Autumn - The Thankful Receiver

Hello!!!  It's Wanda here today to share an Autumn card.  I am ready for some cooler (not cold) weather but it's suppose to be in the 90s here in Southern Iowa today.  By Wednesday it's just the 70s.  70s will be nice but it won't stay and it'll be 80s the rest of the week.

My background is created on translucent Yupo paper.  I used some bright alcohol inks in fallish colors.  Next I used wadded up plastic wrap to "stamp" Alcohol Lift-Ink.  As I lifted the alcohol ink I then stamped it onto regular white cardstock.  Once I was done stamping I blotted the lift-ink off the yupo and then buffed the paper.

Next I flipped the yupo paper over and stamped the music image from the Crows Set multiple times with Archival Ink Jet Black until the paper was filled.

I gently dried the black ink with a heat tool being sure not to get the yupo too hot.  You can see how the music comes through in this picture.

I stamped the harvest quote from the A Bit of Fragrance Collection on my stamped off paper and then die cut it with a Stitched Rectangle.  I also die cut my yupo with a larger Stitched Rectangle.

The yupo paper was attached to white cardsock.  I stamped one image from the Where Flowers Bloom Collection on the center-bottom of the yupo paper.  I wrapped the quote panel with twine, tied a bow, and attached the panel to the yupo panel with thick foam mounting tape.

You might notice that this card is not the card I showed at the top.  It was my original card and then after taking pictures I decided I should also use the Autumn die.  Everything was attached together so I created a panel by tearing around the main area using a metal ruler.  This would have been a very nice card also.

I die cut the word Autumn from white cardstock, inked it with Distress Ink Barn Door and Festive Berries, coated it with Embossing Ink and embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder.

I hope you've enjoyed today's card/cards.  Have a wonderful week!!!

Hugs, Wanda

Summer Smiles Scrapbook Layout with Butterfly Kaleidoscope Stencil

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a summery scrapbook layout featuring two Quietfire Design Way with Words dies and the Butterfly Kaleidoscope stencil.

This was a quick and easy layout - I followed (more or less) the July sketch from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine's sketchy gallery.  It's a great sketch to scrapbook six photos.

For the background paper, I sponged two colours of Colorbox Chalk Ink through the butterfly stencil onto a piece of white cardstock.  I love the chalk ink pads, they are nice and juicy and have such lovely colours and a soft finish.  Just use a sponge applicator and dab on as much colour as you are in the mood for.

Add the title - Summer (from the 4 Seasons Way with Words dies) and Sweet (from Sweet Smiles).  Then, it's just a matter of embellishing.  I added some stitching (machine and hand) and some small  circles die cut from an Elizabeth Craft Design shimmer sheet.  Quick and easy but bright and pretty!

Hello Summer

Good Morning.  This is Selma today with a bright, sunny Summer card for you.  It is easy to cheer someone up with a beautiful card by using the A Way With Words die cuts.  Today I have used Suzanne's Hello and 4-Seasons die sets.

A Way With Words, Hello

4 Seasons

In order to create a colorful card, I used Susan's Garden Coreopsis dies to create the flowers.  The butterfly was die cut using white card stock and colored with PanPastels.

The white frame was created by using one of the Dottted Scallop Rectangle dies, and two Fitted Frames 3 - Curvy Rectangles die cuts.  A piece of white card stock was die cut using the Fitted Squares die set and embossed with the Dancing Leaves Embossing Folder.  This rectangles was glued to the back of the Fitted Frames then all rectangles glued together.

Two Corners, using the Corners 1 die set, were die cut and glued to the top of the card.  A white Chain was die cut using  the Chains 1 die set, cut in half and glued to each side.  All the dies used can be purchased from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

The Hello die cut was glued to the top of the white frame and the Summer die cut glued below the flowers.
