Wanderlust Art Journal Page

Hey Quietfire Fans! For today's project, I'm sharing with you my Wanderlust Art Journal Page. By combining a variety of stamps, dies and the Modern Gilding Powders, they were all perfect for creating my page. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my cart journal page at home.

To start, apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Wanderlust stamp. Stamp the word onto a piece of white cardstock. Fussy cut the word out. Ink the edges of the word using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Large Dragonfly stamp from the Butterflies, Dragonflies stamp set. Stamp the large dragonfly onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Reapply ink to the stamp and stamp onto the same piece of cardstock. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Small Dragonfly stamp from the Butterflies, Dragonflies stamp set. Stamp the small dragonfly onto the same piece of watercolour cardstock. Reapply ink to the stamp and stamp onto the same piece of cardstock. Colour the dragonflies in using Scribble Sticks 1 & 2 as well as a waterbrush. Dry the dragonflies. Fussy cut all the dragonflies out. Ink the edges of the dragonflies using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam. Colour the wings of the dragonflies using the Wink of Stella - Clear Glitter pen.

Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Large Butterfly stamp from the Butterflies, Dragonflies stamp set. Stamp the large butterfly onto the same piece of watercolour. Reapply ink to the stamp and stamp onto the same piece of cardstock. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Small Butterfly stamp from the Butterflies, Dragonflies stamp set. Stamp the small butterfly onto the same piece of watercolour cardstock. Reapply ink to the stamp and stamp onto the same piece of cardstock. Colour the butterflies in using Scribble Sticks 1 & 2 as well as a waterbrush. Dry the butterflies. Fussy cut all the butterflies out. Ink the edges of the butterflies using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam. Add highlights to the wings of the butterflies using a white gel pen.

Die cut the Flourished Oval Frame out of white cardstock.

Die cut a 3" Stitched Circle out of white cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the Look for the Dream stamp and stamp in the middle of the circle. Sprinkle Gothic Black Modern Gilding Powder overtop of the quote. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Using the Stabilo Woody pencils in Lime Green, Yellow and Turquoise as well as paint brush with water to colour the background of the circle. Let the circle dry and then rub Twisted Citron Distress Crayon along the edges of the circle.

Choose a couple of pages in your art journal and then choose a book and rip some pages out of it. Adhere the book pages to the left hand side of the page and then the right hand side of the page using Distress Collage Medium - Matte and a paint brush. Apply a coat of Distress Collage Medium - Matte overtop of the book pages on the pages. Allow to dry.

Apply two coats of White Gesso to both pages. While the gesso is still wet, use a baby wipe to wipe areas clean of the gesso on the pages as desired. Allow to dry.

On the right hand page, use Stabilo Woody pencils in Lime Green, Yellow and Turquoise to create a circle. To create the watercolour effect, take a paint brush and water and move the colour to give it a watercolour effect. Add more colour to the circle as desired and repeat the previous step. Continue adding colour around the pages and using a paint brush and water to give the colour patches a watercolour effect.

Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Grid Background and randomly stamp on the right hand page eighteen times. Reapply ink to the stamp as needed. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Grid Background and randomly stamp on the left hand page thirteen times. Reapply ink to the stamp as needed.

Rub a Twisted Citron Distress Crayon along the edges of the pages.

On the right hand page, foam square the quote circle 3/4" from the bottom right inside side of the watercolour circle. Foam square a large and small dragonfly to the bottom right side of the watercolour circle. Foam square the large dragonfly to the top left side of the watercolour circle.

On the left hand page, adhere the Flourished Oval Frame 3/4" from the bottom and 1" from the left of the left page. Foam square one of the large butterflies 1/2" from the bottom of the inside of the Flourished Oval Frame. Foam square one of the small butterfly to the top left corner of the frame. Foam square the other large butterfly 1/2" from the right of the small butterfly. Foam square the other small butterfly 1" from the top left corner of the large butterfly. Adhere the wanderlust word to the right of the large butterfly that's inside of the frame.

"If you don't believe in miracles" Butterflies card

Hello Crafty Friends!

Are you looking for an inspirational card for someone special?  Quietfire Design has the most beautiful and inspirational stamps to choose from!  Today's card has a heart warming stamp as the focal point, If you don't believe in miracles from the same named stamp set:

If You Don't Believe in Miracles - Set of 3 Stamps
The butterfly background was created using the sweet butterflies from the Butterflies/Dragonflies stamp set:
Butterflies/Dragonflies set of 7 stamps
The background used both butterflies.  The butterflies were randomly stamped using two different shades of pink.  On a separate sheet of card stock I stamped another butterfly and fussy cut it out.  It was used on top of the gorgeous stamped quote.
The stamp sets look so lovely together!  If you are not a fan of pink then try it out in different colors.  Imagine how pretty it would be in a cobalt blue...hmm...I think I need to try that next!

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Have a happy, crafty day.
Big Hugs,
Kathy Jo

You are my Sunshine...

Hello everyone,
Yvonne here with a Spring card using two Quietfire Design stamp sets:
"Butterflies/Dragonflies"
and
"Always be my Friend".

The card is all about stamping...both sentiment and background.

First stamp lots of butterflies onto white cardstock using green and grey inkpads and then trim the cardstock to the size you like.
Then use some brown and grey distress ink and an ink blending tool to alter the edges of the cardstock.
Glue the stamped background cardstock onto kraft cardstock (using 3D foam Squares) and then upon a white cardbase.

Stamp the  sentiment upon white cardstock using a black inkpad and cut a banner.
Mat the banner upon kraft cardtsock.
Glue the banner to the cardbase using 3D foam Squares.

Glue two flowers to the card and finally add some glitterglue to the butterfly wings.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Wishing you a wonderful and crafty day.

Hugs from Holland,
Yvonne
