We are delighted to have designer Nina Brackett as our guest designer this month and I think you can instantly see why! To learn a bit more about Nina, read all the way to the bottom of this blog post.
I am thrilled to be guest designing for
Quietfire Design this month. I love their exquisitely lettered sentiments that come in many sizes. I have a set of three cards to show you today. They all follow the same layout and together make a nice card set to give away as a gift. I do this a lot and the
Quietfire Design sentiment stamps are just the perfect focal point in each card.
For all three, I first stamped the big Penny Black Awakening stamp in aqua, melon and light pink. I then heat embossed with white the lace stamp on the bottom and leaves stamp on the top. Starting from the corners, I then inked Distress inks (
Brushed Corduroy and
Antique Linen) to show the white embossed images. I made sure there's enough room on my panel to stamp my sentiments. I then framed that panel with kraft cardstock before I mounted it with foam squares on card bases with coordinating colors. I embellished them with matching buttons and seam bindings with a small Want2Scrap pearl in the center.
My first card uses QFD's gorgeous
Thinking of You stamp with
Versafine Vintage Sepia ink to make sure it stands out.

Thank you for joining me today and I hope you were inspired to create card sets with
Quietfire Design's stamps.
A little bit about Nina:
Hi, my name is Nina. I'm a Filipino-American who now lives
(and crafts in Croatia), thus my blog is called
Crafting in Croatia.
I was educated as a Biologist, but found my love for art through paper
crafting, which was mainly influenced by my mom. When my husband and I were
getting ready to move to Croatia, a thoughtful friend gave me a big box full of
Stampin' Up supplies. It took one very cold winter and homesickness for me to
start playing with those supplies and I haven't stopped!
I joined the paper crafting industry when I released my first stamp set in
2009. I have worked with several companies as a product designer including
Penny Black Inc, Want2Scrap and Spellbinders. One of the biggest blessings of
my "job" as a paper crafter is being able to share my love for it
with the ladies here, where it's still a novelty. My very creative daughters are
my biggest fans and enjoy playing with mommy in her craft room.
