Gelatos Border - The True Harvest

Yogi here today using Gelatos - love them... One of the reasons for the color choice was because a friend asked my how to use them and all she had were pink & blue sets... no yellow to make green and no greens. I said no problem BIG GRIN.

Side folded my aqua blue card (5"w x 7"h).

The embossing folder is from Ecstasy Crafts "Garden Spray". I used the Gelatos on the raised portions of the folder, misted with water, placed my 110# white cardstock onto the unpainted side, then closed the folder and ran through my machine. Misted the folder again and ran a 2nd piece of cardstock through, that's what I used for this card. I love 2nd generation results.

Trimmed it down, sponged a bit of a dirty blue around the edges and then a touch of dirty pink, then adhered it to my card front leaving a 1/8" border all around.

Stamped the quote (The True Harvest) using juicy Distress mini pads in "Picked Raspberry" all over and hitting here and there with "Salty Ocean".

Final touch added the glittered butterfly from a previous eCut project of a butterfly circle by Suzanne which can be found on the Silhouette on line store and the previous project here.

Beautiful Yogi! I am a fan of 2nd generation results too. I haven't used gelatos- they seem rich with colour. Great card!

I have a few gelatos and haven't used them. THIS is the inspiration I needed. Love this technique. Thanks!

That's very pretty Yogi, even if it 'IS' pink and blue lol I have to figure out how to color the proper side of an embossing folder in order to have the resulting RAISED parts, inked...I'm not great at that as I just got a machine, so it is a bit mind boggling to me as yet. :) I love your creativity and think you have a lot to give in the way of teaching others :) Thanks for taking the time to show us EXACTLY how to get the job done! :) <3 Mickey Drake
