Quietfire and Walnut Hollow Blog Hop - Harvest Blessings!
Good morning! Sherry here and it’s my turn to welcome you to the Walnut Hollow & Quietfire Design 2014 Blog Hop! We’re pleased you’re joining us and know you’ll find lots of creative inspiration for combining Quietfire stamps and/or digital cutting files with the beautiful Walnut Hollow wood products.
For my project, I chose to work with the Walnut Hollow Tabletop Sign (Item No. 40187)
and Quietfire Design Silhouette Digital Cutting File Harvest Blessings.
To begin, the Tabletop Sign was painted white, antiqued with different shades of browns and then sanded. I love the distressed look achieved using my palm sander!
The Silhouette Cameo and vinyl were used to make a stencil of the sentiment, Harvest Blessings.
The stencil was cut in two parts, covered with contact paper and then applied in stages to the sign.
Using the same tan/brown paints used for the antiquing, the sentiment was painted onto the sign. Blessings was painted first, allowed to dry and Harvest was painted last.
While the paint was still wet, the vinyl was removed.
To finish the sign, I dug through my fall decoration boxes and found some loose flowers and pumpkins to glue to the sign.
Both sides of the sign were completed, so that it could sit on my dining room table as a centerpiece for the holidays.
Now for the grand prize!
To be eligible for our grand prize, your work is simple: Please leave a comment on each of our blog posts, nine here on the Quietfire Creations blog and five on the Walnut Hollow blog hop posts. So that will be 14 comments in total on two different blogs from September 29, 2014 to October 3, 2014! The winner must be a resident of North America.

The beautiful calligraphy is wonderful when you cut it with the Silhouette. I suppose you get the lettering and a stencil to use too, right? How fun!

Beautiful piece! Love all the detail especially the use of the lettering. Awesome!
Your lovely sign showcases the beautiful lettering and the directions are very clear too.
Your piece would look awesome in the center of the Thanksgiving dinner table! :)
Beautiful fall centerpiece!
Sherry this is just beautiful! Would make a nice addition to any fall table! :)
Wow Sherry...this is SO beautiful!
Your instructions are very helpful. I would not have known how to download the signs and process the steps without your help! Your sign looks wonderful, Sherry.
I hope I'll be making the same kind of lovely plaque! Thank you!
Such a lovely fall plaque!
Your project is stunning and really quite simple. My youth group can do one! Just beautiful.
Wow, what a great idea... I am thinking of making one for my friend who is moving into her new "Home Sweet Home".
Very nice!!
I love this tabletop sign and the creative way you used the stencil with it! So lovely!!!
Great Thanksgiving sign. Love the stacked bounty and the stenciled "blessings."
Gorgeous harvest sign, loved the way the text was applied!
I like that you combined a simple yet elegant wording with the representations of some of those blessings. The narrow design allows it to be put many places.
Sherry, your sign is stunning! I love the way you dressed it up!
Lovely :)
This is very nicely done, Sherry. I would never get the lettering to be straight! It's such a simple looking piece, but so lovely, it will look amazing on your Thanksgiving Day table :)

First time I have seen the vinyl templates made and used. Follower from Tamworth
This technique is new to me. I'll bet your Thanksgiving table will be beautiful!

I love the vinyl templates and what a great idea to complete both sides. It is just the perfect centerpiece for the fall table reminding one of the rich bounty they have received and it is low enough to leave on the table, allowing folks to easily talk with each other.
Pretty love the colors
This is Beautiful! Great job Sherry!
What a great project, beautiful colors.
