Friends, Be With Those Who Help Your Being ~ Rumi

Hello! Kim here with another share on the Quietfire Creation’s blog. My second now since the COVID-19 pandemic entered our world! Now is the perfect time to scrapbook layouts of happier times when physical distancing was not part of our norm.

I printed this photo from New Year’s Eve first. It didn’t take long to ‘audition’ a few stamps and dies from my Quietfire Design collection to find which ones worked best for the story I wanted to tell.

I cut the ‘Friends’ title using the Elizabeth Craft Designs steel cutting die, designed by Suzanne Cannon. I embossed with Kells Gold Gilding Powder twice, which gave it beautiful, dimensional shine, a fun touch for my New Year photo.

I stamped the Rumi quote “Be with those who help your being” using Distress Oxide ink on a small piece of cardstock. This stamp is sold unmounted. Do NOT let this scare you away, I just add temporary adhesive to the back and stick it on my stamping platform [or acrylic block], easy-peasy! It is the perfect quote for this fun group of friends who always make me smile!

The layout uses papers and embellishments from Pink Fresh, from a monthly kit I received from Scrap Shotz. The colours are fun and vibrant, like my friends!

Don't forget to pull out your Quietfire Design stamps and dies when scrapbooking, they just might be the PERFECT embellishment!

Fairies and Flowers

Hi and it's so nice for you to drop by and see what is new on the Quietfire blog today.  It's Teresa here today with a share for all of you looking forward to spring coming in the weeks ahead.  I found some brand new paper called Cherry Blossoms from Prima and i thought it was a perfect match to go with the stamp i had called "A Rustle in the Wind".  This is a set of 4 stamps, 2 are sentiments and both are just adorable.  

To make my card i created a simple layered backround and then added a few beautiful die cuts in white to frame the sentiment.  Then i added some beautiful flowers from Prima and just a few pearls to make it sparkle a little more.  

I also did a card a while back with the bottom sentiment so i thought i would attach it below so that you can have 2 ideas for this set.  Its fun to add extra glitter to this one with stickles or even use some of that superfine glitter you have stashed away for something special.  

Christmas is the day card

I adore the Christmas holidays not only for all the pretty decorations and lights that are everywhere but also because it's a special time to give handmade gifts to all our family and friends.  Today i made a special card for a friend who always sends out beautiful cards each year and i am lucky enough to be one of those that gets one.

Most of my things are inspired by all the goodies that i have in my stash so this one started with some white cardstock, some glittery red cardstock and this beautiful stamp called "Christmas is the day".

Since i used mostly white i stamped my image in red ink and used a glittery red embossing powder to match it.  I put it in the center and then cut a pretty die cut to surround it and then added that beautiful poinsettia and some roses to the bottom to make a pretty flower cluster.

My favorite part about this sentiment is all the pretty swirls around it.  And of course the pretty calligraphy that Suzanne always does when she creates each and every one of the beautiful and unique stamps that she designs.

Give Thanks ...

Good morning to all of you and thanks so much for stopping over today.  It's been a really nice week of weather here in California and the leaves are changing and dropping from the trees so it's a good time to do all those Thankful cards and projects that you have been wanting to do.

My stamp that i used for this little mini banner i made is called "Give Thanks" and 

actually has 2 stamps in the set.  Both are beautiful sentiments and can be used lots of ways.

I stamped mine on a piece of printed ivory paper but I think i should have embossed it with dark brown to make it pop more but i still like the vintage ways that it all came out.  

And the pumpkin i made with oval dies and then used some leaf dies to do the rest.

It was a really fun project to make and doing things like this with your stamps is a good

way to decorate for the holidays and fun little things for your kids to make too.

New Dies, New Stamps!

It's Suzanne here today and it's bumper crop week here at Quietfire Design!

 

 

The BIG, exciting news is that we have new dies!!  You may have seen Connie sneaking a peak of one of the new dies on Saturday on National Scrapbooking Day, but now we're over the moon happy to be sharing them all.

 

We have six new dies; two singles and one set. Over the next few weeks, you'll be seeing lots of artwork from the Design Team.  In fact, next week will be wall-to-wall creations using the new dies.  They're so new that most of the Quietfire Design Team doesn't even have them yet!

 

Here they are!  You are able to pre-order on the Quietfire site, but dies will not be shipped until after May 25, 2016.  Elizabeth Craft Designs has a whole new exciting release of dies. Check them out on their blog this morning.

We are never so lost card...

Hi everyone, it's Teresa here today to share a card i made with one of my favorite

stamps called " We are never so lost"... I wanted to do something angelic with mine

so i chose a simple silver and white combination for it.

I found a piece of really pretty silver matted cardstock that wasn't so shiny and it

really worked well for the Majestic labels 25 die set that i used.  It picked up the details

in the dies perfectly so it really set off my beautiful stamped verse that i picked.

Here is a close up of the verse.  I stamped it with silver and embossed it with silver

to make it really shiny and magical.  Then i tied a pretty white bow in white and added

a simple rhinestone on the top to finish it.  It was super easy and fast too.

Walnut Hollow & Quietfire Design - Shabby Chic Card Box

Quietfire stamps on the beautiful Walnut Hollow wood products. 

It's Teresa here and today I am sharing a beautiful wooden card box from
Walnut Hollow that i filled with lots of pretty ATC cards that are
stamped with my favorite Quietfire Design stamps to give for a gift.
You can see the cardbox style here and it's perfect to use for lots of other fun
things too.  You could even decorate it just to put your favorite playing cards
in that you use for fun family and friend events or a neat jewelry box!

I am a shabby chic kind of girl so i decided to create a card box to fill with lots of ATC cards.
  First i sanded the box and then cut out pieces of chipboard with the Spellbinders dies you see
 on the top and on the front.  I glued them on and then painted thin layers of white paint over
the top and let it all dry really good.  (I also painted the inside of the box white to match).

Meanwhile i cut/embossed lots of flowers and greenery from Spellbinders
and created a pretty flower spray to decorate the top with.  The pretty
jewels are from Jolee's boutique but you can use anything to pretty it up
that you may have in your stash like lots of extra ribbons and pearls.

And then to fill my box-- i made 12 of these little cards to match.  I cut
out white paper and folded it and then used an ATC die to make the pink
and white layers on the top.  The beautiful stamps are from the
Always be my Friend set and the Twirl and Enjoy set.

This was such a fun project to do and i love how all the stamps
fit so perfectly on the little cards.  Below is a supply list just in
case you would like to make this project.

scissors and lots of 3D Foam dots and glue dots to put it together.
