"Little One" baby card

Hello Crafty Friends!

Are you loving Suzanne's new stamp and die release?  It has been fun in my crafty room using all of the new product.  The new release has product for your birthday, wedding, and baby projects (to name a few!). The baby collection is darling and the Little Ones dies are too stinking cute.  The wee feet are the focal point of today's baby card.
Little Ones - 7 Metal Cutting Dies
Also used is the lovely Little One stamp from the Welcome Little Ones stamp set.
Welcome Little One Collection - Clear Stamps
Gold card stock and blue card stock were both cut with the Little Ones feet die (I wanted to accentuate the heart created by the feet).
Little One was stamped using coordinating blue ink.  A tag was created and gold applied to the edge.
Isn't it a sweet card?  I told you the Little Ones die set was too stinking cute!  :)

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a happy, crafty day.
Big Hugs,
Kathy Jo

Tea & Thee

Happy Thursday!!!  My card today uses stamps from the new set, Tea & Thee - set of 7, and a die from the new Rosebud Wreath & Elements set.

I began with a piece of Distress Mixed Media Heavy Stock paper (Ranger) cut to 5 1/4" square.  I painted the panel with Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylic Toffee (PaperArtsy), dried it, scraped on a very thin layer of Fresco Finish Crackle Glaze (PaperArtsy), sponged Fresco Finish Nougat (PaperArtsy) over the glaze using a piece of Foam Cut 'n Dry (Ranger), and left it to dry and crackle.  Once dry I spritzed the panel with water, sprinkled on Infusions, Rocky Road & Rusty Car (PaperArtsy), sprayed with more water, dried using my heat tool blotting with a paper towel where I had too much water or wanted to remove some color.  I did think to take a picture at this point.

Using a Stamping Platform (Tim Holtz), I stamped the quote using Archival Ink Potting Soil (Ranger).  I stamped it several times to get a good print over the crackle.  The tea ring and spots were stamped with Distress Ink Espresso (Ranger).  I stamped the images multiple times with an inking to get varying depth of color.  Dried.  I put Espresso ink on my craft sheet, added some water and used a paint brush to splatter the ink across the panel.  I then dipped the edges in the watery ink and dried each edge.

The leafy wreath was cut from green cardstock and inked with Distress Ink Forest Moss at the base of each leaf.  I also shaped each leaf by folding using my fingernail to crease the center while folding.  The tea cup was stamped onto white cardstock with Archival Ink Potting Soil, cut out, inked with Distress Ink and flower rub-ons added.

I had not planned to have a tea ring for the cup to sit on - a happy accident.  I hope you've enjoyed today's card!!!  The new stamps and dies are wonderful!!  Don't wait to get yours :-)

Hugs, Wanda

Coffee and Friends

I am so excited to share that we have brand new stamps with both coffee themes and tea themes.  The sets are so cute and there are so many to pick from i really had a hard time choosing for my card today.  But i decided on the "Coffee and Friends" sentiment from the "But first Coffee set" and i even made a gift bag to give a special ground of coffee in as a gift with my card.  The papers i chose are a new design from BoBunny and it gives it a very sweet and feminine look to the card.

To stamp my sentiment i used a cocoa archival ink to match the wreath tag and then used a kraft colored card to layer all my design to and finish it.  I really, really love this color combo....
and here is the stamp set so you can see all the other amazing choices!

And here is a closeup of my custom coffee bag that i stamped.  I used to work in a store that ground the most delicious specialty coffees and you can ask for these bags from them or get them at your local craft store too. ( I found mine at Hobby Lobby here in the states).

Be sure and check out all the other new stamps on the website!!
You can find the link HERE<<<<<

Enjoy your week and happy stamping to you!!

Destiny Mixed Media Tag

Hey Quietfire Fans! I'm thrilled to be joining the design team and sharing with you my love for mixed media by combining all of the wonderful stamps and dies Quietfire has to offer. Today, I get to share with you my "Destiny" tag which features a variety of Quietfire Stamps and A Way With Words Dies. Grab a cup of your favourite beverage and I hope that you enjoy learning how to recreate my "Destiny" tag at home.

1. Rip out a piece of dictionary paper from a dictionary. Grab a tag and trace the tag around the dictionary paper. Cut the tag out. Use Distress Collage - Matte Medium to adhere the dictionary paper tag to the tag. Paint a coat of White Gesso overtop of the dictionary paper.

2. Place the Faded Dots stencil in the bottom portion of the tag. Using a palette knife, apply texture paste through the stencil. Repeat the previous step, but this time, place the stencil in the top left portion of the tag.

3. Apply one coat of Blush Paint to the tag. Use a baby wipe to apply Vintage Lace and Snowflake paint randomly to the tag. Once the paint has dried, rub Spun Sugar and Walnut Stain Distress Crayon overtop of the stenciled areas.

