 Here is my project!

I’ve been dying to put the Feathers stencil to work.  I think this idea came to me in the shower.  That’s where some of my best ideas happen!  Too much information?

This project combines a Quietfire Stamp, an A Way With Words die and an A Way With Stencils with the die and the feather complimenting the words in the sentiment.  I’ve never confirmed the author of this quote, although you usually see it attributed to Edward Teller although I now believe it’s not his.
Supplies:
Quietfire stamp WhenYou Get to the End
A Way With Words Faith
A Way With Stencils Feathers
Imagine Crafts VersaMagic Purple Hydrangea

Ranger Distress Oxides: Cracked Pistachio, Broken China, Wilted Violet
Ranger Specialty Stamping Paper
Core’dinations Cardstock: Montego Bay, Valiant Violet
RangerInk Mini Blending Tool and Refills
3M Removable Tape
MISTI stamp positioner
Glue Dots Micro
Tombow MonoAdhesive Dots Dispenser Permanent

Scrapbook Adhesives CraftyFoam Tape

Instructions:

1.      Form a side-fold card base from Montego measuring 5.25 x 9”.  Die cut Faith from purple cardstock.

2.      Cut a piece of Specialty Stamping Paper approximately 4.5 x 7.5”.  This will be trimmed later.  Sponge and blend Oxide Inks over the surface.

3.      Place the feather down portion of the stencil near the top of the coloured panel and tape in place with removable tape.  Use a pencil to mark the registration dots at each corner of the down.  Sponge Pistachio ink through the stencil.  Be patience, it’s an intricate stencil!  Tap in some Broken China here and there.

4.      Remove the stencil and move it down so the top registration holes line up with the lower dots on the cardstock and repeat the sponging, using more Broken China for this set.

5.      Stamp the sentiment in the middle of the panel with VersaMagic ink.

6.      Position the larger feather above the quote as shown and tape down with removable tape.  Make sure you cover the smaller feather and any down you think you might accidentally sponge into!  Sponge Wilted Violet over the feather, then with the stencil still in position, lightly spritz the area with water to give it a little interest. Carefully remove the stencil and clean it. Allow everything to dry.

7.      Replace the stencil, taping it down as before and protecting the rest of the surface.  Stamp the sentiment through the stencil.  It’s perfect if you can’t read it, but rather gives the impression of a message that's just out of reach!

8.      Trim the decorate panel to 4.25 x7.25” and cut a mat about 1/16” larger from white cardstock and another from purple cardstock which is about 1/8” larger.  Adhere layers alternating Mono Adhesive Dots and Crafty Foam Tape.

Thanks for having a look!  Make sure you leave a comment below to be eligible for a prize.
Enjoy the blog hop and good luck!  See you back here on the blog tomorrow when Yogi and Yvonne (it's Y Day!) will share their A Way With Stencils creations.
Happy Creating, Suzanne

The idea for the Sony Walkman can to the inventor in the shower, so you are not alone! Lovely card!

My work partner used to laugh when we were in the midst of a major project - my best ideas came to me at 4 AM in the shower!!! And what a beautiful concept this card is - no matter where we receive the gift of inspiration - it is the work that has to be done. I love the soft colors and the feathers drifting down. This sentiment is one of my favorites! God is faithful! Thank you Suzanne.

Wonderful card, Suzanne. I like the words captured in the feather as a teaser to the quote below. One of my favourite of your sentiment stamps. Aren't the oxide inks fun?

Hello Suzanne,
Your card is so serene and thoughtful. I love birds so anything feathery is my thing. Did you know that water brings out the psychic ability of each of us. Thank you for sharing your ideas. Hugs, Sara

I love your watercolored background! But I have to admit your stencil really added just a bit more that took it over the top of anyone else's watercoloring! Should I order this stencil now or wait until I see all of them used so I only have to pay postage once!
