The Real Voyage of Discovery Wall Hanging

Hey Quietfire Fans! Spring has arrived and with the thought of Spring on my mind, I created this pretty The Real Voyage of Discovery Wall Hanging which features a variety of Quietfire Design Stamps and A Way With Words dies. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite spring time beverage as you learn how to recreate my wall hanging at home.

To start, die cut a 4" Stitched Fishtails out of white cardstock. Die cut a 3 1/4" Stitched Circle out of the same piece of white cardstock. On a gel plate, put Coral, Blush and Spanish Mulberry Acrylic paint on the plate, use the brayer to combine the paint colours together. Press a stencil in randomly on the plate. Place the stitched fishtail facedown on the gel plate and press it into the plate. On the same gel plate, put Coral, Blush and Spanish Mulberry Acrylic paint on to the plate and use the brayer to combine the paint colours, press the stitched circle into the plate. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Crackle Background stamp and randomly stamp the background onto the stitched fishtail and stitched circle. Reapply the ink as needed to the stamp. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Grid Background stamp and randomly stamp the background onto the stitched fishtail and stitched circle. Reapply the ink as needed to the stamp. Distress the edges of the stitched fishtail and stitched circle. Ink the edges of the stitched fishtail and stitched circle using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Apply Emboss It Ink to the "real voyage of discovery" stamp and stamp onto the middle of the stitched circle. Sprinkle Glacier White Embossing Powder over the stamped sentiment. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Die cut the leaf wreath twice, from the Rosebud Wreath & Elements die, out of white cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Peeled Paint Distress Oxide Ink over the entire surface of the wreaths. Spritz the wreath with water.

From the Rosebud Wreath & Elements, die cut the three tulips twice out of white cardstock, the single tulips four times out of white cardstock, six tulip overlays out of white cardstock and two heart flourishes out of white cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink on the four tulips and two three tulips. Spritz the tulips with water.

Die cut the 4 1/2" Stitched Fishtails out of white cardstock. Distress the edges of the stitched fishtails. Ink the edges of the stitched fishtails using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Adhere the 4" Stitched Fishtail to the 4 1/2" Stitched Fishtail. Adhere the Stitched Circle to the middle of the 4" Stitched Fishtail.

Adhere the first leaf wreath around the edge of the Stitched Circle. Adhere the other leaf wreath overtop of the first leaf wreath, but making sure that the leaves don't over lap.

Adhere an overlay tulip over top of two of the single tulips. Adhere one of the overlay tulips over top of the middle tulip on the set of three tulips. In the bottom right hand side of the leaf wreath, adhere one heart flourish. Foam square the three tulip bunch slightly overtop of the heart flourish. Adhere a single tulip with an overlay to the left of the tulip bunch and adhere another single tulip with an overlay to the right of the tulip bunch.
