Sassy Shaped "Sit by Me" card

Happy Friday!  Kathy Jo here to share a sassy shaped card using Quietfire's Sit by Me stamp.  The stamp is great to use for making cards for your girlfriends.  I wanted to make this card girly and sassy to capture those moments with our friends when we are just talking and having a grand time.

The card front is layered as follows from the bottom up: Spellbinders Reflective Moment in black, pink card stock cut to size, Spellbinders Tranquil Moments in felt leopard, Spellbinders Floral Flourishes in faux black leather paper and the smallest die from Spellbinders Tranquil Moments.
The beginning of the quote "If you can't say something good about someone" fits perfectly on the Tranquil Moments die.  Black pearls were adhered on either end.  The frilly rosette is a strand of feather ribbon formed into a circle and glued.  A ribbon rose was adhered on top and a pearl pin was stuck through the assembly.
The card is a tent fold but the back of the card is black card stock cut to 10 3/8 x 3 1/4 and folded at 4 7/8.

The inside is more of the leopard paper...
...and Tranquil Moments in pink. "Sit Right Here By Me" was stamped and die cut using the same Tranquil Moments die and then cut as shown.
So, what do you think?  Is this card full of sass or what?  It was so enjoyable to make!
The stamp used is part of the Garden Bench Collection stamp set which contains all of these beautiful stamps:

Hope you enjoyed the card! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Come Sit By Me on the Garden Bench!

Good morning!  Sherry here today and I have a 5.5 square card to share with you.  When I first got the idea for this card, I was actually thinking about one of my favorite movies . . . Steel Magnolias . . . and all the great one-liners.  One of my favorites is, of course, “if you can’t say anything nice, come sit by me.”  Quietfire has a similar quote in the Garden Bench Collection, “If you can’t say something good about someone, Sit right here by me.”   I also remembered that I had in my Spellbinders’ stash the Shapeabilities Garden Bench.

I’m sure the first thing you’ll notice is that I did not use the entire quote for the card.  I went with the shorter version, Come Sit by Me, thinking to myself that if I did it this way, I could use the inside of the card for a personal note . . . whether it be funny or lending a shoulder to lean on.

I used the Prima Something Blue collection for the card and a cream card stock for the card base and sentiment.  The garden bench was die cut/embossed using a darker piece of the paper collection, and mounted on a coordinating lighter piece of paper.  The same dark paper was used for the Elegant Ovals base.

The sentiment was stamped on cream card stock in Archival Potting Soil, then die cut/embossed with the label die from Spellbinders A2 Divine Eloquence.   The ribbon was some I had previously dyed that was in my stash jar.  I loved the way it picked up the colors in the flowers and stripes in the paper and decided it was perfect for the card.

That’s all for me today!  Thanks for stopping by and joining me.

GARDEN BENCH - GINGKO LEAVES - CARD

Hi Everyone! Holly here, and I have a card using a new stamp, and washi tape.
A little ink, and a little cutting, and a stamp to top it off.

Along the left edge of my white card base, I masked narrow strips and sponged DISTRESS INK.

I tore strips of WASHI TAPE and angled and overlapped them, leaving ends hanging off the edge of the card. Once I was sure of the positioning of the washi tape strips, I trimmed the ends even with the card edge. I stamped REMEMBERING YOU from the GARDEN BENCH STAMP SET, with Jet Black ARCHIVAL INK to the lower right side of the card.

Using the same DISTRESS INK as for the masked stripes, I stamped GINGKO LEAVES onto white card stock.

I cut the leaves out, gave them a slight curl by pulling them along my pinched finger and thumb,  brushed them with water to blur the ink a little, and soften the look. Then, I attached these leaves to an adhesive circle. More DISTRESS INK was sponged on the outer edges, and a button was adhered to the center.

The gingko 'flower' was then attached to complete the card.

I hope you enjoyed the making of this card, and decide to try it too.
Thank you for looking, and have a creative day!

Garden Bench Collection - Judi Kauffman Guest Designer

Meet our newest stamps, the Garden Bench Collection. This set was inspired by the Karen Burniston Garden Bench die from Elizabeth Craft Designs which brought back memories of my grandparents' garden bench overlooking Lake Erie.  The collection of sentiments evolved from a brainstorming session with designer Judi Kauffman, so it's very appropriate she had the first opportunity to play with them!

Garden Bench Collection - set of 4 stamps

Guest Designer Judi Kauffman created a versatile, elegant card featuring 5 Quietfire Design stamps, the Karen Burniston Garden Bench, All Seasons Tree and Agatha Edges dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs, plus simple embellishments (a crocheted flower or pearl flower button with shank removed).

Customize the card by switching the stamped sentiment and the placement of it, the color palette, and/or embellishments, or by adding leaves to the trees.

Patterned papers = BoBunny

Of course, if you give a designer some stamps, they will use them! Judi continued on with our other new stamps!

And add a little bling....

Many thanks to Judi for sharing her talents with us! Now show us what you can do with our new stamps!
Thanks for visiting today.

Throw Up Thursday! NEW STAMPS!!

Okay, it's Suzanne today and I've been dying to call this Throw Up Thursday, so I did.  It's different than Throwback Thursday because we have some awesome new things to share with you!

We have new rubber stamps!

It's take a long time, but Quietfire is growing up.  Starting now, most of our stamps will have the option of Cling and Foam mounting.  Did I hear a collective WoooHooo?! Yes, it's true.  No more double-sided tape and cutting stamps out.

Some of these designs have been in the works for some time and have endured the growing pains and delays of awesome newness. Some are hot off the drafting table in time for Mother's Day (unfortunately we don't have the mounted option for those yet).

Rather than release these in dribs and drabs and make you pay shipping charges every time a new set is released, we're throwing six, yes 6, new sets up on the site.  Our Design Team is simply itching to get their fingers on them, so keep watch for a creative explosion over the next few weeks! (Robyn is stalking her mailman.)

Here are our Mother's Day sets.  Whether you're a kidlet or a parent, both sets are useful far beyond Mother's Day.  (Need a stamp that says Happy Mother's Day?  Click here!)

Keep Calm & Call Mom - set of 3

and the other new set available with the Cling and Foam Mounting option....

Garden Bench Collection - Set of 4  - was inspired by my grandparents garden bench overlooking Lake Erie and evolved from a brainstorming session with designer Judi Kauffman.

Happy Birthday Plain & Simple -Set of 7

Thanks - Fill 'er Up T   For those who like to doodle, but not too much!  Fill up this T with tangles, doodles, stamp images, paint....  The possibilities are endless!

If You Don't Believe in Miracles - Set of 3
Thanks for stopping in today!  We hope you like our new stamps - and our new mounted option!
Happy creating! Suzanne
