - sigh!!



OK enough drooling and on to the card...
I used a bunch of birthday sentiments (Happy Birthday Plain & Simple" 7pce set) for the front and a quote ("Always Be My Friend" 3 pce set) on the inside by Quietfire Design

 I die cut my edge from white 110# cardstock, then scored, folded and trimmed it down.

Masked of the die cut edge, stamped the birthday sentiments using Versamark and clear embossed. Repeated till the front was filled. Sponged Distress "Mustard Seed" heavily all over. Removed the mask and wiped off the embossed words with a damp paper towel.

Adhered some olive green satin ribbon. Stamped the "Happy Birthday" with Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Trimmed down and adhered to ribbon.

Created the roses from 65# Staples brand white cardstock. Sponged with "Picked Raspberry" using a streaking motion rather than evenly filling the die cut shapes. Then streaked with the mustard seed. Repeated the process on the backs. Rolled up my coil, allowed it to loosen and glued it to it's backing, set aside to dry. Used a large balled stylus and a foam mat to shape the petal pieces on both sides, glued the little tabs and then glued the flower parts together.

The smaller flowers:
Note: For those of  you that have the capabilities of scanning and uploading images to an electronic cutter. I then cut the shapes at two smaller sizes than the die cut.

PS if you don't have this choice, just use a couple of the die cuts - eliminating the larger petal layer and or adding a 2nd small layer or just using the center bud - so you get a variation of sizes.

Colored some 110# cardstock with the mustard seed and die cut the rose leaves (Memory Box "Sonora Rose"). Held the leaf down on my craft mat using the flat edge of the point of my x-acto knife and direct to paper with "Peeled Paint" ink pad.

Stamp Pad Note: since the Distress pads don't go edge to edge in the container, fingers get in the way when inking small pieces, so using the tip of something narrow or fine to hold down the leaf, allows the pad to skim right to the edge.

Then added a few pink rhinestone flourishes.

On the inside: embossed the right edge using Crafts Too "Blossom" embossing folder. Skimmed "Spun Sugar" over the high points.

I made a little booboo when I stamped the quote... So had to cut a separate piece of white cardstock  using the die cut edger die to cover it up BIG GRIN -. Trimmed it down and adhered.

Stamped the quote with the black onyx and clear embossed.

Stamped the birds on branches (Local King Rubber "Asian Essence") using Distress markers to color the stamp, misting with water and stamping. masked off part of the design to stamp the 2nd stamp.

Bottom bird (Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn; Flower: Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry; Leaves: Mowed Lawn, Forest Moss; here and there some black.

Upper bird: (Salty Ocean, Picked Raspberry; Flower: Festive Berry; Leaves: same as above and the black)
