Kindness is Like Snow

Hey Quietfire Fans! It's hard to believe that Christmas will be here in not time at all, so today, I figured I would get started on creating a Christmas card. By combining a variety of stamps as well as dies from A Way With Words, they were the perfect for my card. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite Christmas beverage and learn how to recreate my card at home.

To start, you'll need the sentiment from the Kindness is Like Snow Stamp set. Apply Emboss It Ink to the sentiment and stamp onto a piece of black cardstock. Sprinkle Kells Gold Modern Gilding Powder over the sentiment. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Once the powder has cooled, cut the sentiment into four strips.

On a scrap piece of white cardstock, apply a coat of Emboss It Ink to the cardstock. Sprinkle Kells Gold Modern Gilding Powder overtop of the cardstock piece. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Once the powder has cooled, die cut the stars from the Peace on Earth Die twice out of the embossed cardstock. You'll need five of the stars.

Apply Emboss It Ink to the Snowflake from the Kindness is Like Snow stamp set and stamp onto a piece of black cardstock. Sprinkle Copper Scroll Modern Gilding Powder over the stamped snowflake. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Fussy cut the snowflake out. Adhere seven silver foil pearls at the points on the snowflake.

Die cut the Ornament from the Love, Joy & Peace Christmas Ornament out of black cardstock. Cut the loop at the top of the ornament off.

Die cut a 2 1/4" Stitched Circle out of black cardstock.

Cut a piece of black cardstock that measures 3 1/2" x 4 1/2". Apply Emboss It Ink to the Crackle Background stamp and stamp onto the piece of black cardstock. Sprinkle Copper Scroll Modern Gilding Powder overtop of the stamped background. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Adhere the ornament to the stitched circle. Foam square the ornament to the middle right hand side of the crackle background piece. The flourish portion of the ornament will hang over the right hand edge of the background cardstock piece. Foam square the snowflake to the middle of the stitched circle.

Use thin foam squares to adhere the five stars as desired around the ornament as desired.

Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the sentiment strips to the bottom right hand side of the ornament as desired. Cut a cardbase out of white cardstock that measures 3 1/2" x 9", score at 4 1/2". Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Here are a few closeup photos of the finished card.

Trick or Treat Tag

Hey Quietfire Fans! Halloween is only 21 days away and I'm excited to be back on the blog as I've created this spooky Trick or Treat Tag. By combining a variety of stamps as well as dies from A Way With Words, they were the perfect for my tag. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite fall beverage and learn how to recreate my tag at home.

To start, you'll need the Something Wicked stamp set. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Trick or Treat sentiment and stamp onto a piece of white cardstock. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the tree and stamp onto the same piece of white cardstock. Reapply ink to the tree and stamp again on the same piece of white cardstock. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Bat stamp and stamp onto the same piece of white cardstock. You'll need to repeat the previous step three more times. Fussy cut the trees, sentiment and seven trees out. Ink the edges of the trees, sentiment and seven trees using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Next, you'll need a #8 Distress Tag. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Carved Pumpkin, Twisted Citron and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink. Spritz the tag with water. Dry the tag with a heat tool.

Apply Emboss It Ink to the Leafy Acanthus Background stamp and stamp on the right hand side of the tag. Sprinkle Gothic Black Modern Gilding Powder overtop of the stamped image. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Apply Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink to the Crackle Background stamp and stamp randomly on the tag. Reapply ink to the stamp as needed. Apply Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink to the Crackle Background stamp and stamp randomly on the tag. Dry the tag.

The tag was missing something, so I applied Emboss It Ink to the Leafy Acanthus Background and stamp randomly on the edges of the tag. Sprinkle Gothic Black Modern Gilding Powder over top of the stamped image. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Die cut a 2 1/2" Stitched Oval out of White Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Carved Pumpkin and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink over the entire surface of the oval. Spritz the oval with water. Dry the oval with a heat tool. Apply Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink to the Crackle Background stamp and stamp randomly on the oval. Reapply ink to the stamp as needed. Apply Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink to the Crackle Background stamp and stamp randomly on the oval. Dry the oval.

Die cut the Flourished Oval Frame out of white cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the frame and sprinkle Gothic Black Modern Gilding Powder. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Distress the edges of the tag and oval. Ink the edges of the tag and oval using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Adhere the Flourished Frame to the oval. Use foam squares to adhere the oval to the middle of the tag.

Adhere one tree to the top right side of the oval. Adhere the other tree to the bottom left side of the oval. Foam square the Trick or Treat sentiment to the middle of the tag.

Adhere the seven bats as desired onto the tag. To finish the tag, tie a piece of black twine to the top of the tag.

Here are a few closeup photos of the finished tag.

Butterfly Flourish - Flourished Night Sky (Flowers) - The Earth Laughs - Just For You

Yogi here today and I've been meaning to do something with this little flower from Suzanne and finally got around to it... BIG GRIN

I'm using a couple dies "Flowers" 3pce set, "Butterfly Flourish" 3pce set and "Flourished Night Sky (Flower)" 4pce set from Elizabeth Craft Designs, also available on Quietfire Design HERE, HERE and HERE

And I'm using a rubber stamp sentiment, quote and design element stamps from Quietfire Design ("Just For You"  4pce set); ("The Earth Laughs..." 2pce set); ("Crackle Background")

I'm using a clear stamp sentiment from Quietfire Design ("Love & Hearts Collection") also available on Elizabeth Craft Designs HERE

Cut, scored and folded my white cardstock to create the side fold structure. Adhered a piece of Olive toned paper edge to edge.

Dry embossed the ivy frame (Gemini "Ivy Frame") on white cardstock and hit direct to paper with Distress "Antique Linen" and then with "Bundled Sage", Trimmed down and adhered to front.
Created the vase from a basic oval die cut cutting away about a 1/4" from the bottom and an 1" from the top. Stamped with the crackle stamp inking with Versafine and clear embossing then sponging with Distress "Tumbled Glass" and a touch of "Faded Jeans" for shading. Adhered to card front.

Die cut  a whole pile of the little flowers and leaves from a bunch of scraps laying around including some alcohol backgrounds. Adhered them to front and then added a mini nail art rhinestone to each center with Gem-Tac adhesive.

Stamped the sentiments with Versafine Clair "Rain Forest".

Die cut the "Flowers" word from white cardstock, inked with the green and clear embossed. Adhered to card front.

Die cut the small butterfly from a scrap piece of alcohol background and adhered to card.

On the inside: Die cut the flourish butterfly and colored with Tombow markers. Adhered to inside. Adhered mini rhinestones to the body.

Adhered a bunch of leftover flowers from the front adding the mini rhinestone centers.

Stamped the quote using Versafine Clair "Verdant" and here and there with "Rain Forest" and clear embossed.
