Mr. Perfect Father's Day Card

This could be a great anniversary card, too! (And it certainly should be delivered with tongue firmly planted in cheek!)

I made this card for the Elizabeth Craft Designs Father's Day designer's group post, so if you want to see more designs using their products, head on over to the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog.

I chose a "manly" paper for this card along with coordinating cardstock.  Here's how you can make this card, too!

Supplies:
A Way With Words You Are Perfect  QFD | ECD
A Way With Words Mr Mrs QFD | ECD
A Way With Word Flourished Frame  QFD | ECD
Moda Scrap Manly Man paper collection  ECD
Stitched Rectangles  ECD
Glue Dots
American Crafts Smooth Crimson cardstock
Core'dinations Latte cardstock
Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Squares

Instructions:

  1. Create a 6 x 7" tent-fold card base from Latte cardstock.
  2. Die cut a panel from a larger Stitched Rectangle using patterned paper from the Manly Man paper.
  3. Use two smaller Stitched Rectangle to die cut a Crimson panel and a coordinating patterned paper panel as shown.
  4. Die cut "Mr" from and the Flourish from the Flourished Frame from Crimson.  Cut "perfect" from a small piece from the backside of the Many Man info sheet (it coordinates perfectly with the collection!).
  5. Use Glue dots to adhere the A Way with Word diecuts.  Use 3D Foam Squares to adhere the other panels together and to the card base.  Tuck the red flourish under the edge of the bottom panel as shown.
  6. Give to the Dad!
Now if this is used as an anniversary card, I think it should be from....

Mr & Mrs

In keeping with the Quietfire Creations design team's celebration of one of our own team members, this wedding card was design for Yvonne and Harrie over in the Netherlands.  This is their wedding day and we want to Congratulate them.

There is nothing more beautiful than a calligraphy written sentiment for a wedding card.  Good Morning.  This is Selma today and I have designed a wedding card using Suzanne's new A Way With Words Mr Mrs and Calligraphic Elements 2 die sets.

Mr Mrs - Metal Cutting Dies

Calligraphic Elements 2 - Metal Cutting Dies

Here is how the card was created.  To give dimension to the die cut pieces, three sets were die cut and glued together.  By stacking the die cuts, it really gives them dimension and helps them look even more beautiful.  In the picture below, you can see the height of the die cut sentiment and elements.

This is a 6x6 inch card.  I have used both white and cream colored card stock.  For the frame, Elizabeth Craft Designs Stitched Square, Dotted Scallop Square and Fitted Frames 2 Lace Squares die sets were used. Dimensional tape was used behind the Stitched Square, and Dotted Scallop Square for dimension.

For the flower, Susan's Garden Notes Rose 1 die set was used to create a pretty rose.  Elizabeth Craft Designs Big Triple Leaf die set was used behind the rose and craft store purchased wedding pearl elements tucked in behind the flower.  The small die cut heart is from the Fitted Frames 2 Lace Squares die set.  To finish the card, cream colored flat back pearls were added.

Don't you love that gorgeous die cut sentiment and calligraphic element on the wedding card!

Best Wishes to the happy couple!

Mr. and Mrs. Wedding card

I hope you're enjoying this week's showcase of Quietfire Design's new A Way with Words dies.  I'm sharing the new Mr. and Mrs. dies.  I kept it shiny and simple - it seems to be the trend nowadays.  I die-cut the rose outline from Elizabeth Craft Designs ten times out of shimmer paper to make my background which I then glued on with Tombow Multi Liquid glue.  I picked up some lovely paper that had was shimmery with some opaque lines running through. The silver rings were made with circle dies and the Mr. and Mrs. were also die cut with shimmer paper five times each.  I stacked them on top of each other.

Each of the rectangle layers were matted with soft gray car stock.  The final card is 5 x 7 inches.

"Mr & Mrs" wedding announcement card with photo sleeve

Hello Crafty Friends!  Welcome to Day 1 of a week long celebration of the newly released A Way With Words dies!  This will be a week full of inspiring projects using the new dies.  All the dies were designed by the ever-so-talented Suzanne Cannon.  She always blows me away with her stamps and dies!

Today I am sharing a project using the newly released Mr and Mrs die set…
Mr Mrs - Metal Cutting Dies
…and the ampersand and heart from the Calligraphic Elements 2 set:
Calligraphic Elements 2 - Metal Cutting Dies
Oh- I wish I had these dies after my hubby and I were married as I would have loved to have sent our wedding photo using this card.  We were married nine years ago and photo card I used was so “blah”.  Maybe I should resend all the photos to friends and family?  :)
Instructions:
  1.  Create 6.5” x 5” tent fold card using white card stock.  Cut one piece of card stock to 6.5” x 5” and another piece 7.5” x 5”.  Score and fold the second piece at 6.5”.  Adhere adhesive tape to the 1” folded section and adhere to 6.5” x 5” piece to create the tent fold card.
  2.  Cut black card stock to 6.25” x 4.75”.  Mount to card front.
  3.  Emboss white card stock using embossing folder.
Die cut using largest die from Stitched Rectangles set.  Die cut circle in proper location to ensure best view of photo.  Use thin double sided adhesive along the bottom edge and the two vertical edges to create a photo pocket.  (I used 3mm tape.)
Before adhering to card front, ensure that there is sufficient space for photo.  Adhere to card front.
  4. Die cut Mr, Mrs, heart and ampersand from red glitter card stock.  Adhere to front using liquid glue.  Be careful not to apply glue to area that will overlap the photo…you don’t want the heart to stick to the photo!
  5. After card is dry, slide photo into pocket.
Products used:
  •          Mr/Mrs die set
  •         Heart and Ampersand dies from Calligraphic Elements 2 set
  •          Stitched Rectangles dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs
  •         Circle die

  •         White card stock, black card stock, red glitter card stock