4. Apply Potting Soil Archival Ink to the Crackle Background Stamp and randomly stamp it on the tag. Clean Stamp. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Crackle Background stamp and randomly stamp it on the tag. Rub Black Soot Distress Crayon along the edges of the tag. To soften the black edges, ink the edges of tag using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

5. Die cut a 2 1/4" Fitted Oval out of white cardstock. Ink the edges of the oval using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

6. Die cut the Flourished Oval Frame out of white cardstock. Apply a coat of Emboss It Ink to the frame. Sprinkle Burnt Copper Leaves Embossing Powder overtop of the frame. Tap off excess powder and emboss with your heat tool.

7. From the Butterfly Flourish die, die cut the small and medium sized butterflies out of white cardstock. Use a blending tool with foam to blend Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Ink overtop of the butterflies. Spritz the butterflies with water. Once the butterflies are dry, ink the edges using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

8. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the "Destiny is not a Matter of Chance" stamp. Stamp onto a piece of white cardstock. Cut the sentiment apart. Use a blending tool with foam to blend Vintage Photo Distress Ink overtop of each of the strips. Ink the edges of the strips using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

9. Adhere the fitted oval to the middle of the tag. Adhere the flourished oval frame overtop of the fitted oval. Foam square the medium sized butterfly in the bottom right corner of the frame. Foam square the small butterfly in the top left corner of the frame. Foam square the sentiment strips to the middle of the frame.

10. To finish off the tag, punch a hole at the top and make a bow out of light pink ribbon.

Here are a couple of close up's of the tag.

Thanks so much for joining me today and taking a look at my project! I hope that I've inspired you to want to recreate my tag at home.

Welcome Card with Die Cut and Glittered Long Roses

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a card featuring two of the new dies just released by Elizabeth Craft Designs and designed by Suzanne Cannon.  Be sure to check out all the new dies at Quietfire Design.  They are just beautiful.

The rose dies are so cute and easy to customize with different colours of paper, ink or glitter.  I covered the base of the flower with glossy accents and sprinkled with Elizabeth Crafts Designs ultra fine glitter to add a sparkly touch.

I made the background by brushing some watercolor ink onto a piece of watercolor paper, and sprinkling with coarse pickling salt to give the splotchy look.

I used another new die to add a sentiment to the bottom of the card.  Wouldn't this be a great card to give to a new neighbour?

Sneak Peek- Happy Birthday and Spray Hearts

Hello Crafty Friends!

One more day of the new release sneak peeks...that's right...tomorrow the new release collection is officially released!  Oh- the new A Way With Words die and stamp release is not only an awesome release but it is huge.  It was difficult to decide which project I wanted to share for the sneak peek as I could not decide which product to share first.  Too much awesomeness!  After much thought, I decided to share this project which used two dies from the collection: Happy Birthday 3 and Hearts (part of the Hearts & Paw Prints die set).

Card instructions:

  1. Use desired Dylusions Sprays (or similar) on mixed media paper.  (You will need a piece of paper large enough to cut the Happy Birthday in step 4 and for the card front background in step 2.)  Dry.
  2. Create top fold 4.25" x 5.5" card base using white card stock.  Mat the mixed media background (from step 1) to card front.
  3. Die cut wood grain patterned paper using heart spray die.  Mat to size and mount to card front.
  4. Die cut Happy Birthday using white card stock and mixed media paper.  Offset mount the die cuts using liquid adhesive.
  5. Create wee red dots in the middle of each heart using Enamel Accents in Carnation Red (or whatever color coordinates with your mixed media background).
  6. Create coordinating flower and adhere using liquid adhesive.
Isn't it a fun birthday card?  The heart spray is so sweet and I adore the "happy birthday".
Don't forget to stop by tomorrow to see the new release and more links to new release projects!

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a happy, crafty day.

Sneak Peek with Gable Box and Hearts/Paws Dies

A Sneak Peek especially for you!

My projects include the Gable Box Die and the Hearts/Paw Prints Die Set from Suzanne Cannon's new and exciting collection of dies and stamps! Tune in on June 5 to see lots of projects on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog and web site.  Not too long to wait...

For both of these I cut the Gable Box from 100# Soft White Cardstock (Elizabeth Craft Designs).  Leaving the Gable Box die cut flat, I then placed either the Hearts or the Paw Prints die onto the box where I wanted it to cut and put it through my die cut machine.  Color was added and then the boxes can be folded up adding adhesive to the bottom flaps.  However, before folding up the red/pink box, I glued a piece of acetate over the cut out hearts area.  With the holes covered even small candies like regular M&Ms could be added to the box for a fun gift.

The word "special" is part of one of the phrases on the Please Join Us stamp set.  I masked off the rest of the phrase, inked just the word special, stamped it on a scrap, added color, layered it and attached it to the box.  The hearts added to the top of the box are drop outs from die cutting.

For the tag on the Paw Prints Box I folded White Soft Finish Cardstock, cut it with the small Stitched Circles Die (Elizabeth Craft Designs) being sure to leave a cutting area off the edge of the fold so the tag would be folded after cutting, inked the circle, and added one of the drop out Paw Prints to the tag.  This would be adorable filled with small dog treats.
