Walnut Hollow & Quietfire Design - Shabby Chic Card Box

Welcome to the Walnut Hollow & Quietfire 2014 Blog Hop!  We’re pleased you’re
joining us and know you’ll find lots of creative inspiration for combining
Quietfire stamps on the beautiful Walnut Hollow wood products.

It's Teresa here and today I am sharing a beautiful wooden card box from
Walnut Hollow that i filled with lots of pretty ATC cards that are
stamped with my favorite Quietfire Design stamps to give for a gift.
You can see the cardbox style here and it's perfect to use for lots of other fun
things too.  You could even decorate it just to put your favorite playing cards
in that you use for fun family and friend events or a neat jewelry box!

I am a shabby chic kind of girl so i decided to create a card box to fill with lots of ATC cards.
First i sanded the box and then cut out pieces of chipboard with the Spellbinders dies you see
on the top and on the front.  I glued them on and then painted thin layers of white paint over
the top and let it all dry really good.  (I also painted the inside of the box white to match).

Meanwhile i cut/embossed lots of flowers and greenery from Spellbinders
and created a pretty flower spray to decorate the top with.  The pretty
jewels are from Jolee's boutique but you can use anything to pretty it up
that you may have in your stash like lots of extra ribbons and pearls.

And then to fill my box-- i made 12 of these little cards to match.  I cut
out white paper and folded it and then used an ATC die to make the pink
and white layers on the top.  The beautiful stamps are from the
Always be my Friend set and the Twirl and Enjoy set.

This was such a fun project to do and i love how all the stamps
fit so perfectly on the little cards.  Below is a supply list just in
case you would like to make this project.

Supplies: Quietfire Design: Twirl & Enjoy/ Always be my friend
Walnut Hollow: Wooden Cardbox
Spellbinders Dies: Luscious Labels One
and Medallion Seven, Flourish Trim, Blooms one, Blooms Four
and Artist trading cards.  I used pink and white papers, adhesive,
scissors and lots of 3D Foam dots and glue dots to put it together.

New Release, Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme - DIY Note Card and Herb Garden Gift Set

Hello and welcome!
Jutta here and I am delighted to have you join me today for the debut of an
awesome new Quietfire Design Stamp Set - Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme.
This eight piece stamp set is sure to make any gardener smile and
a great way to welcome spring into our crafting!

Now onto my project, well actually several little projects which
when combined make this lovely Herb Garden Gift Set.

This stamp set is the sweetest!                      Tip-I've added some dots with
India ink to help me with line up of stamps.

Note Card Set of 4 Cards and 5 Envelopes and Pretty Folder

Decorated 6" Terracotta Pot
I stamped pot with forest moss distress ink and added a couple of gold stripes
with a marker before sealing all with clear spray paint.

Plant ID Tags and Copper Stakes
For stakes I used reclaimed copper wire shaped with round nosed pliers.
The tags are wooden business cards from my stash which I punched, stamped
with jet black archival ink, colored around edges with peeled paint distress marker
 and added paper cord ties.

Instructions for cards and folder
For cards I cut 2 sheets 8-1/2" x 11" yellow cardstock length wise and
folded in half to make 4 top fold bases.

I then used the 2nd and 3rd largest SB labels 4 dies and my Big Shot to cut white cardstock and patterned paper labels.

I crimped the white cardstock label and adhered it to base.

Keep patterned paper label in die, use as stencil to draw line on label with
peeled paint distress marker. Stamped the four herbs on label with jet black archival ink.
Adhered stamped label to crimped label to complete cards. Tied with ribbon and set aside.

For folder I cut a sheet of 12" x 12" yellow Kraft core cardstock down to 12" x 9". Folded and cut as per photo below.

Next I embossed the front cover using my Big Shot and the Rosa 5" x 7" embossing folder.
I cut 4 pieces 3/4" x 5" and 1 piece 3"x 5" from coordinating patterned papers.
Stamping as shown in photo below with vintage photo and shabby shutters distress ink. Then inked all paper edges with peeled paint distress marker. Adhered all patterned paper pieces to folder and and then folded over bottom flaps and adhered to inside to complete.

Exquisite Card Set by Nina Brackett - Guest Designer

We are delighted to have designer Nina Brackett as our guest designer this month and I think you can instantly see why!  To learn a bit more about Nina, read all the way to the bottom of this blog post.

I am thrilled to be guest designing for Quietfire Design this month. I love their exquisitely lettered sentiments that come in many sizes. I have a set of three cards to show you today. They all follow the same layout and together make a nice card set to give away as a gift. I do this a lot and the Quietfire Design sentiment stamps are just the perfect focal point in each card.

QFD-Card-Set2

For all three, I first stamped the big Penny Black Awakening stamp in aqua, melon and light pink. I then heat embossed with white the lace stamp on the bottom and leaves stamp on the top. Starting from the corners, I then inked Distress inks (Brushed Corduroy and Antique Linen) to show the white embossed images. I made sure there's enough room on my panel to stamp my sentiments. I then framed that panel with kraft cardstock before I mounted it with foam squares on card bases with coordinating colors. I embellished them with matching buttons and seam bindings with a small Want2Scrap pearl in the center. My first card uses QFD's gorgeous Thinking of You stamp with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink to make sure it stands out.

This pink card is stamped with No Act of Kindness stamp. I just love that sentiment.

Finally, this card uses All Our Best Wishes stamp.

Thank you for joining me today and I hope you were inspired to create card sets with Quietfire Design's stamps.

 A little bit about Nina:

Hi, my name is Nina. I'm a Filipino-American who now lives (and crafts in Croatia), thus my blog is called Crafting in Croatia. I was educated as a Biologist, but found my love for art through paper crafting, which was mainly influenced by my mom. When my husband and I were getting ready to move to Croatia, a thoughtful friend gave me a big box full of Stampin' Up supplies. It took one very cold winter and homesickness for me to start playing with those supplies and I haven't stopped!

I joined the paper crafting industry when I released my first stamp set in 2009. I have worked with several companies as a product designer including Penny Black Inc, Want2Scrap and Spellbinders. One of the biggest blessings of my "job" as a paper crafter is being able to share my love for it with the ladies here, where it's still a novelty. My very creative daughters are my biggest fans and enjoy playing with mommy in her craft room.
