Cottage Days - ECD Summer - Thoughts of You

Yogi here today with a summer memories card...

I'm using an electronic file Cottage Days  from Quietfire Design on the front which you can find in the Silhouette onLine store.

And I'm using one of the newest die sets from Elizabeth Craft Designs which will be available soon. "4 Seasons" - loving this set. Also available on Quietfire Design HERE

And of course a card wouldn't be complete without at least some Quietfire Design stamps "Remember That The Earth..." 8pce set; "Life Journey Words" 6pce set; and part of "When I Saw This..."

Scored and side folded my cream toned cardstock (5"w x 7"h).

Stamped the fishnet background using Versafine Black Onyx on Bee Paper "Recycled Sketch Paper" (it's brownish kraft type color) and clear embossed. Swiped over it with Distress acrylic daubers "Tumbled Glass" and "Broken China"

Die cut the frame from white cardstock using the 2 largest of the long stitched line dies (Elizabeth Craft Designs "Stitched Rectangles"). Sponged with "Tumbled Glass" and "Broken China", then hit the edges with some "Tea Dye" and "Ground Espresso. Adhered the fishnet background to the frame.

To get the sandy looking border - Applied Sookwang tape around the edges of the card, adhered my fishnet piece, then embossed the border, sprinkling with Distress embossing powders ("Pumice Stone", "Scattered Straw" and "Brushed Corduroy"). Burnished with my finger.

Created some background papers using watercolor paper and Brushos in a multitude of colors... Went a little wild... Then eCut the stamp shapes (if you don't have an electronic cutter, you can fussy cut around your stamped images. I'm lazy though...), stamped with the black and clear embossed the largest starfish and the seahorse. For the smaller starfish, stamped with  Distress pads and embossed with Queen's Gold or clear. Also cut the "Cottage Days" and embossed using Emerald Creek Hot Stuff "Turquoise Shimmer" embossing powder.

Adhered all the elements to my card front.

On the inside: stamped the quote ("Remember That The Earth..." 8pce set) on the left side of the card using the black and clear embossed. (ps I normally don't stamp on the left side, but since there are several layers on my front, the stamping won't show through...)

Die cut the word "Summer" (available on Quietfire Design HERE) from more of the Brusho watercolor paper and adhered to inside.

Stamped the word "Memories" ("Life Journey Words" 6pce set) using the black and clear embossed.

Another of the Designs By Ryn stamps the sea spray bubbles, also cut from the Brusho watercolor paper, stamped with Distress "Mermaid Lagoon" and embossed with Emerald Creek Hot Stuff "Midnight Sky" embossing powder. Adhered to card along with the smallest starfish.

Stamped part of the "When I Saw This..."  stamp, masking off the upper section, using the black and clear embossing.

Hope you enjoy how I made this card.

HOPE- LIFE JOURNEY WORDS- CARD

Hi Everyone! It's Holly here today, with a fairly Clean & Simple card for you.
I began by masking the center panel and stamping along both sides of it. I used a two inch wide strip, and repositionable tape to hold it in place while I stamped.

From the HOME-CONGRATULATIONS stamp set, I cut the foliage away from the house, and used it, with a variety of green DISTRESS INKS. I sponged more ink close against the edge of the mask, then removed the mask from the card.
I drew black lines along the edge of the stamping, then stamped the center panel.

I stamped the barberry bush image from ILLUMINATIONS 1 with Peeled Paint Distress Ink, then over-stamped the image with the small BUTTERFLY, using Jet Black ARCHIVAL INK. With the same ink, I stamped HOPE from the LIFE JOURNEY WORDS stamp set. I added a little bling from my stash and called it done.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

How Old Would You Be, Flourish,Life Journey Words,Happy Birthday, If You Need a Shoulder...

Happy New Year Y'all and I hope it will be a year filled with creativity and Peace for all!

Shout out to Sue B who introduced me to this card structure during the Byhand Artist 12 Days of Christmas swap.

This is a birthday card about 3 weeks late, so I love this sentiment.
Journey on the tag is from the Life Journey Words Set.

The back of the card-left plain for personalization has Happy Birthday from the Happy Family Days Set.
The Flourish is stamped in Versafine Sepia (NYR to use more colors of Versafine!LOL) and Happy Birthday was stamped in Ranger sticky emboss and then Glitter Ritz Frosty Mint (NYR-get more colors of Glitter Ritz!!)

To make the card you start with these pieces
You only need one label- the others were from other cards I'll show at the end of the post.

The base is 11"x3 3/4" and you score at 5 1/2" and 2 1/2"
You need 5 cover papers- scraps are great for this( note to Yogi!)
1-3 1/2 x 5
2-3 1/2 x2 5/8
2-3 1/2 x 2 1/4
all measurements in inches
I cut the tag from a T!m Holtz Sizzix Tag and Bookplate die- you can use any tag and label.

Glue everything together, position your label with some dimentional adhesive-I use fun foam and wet glue.
Folded flat it fits nicely into an envelope if you don't embellish too much.

Above is an ATC version-the base is 3 1/2" x 10" scored at 5" and 2 1/2".

The ATC is held in place by a corner punch- you could just cut slits.

Unfortunately this is a condolence card .
If you need a Shoulder and Memories stamped  Versafine Sepia and thermal embossed clear.

Comments and questions always welcomed!

Thanks for sharing your creative year with Quietfire Design!
